The man staffing the office when I checked in on a Thursday night was really nice. Not in a forced way, nor did he seem like he was tired that he does this every day. He was truly kind, relaxed, helpful and informative. And there was a lot of information to give. The record library that you can borrow from is extensive, I barely scratched the surface (not of the records of course!). Having the update of a door code instead of keys was nice. The rooms were generous in size and had everything we needed - desk for piling my stuff on, TV, single serve coffee maker, two beds, bathroom, mini fridge and microwave. Couple notes that really don't count against the place but just to make one aware - the beds felt like maybe they weren't quite queen sized but almost full sized? I don't know, I couldn't figure it out but then again, I haven't slept in a queen in awhile. But they were comfortable. Also, where the coffee maker was, on the desk under the TV, there were no outlets. Two blank outlet covers under the desk and the outlet being taken up for the TV but no outlet for the coffee maker. I ended up putting it on a nightstand. Works fine, just a weird thing. I really loved the faux-vintage mini fridges and in some rooms, matching microwaves. Location of this hotel is great, you can walk to most things quite easily. No sidewalks, but that's ok. I would stay here again!

I called the next morning to inform them of my horrific experience and they said they can not compensate me for my missed stay, and that the lock box twists not slides. What never heard that before. That is bull shiz they should've given better instructions a bunch of crap the receptionist was very unkind and deserves to lose her job. She hung up on me as well.... This place sucks!!!!

Water that trickles from the showerhead and runs short of hot pretty quickly. I've slept in more spacious and comfortable tents. No soap. Some people put lodging together in ways that show you they've thought about your comfort. Other people send the message that they don't care about you at all. This place cares less about you than not caring at all. They must actively loathe guests.

The home is only two minutes to the Oceanside beach and about 10 to Tillamook (no cell service at the house, but speedy wifi). Our room (Sea Mist) was private, very quiet save for the roar of the ocean in the distance, super comfy bed, and enormous bathroom with heated floors. The food was, if possible, even better than the lodging. Haystacks, waffles and yogurt parfaits for breakfast, apple cupcakes with cranberry frosting as an afternoon snack, chocolate covered strawberries - all homemade by Mary. Let's just say we didn't need lunch during our stay. Mary is an absolute delight - happy to chat with you over breakfast and offer local tips, or leave you be if you prefer privacy. She was also so sweet when my wife came down sick on our trip, offering late check-out and outfitting us with doggie bags and ice chips for the car ride home. And if you like dogs, Jessie the 16-year-old Wheaton terrier is always waiting downstairs and eager for a scratch behind the ears. We will most certainly be back!

Peaceful Stay with a Great Host…read more We had a wonderful stay at Raines Resort and loved Cabin C2. The cabin was clean, cozy, and very well equipped, with a comfortable bed, a full kitchen, a fridge/freezer that was especially useful for our fishing trip, Wi-Fi, and bathroom essentials. It truly felt like a home away from home. The river right outside the cabin was beautiful, and the dock was easy to access. Hong even provided fishing poles and bait, which made it easy to fish whenever we wanted. We also enjoyed meeting other guests on the dock, which added to the warm, relaxed atmosphere. The resort is close to the beach but still far enough from the crowds to offer the peace and quiet we were looking for. Hong was an outstanding host and made our trip even better with his local tips and recommendations during Dory Days festival that was happening the same weekend. He was always available if we needed anything, even after my partner forgot the door code and accidentally set off the alarm. This place was recommended by the charter company we booked our fishing trip with, and I'm so glad we stayed here. I highly recommend Raines Resort for a relaxing, stress-free getaway, and we'll definitely be back.

