Stella feeling better already!
Carolyn G.

Thank you to Dr. Gorgon and her staff for helping Stella feel better! Nothing worse than having your fur baby hurting and being out of town. Not knowing who can help, well we lucked out they were open on a holiday. Definitely recommend them! Professional and clean.

I can't say enough amazing things about Carson Valley Vet! They have always taken exceptional care of my dog, Copper, and I've never had anything less than outstanding service. On a recent visit, I had to bring him in on a Sunday, and they got me in immediately. Copper needed emergency dental surgery, and they managed to squeeze him in just a day and a half later. The team always takes the time to explain everything in detail, and they're completely honest and open about all options. A special shoutout to Dr. Warner for his expertise and care, and to Rachel--her kindness and calmness were exactly what I needed in that moment. I trusted her immediately, and she made the entire experience so much easier. To top it all off, the cost of Copper's 22 tooth extractions was incredibly reasonable and even less than the initial quote. I live an hour away, but I will always bring my animals here. Thank you, Carson Valley Vet, for consistently going above and beyond!

I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Mannan, whose compassionate guidance helped us make the toughest decision with clarity and confidence. Dr. Mannan took the time to explain everything, ensuring we understood every aspect of our beloved dog's condition. I highly recommend Carson Valley Veterinary Hospital, and I would choose them again and again. We traveled from Dayton for a second opinion, and although the news wasn't what we had hoped, I'm grateful for the experience. Dr. Mannan's kindness, gentleness, and genuine concern for our pet's well-being shone through. The office staff showed immense kindness during my difficult time. The prices were well worth the drive, especially considering Dayton quoted three times more for the same service. It's truly remarkable. This hospital is state-of-the-art, and I would be honored to bring any future pets here. Although we're not ready for another pet just yet, after having to say goodbye to two dogs in one year. Thank you again, Kymm and Miranda Gibbons RIP My beloved buddies for life !! Tank and Sammy Gibbons

Do not take your pet anywhere else. I love Carson Valley Vet Hospital. Today I called from work, my dog ate a corn cob two days ago and wouldn't walk today. Called them explained the situation, , I was already headed there. They had me pull over and do some tests on my dog, they said come straight here, we will watch for you. Got there and they took him straight back, did X-rays and in 15 minutes had some answers and they are treating him. If they have to do surgery they will. Saga ongoing but doc said this is a common thing and everything will be ok. I live in Carson and work in Reno, drove all the way out there because I don't trust anyone else with my Frenchie. Staff and doctors are absolutely amazing. World class in caring for you and your pet. I will not take my dogs anywhere else and make the drive because it's worth it. 10 stars! So thankful to have them for our community.

Not the final review of 2023 I was hoping to write but unfortunately, it became time to put our baby girl, Beastie, to sleep. From making the appointment on the phone, to interacting with the staff in person, everybody was caring, sympathetic, and patient. In a strange twist, while I was filling out the paperwork, our dog ended up passing away in my wife's arms...right there in the waiting area. The girls at the desk took her into a room to verify and unfortunately, did confirm that she had passed. They gave us a private room to say our goodbyes, and handled all of the paperwork/payments privately so we wouldn't have to go back into the waiting room. We ended up going with the option to have her cremated and ashes returned to us and to have her paws molded. Obviously, they removed the euthanasia charge from the final bill. I would highly recommend this place to every dog parent. They truly care for your pet and are very kind. Below is the final picture of our baby. It was taken in the parking lot, just seconds before she passed. She loved the mountains very much.

Let me tell you, if you need a veterinarian to go to in this area, you need to pay these guys a visit we were really impressed with how clean the place was, but he has a brand new building but, we lived in this area years ago and it's amazing how many things have built up and this is one of them that is fantastic. My Little Roo, my sweet little Chihuahua, who is under three panels, had a PDA, which is part of its heart murmur, and needed heart surgery as soon as possible. We had gone to a place in Reno, but neither one of us were very comfortable, and did not feel right, so we did major research and Dr. Ross at Carson Valley veterinarian Hospital was our choice. They let us stay in their parking lot in our camper van, which was super nice and so easy in the morning to drop her off at 7 AM in one minute compared to driving two hours that was very nice of them to let us stay. Fantastic, clean place. The staff is absolutely wonderful. We dropped her off on Thursday morning. She had surgery Thursday afternoon. Dr. Ross called me and told me how good she was doing, and we could pick her up the next day at 1 PM. I decided to go home and get some things done and came back on Friday to pick her up at 1 PM. She was in good hands, the sweet vet tech, I didn't get her name, but she said that my puppy just sat in their shirts during the daytime and turn the phone and just sitting there looking around it was very happy to be hanging out with them. It was really cute. I almost had to fight to get my dog back lol just kidding. They all loved her. I want to thank them very much for saving my little puppies life, I was so scared and they did such a great job and you will definitely have my business and a lot of my friends business by the time I'm done. If anyone on here needs a good veterinarian tell them Kelly Barr recommended you, I would appreciate it.

