A pretty good market in the Flushing area. There's a lot of parking here, but it does get crazy on weekends or right before a storm. Be careful when you leave the parking lot because the drivers on Northern Blvd are going really fast! There's usually some produce outside. I like this location because there's a very fresh bakery inside after you check out. The people at the meat section are also very friendly. The fish here is definitely cheaper compared to the supermarkets in Long Island, so I usually come here to buy fish and Chinese snacks. As far as vegetables go, I try and shop elsewhere. New Age Market does a lot of promotions. I've gotten a set of 3 bags of dumplings after sampling what the lady cooked there. Around Mid-Autumn Festival, there was a mooncake promotion where if you bought one big box, you got to choose a mini mooncake. This worked out because not all my family members like the same flavor, so through this promotion, we were able to satisfy what everyone wanted without having to buy 2 large boxes. Always look out for the promotions toward the back of the store!

Decades ago this was a movie theater where my brother and I hitched a ride to see one of the Power Rangers movies. I am so glad that New Age is sticking around. I think more Asian supermarkets like HMart and New Age Market should have a rewards/membership card. I brought a lot of my favorite childhood snacks, vegetables/fruits, meat, seafood and etc are very fresh here.

Very ruled and had no manners worker in New Age seafood department, manager needs to train their worker to have proper service manners.

    Vegetarian sauces!

I was a bit apprehensive when my cousin first suggested we go to New Age Market for groceries. I've only ever been to H-Mart for my Korean food needs and Waldbaums or Trader Joes for my American stuff so I wasn't sure what to expect venturing into unknown territory. I doubt I really had much of a choice, though, as she was the one driving. But I trust her judgment more than most people, so I was happy to oblige. And true to form, she was on point about this place. Their produce was extremely fresh, the shelves were well stocked with all sorts of Asian products, from Thai curries, to Japanese soba noodles, to Korean kimchi and Chinese eggplants! I was pretty impressed by the variety of food products they had for sale. What really knocked my socks off, however, were their assortment of vegetarian sauces. They had so many, I never realized these things even existed! I bought sauces I don't even know how to use, like ponzu and hoisin, just because it's vegetarian! Amazing! Now I'll need to go buy some cookbooks, to actually utilize these things but I'm so glad that people like me can actually flavor their foods, Asian style! (^^v)

The outside looks better than the inside!

Encouraged by the 3 glowing reviews, I decided to check this place out. The original vision may have been for a premium Asian supermarket, but the only remaining evidence of that is the 'fancy' green signage. The view from the car park is nice enough, but the already rusting shopping carts and the old styrofoam boxes that welcome you from the seafood department are a rude reality check. There is nothing here that separates this from your run-of-the-mill Chinese supermarket. No unique selection or higher quality meats or seafood--just the typical underpaid demoralized staff. In fact I would say the place is a little smaller than average, so they offer fewer choices. Judging by what they charge for rice, prices seem to be the same or a little higher. To their credit, they do clean their floor with one of those commercial machines, but a dingy grey is already starting to form in the many corners that it can't reach. I didn't try their bakery because it was near closing time and they were starting to block the exit with carts of fruit from outside. It looked like there was an upstairs seating area that overlooks the checkout counters. Not that this is such a pleasant or peaceful place to enjoy your coffee and pastry. I was disappointed because I had high expectations from the hype. I would love for someone to open a really premium Chinese supermarket, but this is definitely not it. There's no reason for me to come back.

Originally, the honey dew was charged for $5.00

Pros: Carries a great variety of imported food from the Mediterranean (i.e. Greek honey and spices,…read moreItalian beans/flour, Turkish pistachio spread). I would come here specifically for those type of items - that's the highlight of this grocery store. Cons: Those 6 parking spots in the front are coveted AF (to quote Dylan from the TV show Severance). I've almost seen a few fights breaks out over those spots, and in my opinion it's not worth it because people don't know how to reverse out of the spot and will end up scraping the side of your car. No trip to Raspberry Farm is complete without honking at someone or getting honked at - it's part of the experience. Also, as other reviewers have said, many of the items on the shelves are expired. Be sure to always check the expiration date of anything you buy.

If you accept going to this international supermarket as a visit to a third world country (in…read moreWhitestone) you can enjoy excellent prices on imported goods and everyday grocery items. Strong representation from Greece in the form of cheeses, oils, grains, olives, and specialty items. Turkish, Moroccan and Spanish/Latin American groceries show up when available. High-quality imported Italian pasta, tomatoes, snacks, crackers, sweets. Entire wall of nuts and dried fruits, good section of hard to find flours like chickpea and potato. Now and then a random item shows up on sale, offering a chance to sample a new olive oil or balsamic vinegar. Very good job bringing seasonal imports in around the holidays - pandoro, panettone, torrone. Caveats are: freshness of produce is hit or miss, and ALWAYS check the expiration dates as sometimes older stuff stays in stock.