My husband, our little girl dog and I decided to stay at Raines Resort for one night before we drive up to visit the Tillamook Creamery (which is ~ 35 minutes away but is cheaper staying here than some of the other hotels closer). If you make a booking online directly through Raines Resort's website, it is cheaper and there is also a small discount if you stay 2 nights or more. We stayed in C3, one of their cabins that has a wonderful view of the river (just steps from your balcony). What is really nice about this cabin is that there is also a kitchen, which is something we really wanted so that we could cook our meal and also a meal for our little girl (yes we primarily cook all of our meals for her). It is nice that the kitchen has dishware, utensils, cookware, coffee, etc. But you would have to bring your own cooking oil and seasoning. There is also a full size fridge that has a freezer, which is greatly appreciated because from other hotels that we have stayed in, although there is a mini fridge, the mini fridge doesn't have a freezer and we have things that we would like to freeze (ice packs and also like to freeze bottled water to keep our food items cold in our cooler). There is a parking spot that you can park right in front of your cabin, which makes for easy loading and unloading. The bed we had was nice and comfortable. The place itself was clean. The bathroom was small though but was fine for our stay. Prior to our stay, Hong (the manager and possibly the owner?) contacted me via text message to ask me if I knew what time I would be arriving. I had told him that it would most likely be after the office is closed since we were on a road trip. He told me that it wouldn't be a problem and gave me the door code to get in and also said that he was going to be out of town so that most likely we would not meet him. But he was very good at checking in with me via text message, which I greatly appreciated. Overall, we all really enjoyed our stay and would stay here again when passing through this part of Oregon.

It was not evident at booking that the property we were reserving was about 10 minutes away from the main location. There were no directions regarding check in, and that made it a hassle to backtrack to the main location for access. The main reasons we booked this rental were for the outdoor space overlooking the ocean and the hot tub. While the view was unbeatable, there was no propane provided for the fire table and the hot tub was green, so we weren't able to use either. My husband left a couple messages with the office but never got a response. When we raised this with the manager at check out, she indicated that we should have called for them to fix it and that she thought the hot tub was safe to use anyway (definitely not willing to test that theory). When we pointed out the unreturned calls, she was very dismissive. While the property itself was nice, the service and care were lacking.

We rented cabin #6 for the weekend and were pretty disappointed to have spent so much for such a run-down rental. We immediately wished we had stayed elsewhere. And the fireplace was nice, but the circulator didn't work to keep the airflow going with the doors closed. Kind of a bummer. - That's it. The negatives: The couch was gross and partly covered by a fitted sheet/cover, while the upper portion was exposed and peeling. Time for a new couch! Then there was an antique upright record player (for some reason) that we couldn't get to work; just taking up space. Interesting choice. The entire back half of the cabin (bedroom/bathroom) is on such a slant that we felt so disoriented walking around. I am posting a photo of the bed, which has been shimmed on one side to account for the lopsided floors. The level of this cabins cleanliness was very questionable. Bugs trapped under the glass in the artwork, stains on the comforter, dust and sand e-v-e-r-y-w-h-e-r-e. And yeah, I realize we're steps from the beach, but it didn't feel like the floors had been cleaned in quite some time. When the evening light penetrates the windows you can see it all. Just gross. Also, each nightstand lamp in the bedroom wasn't working; turns out they were both unplugged. WISH I HADN'T SEEN BEHIND THE BED! Others had mentioned the woman who smoked. We saw her quite a few times standing in front of our cabin cigarette in hand. Not a fan of that. We won't be back.

We were given a complimentary baggie with a cleanup bag and dog treats, and directed to head right to the beach for sunset -- as soon as the owner met Marley. It was great to get out of the car and tear around on the sand for all three of us. We returned to find a room fit for a dog. Simple, comfortable accommodations. No carpets to worry about, doggie cleanup towels in the office for beach trips and an expansive lawn out back, abutting our cozy patio. We ordered shrimp salads from a place the owners recommended. Delicious. A request for ice brought us ice, two glasses and cocktail napkins on a tray! She seemed disappointed when I declined the offer of straws. All three of us slept like we had not slept in days, thanks to comfortable beds and quiet surroundings. Pacific City Inn used to house a bar and restaurant, but no more (another Covid casualty). But no matter, because there's lots of food options nearby. What it is: a friendly, pet-loving place with all the things you need and nothing you don't. What it isn't: fussy or precious. Since we were only here one night we didn't need kitchen and loved the view. We are only feet away from beach! The unit is very clean and updated. Beautiful cabinetry, hardware, and tiled shower. There is a coat closet in the main room, no other storage. Everything inside works fine. Low water pressure in shower and intermittent cell service are my only complaints. The heat are wall units. The bathroom heat is from the fan overhead got very toasty. I thought it was a great place to stay. No body else were in the other units this time of year. There is a 24 hour market in walking distance as well as restaurants and a pot shop.
