We stayed in #6 and it was absolutely disgusting. You can absolutely tell they haven't cleaned it in a while, there was hair on the pillows, blankets, towels etc. It was sandy and the floors were sticky and absolutely disgusting. The walls had cracks in them and it was tilting. We left early, this place is a complete waste of money do not come here. For at least $175 dollars a night for a 3 night stay minimum the place should be SPOTLESS. I'm so disappointed, I never ever get days off and never take vacations and got taken here by my family. I wish we went somewhere else. Everyone is nice but it's not worth feeling disgusting and having a crappy time. Oh and the entire house was tilting. Quite literally tilting, you could put a ball down and it would roll to the other side of the house. Do better yall, this is ridiculous.

Would have been nice to be told when we checked in at 2:45 pm. that they we're running later than the 20 minutes we were originally told. So we'll be having a conversation about check in and out times. Yes, the cleaning crew has extra duties do to Covid-19. Not my problem! I was told check in is at 3:00 pm not 3:43. So waiting almost three quarters of an hour to get into our rental wasn't that bad. The grounds are awesome. Lots of cool plants. Chickens and Duck's running around. A couple awesome Dogs that are very friendly. Each T. H. is different but they all have BBQ'S. our bbq is a tad rusty inside but it look's usable. There used to be a Disc Gllf Course here but its been turned into an Event Space. I don't know when the change was made but I saw pics from 2018. The loft is a low ceiling and the bedroom is a little cramped but still pretty awesome for a T.H. The Bathroom is good sized. I was pleasantly surprised at it's size. I really like all the wood interior. Really charming. The Kitchen isn't huge but definitely Full Size. A 10 Gallon Hot Water Tank gives you about a 10 minute shower, so no lounging. Covid-19 is still among us so most of Oregon is still in lock-down. Most businesses are closed and there'll be No Fireworks this year but the weather is decent and were at the coast. Worth it! I needed this weekend. I just got laid off to join the 1 in 3 Americans who are unemployed currently. I'll take a siesta and get another J. O. B. So, for now, I'm going to enjoy this weekend with my family.

I asked what time checkout was and they said 11am but failed to tell me that there was a late fee starting at 11:15 AM and they charged per 15 minutes after 11:15. They left a lock box for us and although the weather was very rainy and stormy, and there is no elevator to get up to the rooms, we got in with no issues. But, when we opened our balcony door we saw a shipwrecked boat on the beach in front of our room and the people staying above us were up every hour on the hour and then at 5 am started dragging suitcases across the floor- and you can hear everything through the ceiling. And construction crews got there at 6:30 am to remove the mast from the ship. We got maybe two hours of sleep. They office told me the people above us had a family emergency but regardless, a late fee was charged as we were still moving our suitcases from the room on the second floor, down the stairs at 11:30 until 11:40 when I went to the office after someone came to tell my husband at the car we were going to be charged a fee. I asked if they could make an exception to the rule due to the circumstances but they refused and were immediately on the defense the minute I walked in the office door. I tried to get Expedia to refund us and the hotel refused. I travel for work often and I've never been charged a late checkout fee, especially since we didn't get any sleep, let alone one per 15 minutes and the majority of that was my husband trying to get all of our stuff downstairs because there's no elevator. Do not recommend. Do not stay here.

As others have said, you're paying for the view. However, personally, I have not felt welcome here,…read moreand I also observe that many of the stated amenities or "perks" are not available, not working, or just not.....it's been death by a thousand cuts for me, and it's on top of the multiple racial micro aggressions I've experienced in this town in less than 24 hours. 1. Upon arrival to check-in, I observed one person at the reception desk being helped by the sole staff member, plus several folks hanging out in the lobby. After checking that no one else was waiting, I sat down to wait. They all left and I was the only person waiting. Of course, a white woman strolled right up to the desk from outside just as the other guest left, and instead of telling her I was there first, or even acknowledging me at all, the white staff person just helped her. 2. They say that pets names are on a welcome board when you arrive. My dog's name was not there and the board was tucked away against a wall. 3. I'm traveling alone with a dog, so I unload everything before bringing my dog into the room. After lugging everything to the door, my key cards did not work. When I went back to reception, there was no apology, or anything about accountability. Simply "oh let me fix that." 4. The room says that the TV is equipped with AppleTV, and even has a special button for it. Does not actually work. 5. They say they provided cookies in the lobby between 4-6pm. I checked in just after 4pm and there were none. 6. I took my dog out to sightsee and when we same back, again with my hands full, the key cards did not work again. So, I have to leave my belongings at the door, and run to the lobby with my dog in tow, to get the fixed AGAIN. funny how that happened again. 7. When we did open the door to the room the first few times, the smell of "old lady perfume" was so strong. I asked the front desk if that was intentional and she said it must be a cleaning product. It is way too strong and I can still smell it on day 2, even after airing the room out as much as possible. 8. The shower head is covered with lime, and the spray options do not all fully function due to how clogged the shower head is. 9. The bedding is way too light for the climate. So then you run the heater, and get too hot in the night. 10. The outdated fridge runs loudly at random times in the night. I'm on a long road trip with my dog as we move to Canada, and we've been on the road for 2 weeks and been to 5 states. I decided to splash out on this hotel because I'm a huge Goonies fan, and my dog loves the beach. Overall, I'm disappointed and I'd say this hotel is not worth it at all. I will not stay here again. For this amount of $$$, plus dog fees for me, this value is abysmal.

