I again explained the situation and sincerely apologized, asking if the cancellation fee could be waived given the circumstances. Unfortunately, the response felt cold and lacked empathy. I was told the charge could not be waived, despite this being a true emergency completely out of our control. We were not just charged a standard cancellation fee -- we were charged the full cost of the massage, totaling $250.00. I also requested that a manager or owner return my call to further discuss the situation, but I never received a follow-up call. The lack of response was especially disappointing and unprofessional. I understand and respect that businesses have cancellation policies to protect against no-shows and last-minute cancellations. However, there should be room for compassion and discretion in genuine, unavoidable emergencies. Customer service and empathy matter. We will be returning to Savannah to complete the trip we were unable to enjoy, but we will choose a different spa. When I reached the lobby barely able to move, the owner sat with arms crossed, showing no concern. She didn't introduce herself, didn't stand to address me, and treated the situation with complete indifference.
