Though I had to remember to be mindful of the ceiling height up on the loft and the stairs leading up, everything else was positive. I booked the stay on Expedia. On the day of arrival, received a text from host with House # and the passcode for entry. Checkout is the same way, just text bk your House # and name with time. Location was easy to locate, about 10 mins from Tillamook Creamy and 20 mins to Rockaway Beach. I was greeted by some wild deers when I pull into their parking lot. Their tiny homes each came with their own bbq grill on the front porch. In the back, there is a small fire pit for roasting marshmallows, very cute. The interior is clean and the kitchen came with utensils to cook a meal. Beds were comfortable. Plenty of windows for ventilation and their heaters kept us warm through the night.

Shoutout to Daniel who was a fabulous adventure guide and so nice! We also enjoyed happy hour at the Meridian bar. Delicious small bites and cocktails, also want to call out Zak who made great drinks and provided us with nice conversation a few nights in a row. They…read morecalled at 6:00pm on the night of our check in to tell me that they closed at 8 pm- which was not mentioned anywhere. I asked what time checkout was and they said 11am but failed to tell me that there was a late fee starting at 11:15 AM and they charged per 15 minutes after 11:15. They left a lock box for us and although the weather was very rainy and stormy, and there is no elevator to get up to the rooms, we got in with no issues. But, when we opened our balcony door we saw a shipwrecked boat on the beach in front of our room and the people staying above us were up every hour on the hour and then at 5 am started dragging suitcases across the floor- and you can hear everything through the ceiling. And construction crews got there at 6:30 am to remove the mast from the ship. We got maybe two hours of sleep. They office told me the people above us had a family emergency but regardless, a late fee was charged as we were still moving our suitcases from the room on the second floor, down the stairs at 11:30 until 11:40 when I went to the office after someone came to tell my husband at the car we were going to be charged a fee. I asked if they could make an exception to the rule due to the circumstances but they refused and were immediately on the defense the minute I walked in the office door. I tried to get Expedia to refund us and the hotel refused. I travel for work often and I've never been charged a late checkout fee, especially since we didn't get any sleep, let alone one per 15 minutes and the majority of that was my husband trying to get all of our stuff downstairs because there's no elevator. Do not recommend. Do not stay here.

I couldn't believe how close we were to Haystack Rock! The parking was a breeze and love the easy access to the sand. The room is not air conditioned, which is fine because it's almost always cool in Cannon Beach, but the constant open windows combined with the lack of air condition make it prone to grow mildew and our room did smell of mildew.

