He was honored here at the Veterans Memorial Building a few weeks ago on, Nov. 15, 2014, and they honored him with a luncheon party. It was attended by fellow service men and women and us family members that were able to attend. The Post provided the food. We all enjoyed the hospitality the Post gave to us. It was an honor to be able to actually thank many of the Vets for their own service and sacrifice they gave up so we could and still have FREEDOM in this country so close to Veterans day. The Post itself is well decorated with memorabilia from the different wars and battles. They have bins for your worn or damaged American Flags to be properly disposed of.

10/4/2018: My brother, Albert rolled into town-literally, driving his black, sports car; he just…read moreretired working from Williston, North Dakota. Albert saw a banner hanging from Placerville's Main Street advertising a spaghetti dinner being held at the American Legion on the way driving to my house. Upon arriving at my house, Albert flatly stated, "We're going to eat spaghetti dinner~MY TREAT!" Ok, Albert-Let's Go! I drove my truck to the American Legion Post giving Albert time off from hauling from North Dakota to NorCal in about nine hours, non-stop driving . . . Oooof~My brother is such an outrageous, road warrior-he's INSANE IN THE BRAIN and he STILL wants eating spaghetti? Okay~Whatever, Dude! We enter the building which was packed with a plethora of people wearing American Legion hats, mounds of gifts stacked at every table, cramped tables filled with people stuffing their faces with all-you-can-eat spaghetti dinner, loud microphone blasting through fuzzy, inaudible speakers, strange flyers floating about the marijuana initiatives, the smell of spaghetti sauce, vinegar, and bread permeating the entire Post! WOW! Warning, warning: Visual, audible, and olfactory overload, Mr. Rogers-over and out!