They warn everyone that there is a pretty steep 12 degree grade/incline on the entry road so anyone pulling an RV use caution. But once up there, the setting is gorgeously wooded & rustic. It's very tranquil...it feels like a retreat! The resort doesn't have hotels/rooms/cabins (called "bunkies" in the NW) for rent. They recently did get an RV they rent out and may get more options in the future. There are several areas to tent (no elec or water) and plentiful RV spots. We were lucky that we were friends with a member and were invited to stay at her place. It felt like we were sleeping in a tree house the way it was nestled into the mountain. The resort has a clean large pool, an indoor hot tub, sauna, sports court, rec hall, and a gaming room with ping pong and billiards pool tables. People were reading and relaxing in the outside common areas, scattered between the shaded tree-lined perimeter and the colorful gardens. Bathrooms and shower areas were large & clean. There was a laundry area but we didn't notice a common kitchen area for guest use like the other resorts we've been to so far. They did have a few snacks & ice cream for sale, as well as a little "merch" area. The crown jewel of this resort is their trails! They have many volunteers who maintain them. They are very proud of them...as they should be. The entire resort is run via a co-op of volunteers, and most work gets done by the members. The "host" (front desk guy) was very helpful. We arrived the day of their annual board meeting so we felt lucky to meet so many of the "movers & shakers" there - especially a few of the board members! The day included a small local band & a BBQ dinner. The newly renovated rec hall made for a great place for the dinner & social area. We made new friends who invited us for drinks & dessert (and fabulous conversation) that night. It was a great day. MSR is trying to amp up their marketing & activities to boost interest and memberships. A newer event, Sports Fest, had concluded a couple weeks before we arrived & was a huge success. It offered something for everyone - from pickleball clinics & tourneys to a fun poker run through the woods. Bummed we missed it but it'll be an annual event. Check it out if you're on this side of the country next July! They used to have a Trail Run challenge up the mountain side & are discussing bringing it back. A few other things to know: *It's clothing optional except in the pool & hot tub. Most everyone was nude while we were there. *There is a strict no photo policy (stickers are provided/required over your phone cameras). We did get permission from leadership to take these photos and help spread the word about this beautiful resort. *Rates are affordable. *No cell phone service there but WiFi worked well. The resort's motto is "Just Wear A Smile". This & other cute signs were posted to help encourage nudity. It is a good deal colder, especially in the evenings, than FL where we are from so of course there's a bit more leeway (and necessity) regarding clothes. We loved the vibe & the people at MSR & will definitely be back!

This meal came after a surprise engagement for my girlfriend so I had high hopes and they delivered. We were greeted with a lovely glass of champagne and also received some specialty bon bons to end the meal. Starting with the venue itself, the restaurant is situated on the second floor of the restaurant in a quaint dining room. I was honestly a little surprised as I had assumed the restaurant was bigger but none the less it was a nice space. There's a kitchen near the entrance which is cool to see. The service itself was fantastic. They were welcoming and kind and fast to address any question or request. I also noticed they did a great job pacing as there would be times where other tables finished courses before we did but they still waited on our conversation to then clear and serve us the following dish. Now to the food. It was so delicious. I'll be honest that when I saw the menu in comparison to the prior night I got a little worried as the first two dishes I saw, crab and a mushroom soup were not something I would typically order at a restaurant. That being said...they were both incredible. The flavors and care that went into each dish was incredible. Great restaurants make items you may not typically like taste fantastic and this is a testament to the chef. We were loving all parts of the meal and it was an amazing dinner and evening to share. The bread and butter by itself were so amazing. It was such a lovely evening and thank you for making it so special for us. Would definitely come back if you're celebrating a big milestone!

We booked our stay just a few days before our arrival and I was lucky enough to secure an oceanfront fire pit room (there are only 4 on the property). As I reviewed the many advertised amenities on the website, I started to anticipate a great stay. On our check-in day my husband and I arrived around 2pm and were immediately greeted by friendly and helpful staff. We decided to wait in the library/lobby area for our room to be ready. The library has incredible views of the ocean and Haystack Rock, comfortable seating and is located just off the lobby where there are refreshments (water, coffee, tea, hot chocolate, freshly baked cookies, muffins and scones), as well as books, puzzles and games. When our room was ready we were given welcome drinks (sparkling wine with blueberry purée), helped with our bags and given a tour of the room and the grounds. It was during this tour that we realized that the property and room came with many more amenities than we anticipated! Such as: complimentary car wash, chocolate tasting, shuttle to/from downtown, in room snacks & beverages and a S'more's kit for our fire pit. The room and property provided everything we could want for a relaxing stay. During our two-night stay we enjoyed the cocktail hour which included drinks & appetizers, a good nightcap which included cocktails, nuts & chocolate covered cherries, breakfast in the dining room (buffet style with made to order items), a Ranger chocolate tasting with the chef, dinner in the dining room, listening to the ocean by our fire pit, watching the waves and the bunnies from our patio and yes, we also took advantage of the complimentary car wash (hand washed at that)! The staff were incredibly kind and helpful, the grounds and room were well maintained and comfortable, the food & drinks were delicious and the amenities were thoughtfully curated and delivered.