The grounds are massive, and there's a lot of space to explore, but I will say the property wasn't quite the picturesque, "Instagram-worthy" destination I felt it was made out to be online. It's pretty in areas, but overall it feels more like a large, somewhat dated golf resort than the stylish Oregon coastal retreat I was expecting. The lobby and community areas are probably the prettiest part of the property, and they really do make an effort to be dog-friendly. Dogs are welcome throughout most of the lobby/common areas. They aren't allowed upstairs at The Attic, but you can order food from the restaurant and eat with your dog anywhere in the large community area downstairs, which is convenient. We did this one evening, although unfortunately we found the food itself pretty mediocre. I probably wouldn't recommend the restaurant based on the food alone, but the convenience is nice when you're staying on the property. One of the cutest touches is their daily "Yappy Hour," which starts around 3-4 p.m. and includes dog treats and bone broth. Our Pomeranian, Penny, quickly figured this out and started expecting a stop at the Yappy Hour station every single time we walked through the lobby. It's little things like this that really do make the property feel welcoming to people traveling with their dogs. Unfortunately, our first room was a completely different experience. The second we walked in, we were hit with an overwhelming cigarette smell. And I don't mean it smelled like someone had briefly smoked a cigarette in there -- it smelled like someone had been smoking in the room for their entire stay. I didn't see an option for smoking vs. non-smoking rooms when booking, so I'm not sure what happened, but it was BAD. My husband and I actually discussed just dealing with it, but ultimately the smell was so strong that we couldn't. We also wanted to make sure it was documented immediately so there was no chance we could be blamed for it. This is where I have to give a huge shoutout to Kimberly at the front desk. She was fantastic from the moment we checked in -- friendly, welcoming, and immediately giving Penny a treat. When I told her about the room, she was incredibly kind and offered to move us right away, no questions asked. If I were reviewing Kimberly alone, this would absolutely be a five-star review. Our second room was a huge improvement, although it did have a fairly strong musty smell. Ultimately, I think the rooms are just showing their age. They're pretty basic, there's nothing particularly special about them, and they could definitely benefit from a remodel or refresh. I did really appreciate that the outdoor fire pits seemed to be on almost all the time. It's such a simple thing, but it makes the property feel warm and inviting, and it's nice not having to track someone down and ask for them to be turned on. The golf amenities were another disappointment. The course closes at 5 p.m., which already felt surprisingly early, and when we went over to use the driving range around 4 p.m., it was closed despite there still being plenty of daylight. That was a huge bummer because one of the reasons I chose this property was so my husband could at least hit a bucket of balls during our stay. Overall, there are some genuinely nice things about this property, particularly if you're traveling with a dog. The common areas are beautiful, the grounds are expansive, the fire pits are inviting, and the staff we interacted with were wonderful. But between the dated rooms, cigarette/musty odors, mediocre food, limited golf hours, and the property not quite matching the elevated, photogenic experience portrayed online, the stay just didn't live up to what I was expecting.

The PNW environment is beautiful and restorative, and the resort has multiple hiking trails that let you see the entire mountain (though fair warning that many are rigorous hikes and occasionally not conducive to doing them naked. Bring water and bug spray!) The actual resort area is incredible, with a pool, spa, sauna, and clubhouse full of board games, billiards, darts, and other amenities, all open 24/7. There's so much to do, and the community is friendly and full of people of all ages. I won several medals at SportFest and am absolutely going back next year! My one advice is to bring your own food and aloe vera, those were the two facets of my trip I wished I'd been a little more prepared. While it lives up to the name "resort," it is also very much a campsite and it will feel like you are either camping or RVing during your time there. But that's no reason not to visit, it's a wonderful experience and I'll absolutely be coming back!

We are on a summer nudist resort trip. Our first nudist stop in Oregon was Mountaindale Sun Resort…read more(MSR) outside of Portland. This small resort is located in the mountains. They warn everyone that there is a pretty steep 12 degree grade/incline on the entry road so anyone pulling an RV use caution. But once up there, the setting is gorgeously wooded & rustic. It's very tranquil...it feels like a retreat! The resort doesn't have hotels/rooms/cabins (called "bunkies" in the NW) for rent. They recently did get an RV they rent out and may get more options in the future. There are several areas to tent (no elec or water) and plentiful RV spots. We were lucky that we were friends with a member and were invited to stay at her place. It felt like we were sleeping in a tree house the way it was nestled into the mountain. The resort has a clean large pool, an indoor hot tub, sauna, sports court, rec hall, and a gaming room with ping pong and billiards pool tables. People were reading and relaxing in the outside common areas, scattered between the shaded tree-lined perimeter and the colorful gardens. Bathrooms and shower areas were large & clean. There was a laundry area but we didn't notice a common kitchen area for guest use like the other resorts we've been to so far. They did have a few snacks & ice cream for sale, as well as a little "merch" area. The crown jewel of this resort is their trails! They have many volunteers who maintain them. They are very proud of them...as they should be. The entire resort is run via a co-op of volunteers, and most work gets done by the members. The "host" (front desk guy) was very helpful. We arrived the day of their annual board meeting so we felt lucky to meet so many of the "movers & shakers" there - especially a few of the board members! The day included a small local band & a BBQ dinner. The newly renovated rec hall made for a great place for the dinner & social area. We made new friends who invited us for drinks & dessert (and fabulous conversation) that night. It was a great day. MSR is trying to amp up their marketing & activities to boost interest and memberships. A newer event, Sports Fest, had concluded a couple weeks before we arrived & was a huge success. It offered something for everyone - from pickleball clinics & tourneys to a fun poker run through the woods. Bummed we missed it but it'll be an annual event. Check it out if you're on this side of the country next July! They used to have a Trail Run challenge up the mountain side & are discussing bringing it back. A few other things to know: *It's clothing optional except in the pool & hot tub. Most everyone was nude while we were there. *There is a strict no photo policy (stickers are provided/required over your phone cameras). We did get permission from leadership to take these photos and help spread the word about this beautiful resort. *Rates are affordable. *No cell phone service there but WiFi worked well. The resort's motto is "Just Wear A Smile". This & other cute signs were posted to help encourage nudity. It is a good deal colder, especially in the evenings, than FL where we are from so of course there's a bit more leeway (and necessity) regarding clothes. We loved the vibe & the people at MSR & will definitely be back!