We were referred to this place because they have doctors who are trained in the type of surgery my dog needs. It's not too far from Reno and the drive is easy. From the initial phone call to set up a consultation to meeting the doctor, our experience has been amazing! We were greeted by friendly people when we checked in. The vet tech who walked us to our room and did the initial check was informative and helpful. Dr. Nelson was incredibly personable. He got down on the floor and gave my dog lots of love and pettings. We have our surgery set for our dog in a few weeks and I'm confident he will be in good hands. It's apparent they love animals! I'm so glad my fur baby will be taken care of here.

Had our first ever appointment at CVVH yesterday and was extremely pleased from interacting with the gals at the front desk, to the tech all the way to Dr. Pils. Everyone was very nice, asked questions, loved on our babies, gave them treats after their shots...all the things you could hope for. This was our kitties first trip to the Vet so I was unsure how they'd do, but they were purring and half asleep in their carrier by the time we were done. Dr. Pils came in after examining them/administering vaccines and went through everything he checked to give them a clean bill of health. He was nice, calm, informative and made sure I didn't have any questions or concerns. They set me up with an appointment for our next visit while we were still in the exam room and give me some details on what was coming up as well as what the spay/neutering process would be like when it was time. We were only in for vaccines but I can tell they all care about the animals they're working with which goes a long way in my book. We were referred there by a friend as some of the Vets in our area (Tahoe) had less than stellar reviews. I am feeling like we are in great hands with them and they'll take wonderful care of our kitties.

My pups.

I called the Carson Valley Vet Hospital the first thing in the morning and was able to get her in right away.

After a short wait (there was only a couple people there when I arrived) I met with the Vet. She explained what was going on and the plan to move forward. She told me about an hour. Shortly have meeting with the vet, the place was packed, with multiple emergencies coming in. Soon after the hour passed, the lady at the county called me up apologized for the wait, and explained what was going on that was causing the delay. About an hour or so later, I met with the vet again. She was able to determine the issue and presented me with a couple of options. I was told that one of the options would be done that day if we went that route, but she couldn't give a time due to the number of other higher priority issues. A couple hours after I arrived back home, I received a call that our pet was ready for pick up. When I arrived, the place was virtually empty, and I was greeted when I walked in. The gentleman at the desk explained what was going on, treatment, asked if I had any concerns, explained the cost, took my payment and returned with our pet. Everyone was very professional, and very kind. Everyone I met had a genuine empathy for all of the animals that came in. I hope that I never have to step foot in here again, but if I do, I know that our pets are in good hands!

We were given medication and an Elizabethan collar and discharged. At a follow-up appointment with our primary veterinarian on Wednesday, it was discovered that a sizeable piece of debris had been left in her eye. The cornea had actually begun healing over the foreign body because it was not removed during the initial visit. As a result, our veterinarian had to re-open the wound in order to remove the debris, essentially restarting the healing process. This oversight is extremely concerning, as it delayed proper healing and could have led to much more serious complications, including potential vision loss. When we called to address the situation, the receptionist was very apologetic and assured us a message would be passed along for the veterinarian to return our call. Unfortunately, we never received a follow-up. While we understand and expect higher fees for emergency care, we do not expect critical aspects of treatment to be missed. We are grateful our primary veterinarian caught and corrected the issue, but we are very disappointed in the level of care provided during the initial visit.

Around 8pm on march 21st my cat started having trouble breathing and she started convulsing. She wasn't breathing until my brother would shake her to start breathing again. We rushed her to this emergency clinic but she sadly passed away in my brothers arms in the car just two minutes from the clinic. The team was fantastic. One of the members there who took my cat to the back let us stay there for as long as I needed and didn't judge me for crying loudly. My mother paid $600 in total for my beloved cat to be cremated and to have a clay print of her paws which in my opinion is a great price. About a week(ish) later we got to pick up her ashes and the clay print we were promised and I believe the team went above and beyond. I received a card with the team's signatures and a certificate of cremation.

Everyone to help were female and extremely compassionate and competent. The vet techs were friendly and knowledgeable and my cats have always been treated very well. They treated our Titi so well when he held to be held over the weekend, and allowed us calls and checkups to see how he was doing. They were all so sweet and let us know how much they loved him. I recently had to put a stray I had been caring for down and they were so kind and patient and even recognized my mom as Titis owner. It felt like they really cared. They explained everything and got him cleaned up so that he could have a dignified farewell. We got his clay paws and they gave us two cards for both my boyfriend and I (we didn't know they'd do this and it was such a thoughtful thing to do) with an ink print of his little snout on it along with some signatures. My only negative experiences have been with the purple haired girl there. She is usually sitting at the desk. The way she speaks to pet parents there is appalling. I've watched her flat out ignore customers if they are not standing exactly where she wants them in line, cut people off, and just be extremely rude as well as not relaying necessary information until prompted. I understand needing to be firm and calm in stressful situations, but the other workers there can do it without belittling and making just nasty and unnecessary comments. She was being so unpleasant to the people in the waiting room regardless of what they were there for. I couldn't believe her lack of decency and talent for escalating calm and respectful situations to anger and irritation.
