He had a horrible ear mite problem and had a nasty sinus infection because of it. I had been treating his ears with ear mite medication from online, but it just kept coming back. He really liked her right off the bat, which was a relief in itself. She took a sample from his ear, checked it in their lab and told me it was no big deal. I was sent home with all the medications that he would need. Within 3 days my old boy was back to himself. At 19! Thank you so much again Sierra Vet!

Four years ago yesterday on December 14, 2013 our family grew a little bigger, when we went to Carson City PetSmart as DTCR was there having an adoption event. We visited several of the cutest pups that they had there that day as my husband came around the corner to Bohobi aka Hobey and his sibling Donzia he just knew that he was 'The One'. So he asked his Foster Mom if he could take him for a stroll around the store and as he walked with him, that was the moment again that my husband instantly connected with Bohobi aka Hobey. He just knew that Hobey would be a perfect fit for our home, so he introduced me and my Daughter to him with us falling in love with him too. We talked with Dorothy and his Foster Mom, filled out the appropriate paperwork next we knew Hobey was a part of our family, forever in our hearts. Bohobi aka Hobey has been the BIGGEST blessing to our home, our lives and his furry Sister Sadie just adores him. Both of them reminding us everyday to enjoy the little things in life by showing how easy it is to give gratitude, being goofy by not being afraid to laughing at ourselves, their unconditional love each time they greet us, showing us loyalty while being non-judgmental and encouraging us to get up to get out while enjoying the great outdoors for a walk or hike. DTCR is an AMAZING non-profit that helps many fur babies aka dogs and rehomes them with fabulous families, just like ours. It's easy to donate to help their cause or even adopt one of their fur babies of your own by going to Carson City PetSmart like we did on a Saturday for one of their regularly scheduled adoption events every month. Be sure to check out their webpage to see times and dates and find your newest addition to your family. So go get rescued, your heart and soul will thank you. And Thank you Dog Town for helping Hobey rescue us! Want to learn more about Hobey aka Bohobi's story? Click on DTCRs website and then click on 'Stories of Dogs We Helped' his and his furry family including his fur mommy's story is the first one. Be sure to have tissue handy.

She had stopped eating, was lethargic, and her gums were pale. She was diagnosed with IMHA (immune-mediated hemolytic anemia), a condition where the immune system attacks the body's own red blood cells, and she needed a blood transfusion right away. They got her one quickly, and one of the staff members was even kind enough to bring in their own dog as the donor. That showed me how invested they were in Widget's well-being and in saving her, and it made me feel like I could truly trust them with her care. The transfusion stabilized Widget and saved her life, and the team treated her IMHA effectively from there. During her recovery, Widget and I visited Dr. Gorgon once a week to check her lab work and make sure she wasn't backsliding. I could tell from the way Widget interacted with Dr. Gorgon that she trusted her, which really impressed me because Widget is a nervous dog. Widget has since made a remarkable recovery and is back to her old life of adventures. A few other things worth knowing: * The staff is very responsive whenever you call or have a question. * The facilities are clean and modern. * They do in-house bloodwork so you get results fast. * They have a pharmacy and can fill prescriptions on site. * They accepted ScratchPay and CareCredit at the time of Widget's emergency (worth confirming if you plan to use either). When your pet is sick, the last thing you want to worry about is whether you can afford their care. If you're in the South Lake Tahoe area, I can't recommend Carson Valley Veterinary Hospital enough. We have wonderful vets up here, but they simply aren't as well equipped for emergencies like Widget's. After the care she received, I'd gladly drive her down the mountain once a week. Thank you to everyone at Carson Valley Veterinary Hospital. We're so grateful.

I am extremely disappointed and heartbroken over our experience here. We brought our cat, Bandit,…read morein because he was very sick, weak, losing weight, and clearly not himself. I was already extremely emotional and scared, and instead of feeling like we had a team trying to help us, I felt like the first priority was how much money we could pay. Before even running tests to determine what was wrong with him, we were being asked about the cost. I understand that veterinary care costs money and that businesses have to charge for their services, but when someone is sitting there crying and desperately trying to help their pet, there should be compassion and some effort to explain the options clearly not make them feel like they are being forced into an impossible financial decision. We ultimately had to make the heartbreaking decision to put Bandit to sleep. I will always wonder whether something could have been done for him if we had been given a real opportunity to find out what was wrong and discuss treatment options before being pushed toward the cost of everything. We were charged around $500 for the euthanasia and cremation. I understand cremation is an additional service, but being charged that much after feeling like there wasn't much effort made to actually help save him has left me feeling devastated and taken advantage of. The most painful part is that I didn't feel like Bandit was being treated as a life that mattered. I felt like I was being treated as a customer and a dollar amount during one of the worst moments of my life. I held Bandit's hand while he received his final shot. He was a cat we found and rescued and became part of our family. We loved him, and we wanted to help him. I just wish I had felt that the people caring for him wanted the same thing. I hope this experience is taken seriously and that other families in a similar situation are given more compassion, transparency about costs, and genuine options before being put in the position we were in.