She is a two-time breast cancer survivor, and this time, 5 years ago, had gone through a double mastectomy, and then some major reconstruction surgery after that, earlier in the year. I wanted to give her some quality time at the best spa in the region. Our daughter, who recently moved to the area from Virginia, made plans to go with her since she practically lived in spas back in VA and wanted to check out this local Spa. My daughter owns her own business and was in a busy time of year so it took them months to settle on a day when they could both enjoy the day together. The day before they were to go, my daughter was called away on an urgent trip out of the country. The Allison Spa has a 48-hour cancellation policy but we explained this was truly an emergency on my daughter's part. We even offered to show them her plane ticket for her trip. I can understand the business reason for a cancellation policy, employees are brought in to serve clients, space is made available for scheduled guests, it is important in order to make a business run smoothly. It is also a business decision to allow or deny someone not wanting to have to pay the penalty for cancelling an appointment the day before the appointment. That decision that day cost them probable monthly visits from my daughter, and being crossed off my list of places I would recommend people to go to enjoy quality spa services. My wife loved the massage she received and said Sydny was amazing; however, my wife is 5' tall, she had a very hard time in the hydro bath, slipping down in the tub to where she had to hold on to the side for almost the whole treatment to keep from going under. When the assistant came, her comment was: "I'll tell the management". There is a waiting area at the spa check-in counter for people waiting for the clients to come out from the Spa itself. I waited there for about a half hour knowing they would come get me when she came out. She had been out for almost that half hour and hadn't been told I was waiting, I was pretty much ignored. I know, I sound like a complainer, but this was supposed to be a special day, and it wasn't close to what I hoped it would be for her. The cancellation fee cut into her gift card package and she did not get the full benefit of it. I'm trying to be fair to the Allison, and actually my lunch there was excellent and the service and attitude of employees, with the exception of the Spa counter staff, throughout was excellent. The grounds are beautiful and well maintained. However, I am extremely disappointed and still very upset with the treatment my wife, my daughter and I received from the Spa. I hope it was an anomaly for The Allison's sake.

I had no idea I was coming here, even less idea of the services I was getting. But here we are. We started off with Maisy doing my mud treatment Then Trisha who did my massage during a couple treatment Followed by for my hydrofacial What an incredible time here. Honestly it's clean, service so friendly, so professional and very relaxing. I was blessed that I came with some girlfriends before Covid but have not been back since. What a blessing to be surprised by my husband for this lovely treat.

Come to find out that Jeff started at the Metropolitan Steak House in Seattle. Him and I knew a lot of the same people from me going to the Met many many times over the years. 5Rock Ranch is in the middle of nowhere, near Yamhill, Oregon. It's an amazing drive to get there…read moreon dirt/gravel roads (small cars will be just fine, no need for 4 wheel drive). This is an old resort with a grass airstrip as its front lawn, and a stream and wild mountains in the back. If you want a completely unique place to stay, get married, or whatever, this is the place. Fun fact: one of the guys who works there told us that Burt Reynolds used to vacation here back in the 70's!
