Traveled to Seattle to see my boyfriends all time favorite band play at Neumos, which is connected to the bar. Be careful not to get too intoxicated at this bar, and definitely don't sit alone in one of the booths while your SOBER significant other has just approached the bar, intending to order food and water. Bouncers will approach your significant other, reprimand them to not get your boyfriend another drink, and when you inform the bouncer that you know he does not need another drink, and that you are not even ordering alcohol, they won't like your "attitude". The bouncer will proceed to approach your intoxicated bf (who is sitting alone waiting for food and water, minding his own business, not causing ANY trouble) and will harass and interrogate him to the point of becoming upset. My bf told him to go away, and then, all hell broke loose. The bouncer grabbed my bf out of the booth, wrestled him to the ground and dragged him across the bar like a rag doll to the outside, and threw him to the ground in the cold wet rain. I thought this guy was going to physically injure my boyfriend and it was a very frightening experience. The bouncer will also place his hands on a woman, and SHOVE HER to the ground, twice, in the cold wet rain. There will also be about 5 other bouncers who will whiteness this and will not give two shits about a woman being shoved to the ground, TWICE. As a side note- back inside there was a security-type door man (sits by the door that enters into Neumos and makes sure you don't bring alcohol across venues) who was cool with my boyfriend the whole night, and who also witnessed this go down inside. He also had approached the scene at the table (before it got ugly) to defend my bf and to let the bouncer know that he's cool. However, the bouncer could care less. He also did not even look my way when I asked what the problem was and that I had just said I was not ordering alcohol, he just kept interrogating my bf. Outside, when I yelled at him for shoving a woman to the ground, he replied yelling back with "you had an attitude inside!". So, business owners of these establishments, please be aware of this incident and know that one of your bouncers does not have safety as his first priority, but rather who he can interrogate the most and use UNNECESSARY physical force on. We never got a verbal warning to leave, and this bouncer was also NEVER approached with physical threats or harm to make him react the way he did. Just an innocent young woman standing at the bar for a slit second, simply wanting to get some food and water for her bf who needed it. It's a bar. People get drunk. We did not do a damn thing wrong for the bouncer to even approach me. That bouncer needs anger management for his reaction towards my "attitude". For him to admit that that was pure reaction to what I said, WOW. He is not safe for your establishment and 100% assaulted my boyfriend and took advantage of the situation, for no good reason. To me, seems like this bouncer has a power struggle with women having a strong female presence and defending their intentions of NOT ORDERING A DRINK when wrongfully accused. Poor guy, he must have a really small one. read more
