    Cobwebs and filth

Pros -Location location location......... Cons- filthy dirty and dilapidated structure. I did not want to touch anything, luckily we had a blanket to put over the couch. Dog hair everywhere, it was apparent that no vacuuming of the floor and couch took place in a long time. Or mopping of the kitchen or bathroom for that matter. Baseboards were Discusting, a combo of what appeared to black mold and dirt. I kept my shoes on while inside the entire trip. Floor throughout the entire unit was warping so bad I'm not sure how the place is still standing. Many of the window shades were broken and non functioning, time to replace! The place could be amazing if someone cared, but it's clear that it's not getting the cleaning or renovations it's so badly needs. I don't understand how they can charge this much and not put money back into the business or at least provide a clean space for people. We have several rentals and I would be mortified to be providing this level of rental. One roll of toilet paper for a 4 nights stay. The previous poster might insist that people are being too harsh, however, I work very hard for my money and it makes me disgusted when I feel like I'm throwing it down the drain. Not actual location, it was about the actual property. I will not be coming back.

Dirty slider window and charcoal barbeque on a wooden deck.

We stayed in their HCH managed unit 18, The Pelican, a three story walk-up, three bedrooms, 2 bed with a bay and ocean view over the bayfront rentals across the street. It was a very bad experience. We sought the unit as shown in their website picture as a clear bay and ocean view. What we got was a unit that had filthy windows in ALL rooms and worst of all the two large picture double pane windows had broken seals with fogged windows. It was a HUGE and even costly disappointment to rent a unit that was NOT as represented. Further it was dirty and virtually none of the photos show the actual furnishings. You will need to view the pictures I posted to get a good idea. This manager, Teresa, stated she knew of these deficiencies but simply acted as a manager and not one to really get involved, like telling the owner that the unit needs repairs and deep cleaning. The kitchen window had no screen and the front slider screen was very worn. Teresa offered a unit next door to move to, but it too had problem with three sliders, two with no screen and one with a torn screen; just like our unit. I would advise not renting any of HCH managed units since they are very likely simply dirty, broken and NOT as represented in the website pictures. I don't think a large vacation managed company would continue to rent our unit without repairs. We feel simply robbed of a good rental experience through no fault of our own. Under circumstances this would be an excellent example of asking a management company for a partial refund. How about $500 for misrepresentation of the facts/ oh, and the smoke detectors in primary bedroom was hanging by the battery wire out of the case. Maid should have noticed and had corrected. We left Friday morning with a smoke detector beeping since they don't gave a schedule to replace batteries. Worst rental experience in our lifetime of good experiences. Steer clear of this rental company.

We stayed in #6 and it was absolutely disgusting. You can absolutely tell they haven't cleaned it in a while, there was hair on the pillows, blankets, towels etc. It was sandy and the floors were sticky and absolutely disgusting. The walls had cracks in them and it was tilting. We left early, this place is a complete waste of money do not come here. For at least $175 dollars a night for a 3 night stay minimum the place should be SPOTLESS. I'm so disappointed, I never ever get days off and never take vacations and got taken here by my family. I wish we went somewhere else. Everyone is nice but it's not worth feeling disgusting and having a crappy time. Oh and the entire house was tilting. Quite literally tilting, you could put a ball down and it would roll to the other side of the house. Do better yall, this is ridiculous.

Would have been nice to be told when we checked in at 2:45 pm. that they we're running later than the 20 minutes we were originally told. So we'll be having a conversation about check in and out times. Yes, the cleaning crew has extra duties do to Covid-19. Not my problem! I was told check in is at 3:00 pm not 3:43. So waiting almost three quarters of an hour to get into our rental wasn't that bad. The grounds are awesome. Lots of cool plants. Chickens and Duck's running around. A couple awesome Dogs that are very friendly. Each T. H. is different but they all have BBQ'S. our bbq is a tad rusty inside but it look's usable. There used to be a Disc Gllf Course here but its been turned into an Event Space. I don't know when the change was made but I saw pics from 2018. The loft is a low ceiling and the bedroom is a little cramped but still pretty awesome for a T.H. The Bathroom is good sized. I was pleasantly surprised at it's size. I really like all the wood interior. Really charming. The Kitchen isn't huge but definitely Full Size. A 10 Gallon Hot Water Tank gives you about a 10 minute shower, so no lounging. Covid-19 is still among us so most of Oregon is still in lock-down. Most businesses are closed and there'll be No Fireworks this year but the weather is decent and were at the coast. Worth it! I needed this weekend. I just got laid off to join the 1 in 3 Americans who are unemployed currently. I'll take a siesta and get another J. O. B. So, for now, I'm going to enjoy this weekend with my family.

As others have said, you're paying for the view. However, personally, I have not felt welcome here,…read moreand I also observe that many of the stated amenities or "perks" are not available, not working, or just not.....it's been death by a thousand cuts for me, and it's on top of the multiple racial micro aggressions I've experienced in this town in less than 24 hours. 1. Upon arrival to check-in, I observed one person at the reception desk being helped by the sole staff member, plus several folks hanging out in the lobby. After checking that no one else was waiting, I sat down to wait. They all left and I was the only person waiting. Of course, a white woman strolled right up to the desk from outside just as the other guest left, and instead of telling her I was there first, or even acknowledging me at all, the white staff person just helped her. 2. They say that pets names are on a welcome board when you arrive. My dog's name was not there and the board was tucked away against a wall. 3. I'm traveling alone with a dog, so I unload everything before bringing my dog into the room. After lugging everything to the door, my key cards did not work. When I went back to reception, there was no apology, or anything about accountability. Simply "oh let me fix that." 4. The room says that the TV is equipped with AppleTV, and even has a special button for it. Does not actually work. 5. They say they provided cookies in the lobby between 4-6pm. I checked in just after 4pm and there were none. 6. I took my dog out to sightsee and when we same back, again with my hands full, the key cards did not work again. So, I have to leave my belongings at the door, and run to the lobby with my dog in tow, to get the fixed AGAIN. funny how that happened again. 7. When we did open the door to the room the first few times, the smell of "old lady perfume" was so strong. I asked the front desk if that was intentional and she said it must be a cleaning product. It is way too strong and I can still smell it on day 2, even after airing the room out as much as possible. 8. The shower head is covered with lime, and the spray options do not all fully function due to how clogged the shower head is. 9. The bedding is way too light for the climate. So then you run the heater, and get too hot in the night. 10. The outdated fridge runs loudly at random times in the night. I'm on a long road trip with my dog as we move to Canada, and we've been on the road for 2 weeks and been to 5 states. I decided to splash out on this hotel because I'm a huge Goonies fan, and my dog loves the beach. Overall, I'm disappointed and I'd say this hotel is not worth it at all. I will not stay here again. For this amount of $$$, plus dog fees for me, this value is abysmal.

We are on a summer nudist resort trip. Our first nudist stop in Oregon was Mountaindale Sun Resort…read more(MSR) outside of Portland. This small resort is located in the mountains. They warn everyone that there is a pretty steep 12 degree grade/incline on the entry road so anyone pulling an RV use caution. But once up there, the setting is gorgeously wooded & rustic. It's very tranquil...it feels like a retreat! The resort doesn't have hotels/rooms/cabins (called "bunkies" in the NW) for rent. They recently did get an RV they rent out and may get more options in the future. There are several areas to tent (no elec or water) and plentiful RV spots. We were lucky that we were friends with a member and were invited to stay at her place. It felt like we were sleeping in a tree house the way it was nestled into the mountain. The resort has a clean large pool, an indoor hot tub, sauna, sports court, rec hall, and a gaming room with ping pong and billiards pool tables. People were reading and relaxing in the outside common areas, scattered between the shaded tree-lined perimeter and the colorful gardens. Bathrooms and shower areas were large & clean. There was a laundry area but we didn't notice a common kitchen area for guest use like the other resorts we've been to so far. They did have a few snacks & ice cream for sale, as well as a little "merch" area. The crown jewel of this resort is their trails! They have many volunteers who maintain them. They are very proud of them...as they should be. The entire resort is run via a co-op of volunteers, and most work gets done by the members. The "host" (front desk guy) was very helpful. We arrived the day of their annual board meeting so we felt lucky to meet so many of the "movers & shakers" there - especially a few of the board members! The day included a small local band & a BBQ dinner. The newly renovated rec hall made for a great place for the dinner & social area. We made new friends who invited us for drinks & dessert (and fabulous conversation) that night. It was a great day. MSR is trying to amp up their marketing & activities to boost interest and memberships. A newer event, Sports Fest, had concluded a couple weeks before we arrived & was a huge success. It offered something for everyone - from pickleball clinics & tourneys to a fun poker run through the woods. Bummed we missed it but it'll be an annual event. Check it out if you're on this side of the country next July! They used to have a Trail Run challenge up the mountain side & are discussing bringing it back. A few other things to know: *It's clothing optional except in the pool & hot tub. Most everyone was nude while we were there. *There is a strict no photo policy (stickers are provided/required over your phone cameras). We did get permission from leadership to take these photos and help spread the word about this beautiful resort. *Rates are affordable. *No cell phone service there but WiFi worked well. The resort's motto is "Just Wear A Smile". This & other cute signs were posted to help encourage nudity. It is a good deal colder, especially in the evenings, than FL where we are from so of course there's a bit more leeway (and necessity) regarding clothes. We loved the vibe & the people at MSR & will definitely be back!

One of the nicest clothing optional parks we have ever found. It has been around for a long time…read morebut not well known. IT SHOULD BE THOUGH. Camping and rv sites plentiful. A few overnight accommodations. Hiking trails plentiful through a beautiful wooded 104 acre location. Club house with plenty of events, games and activities available. Pickleball, bocci court and other outdoor activities plentiful. Heated seasonal pool, sauna, indoor beautiful all season hot tub. Monthly special events going on regularly. This is NOT a heavy party environment but more of a truly easy going relaxed community who enjoy good company in a non judgmental place providing a safe, friendly place to enjoy a clothing optional experience. They offer day use for non members that is priced affordably.

They have a "Chef's Table" that I thought would be nice since I am a single and you can watch them cook. Was told that would be 45 minutes to an hour, but their "Living Room" was available. Okay, sat there. Meal was very good, server nice and it is not her fault they tried to deliver food I didn't order to my table, clearly no Michelin star. Not the most comfortable table since more like a lounge, but okay. After dropping $230 on myself, what was annoying was the Chef's table was empty when I was leaving just like when I came in. WTF?
