For those who review this Norman Marcus as a retail store, you are mistaken. This is their distribution center! Ugh!

Worst customer service - TJ Maxx Irving…read more This is the SECOND time I've had a horrible experience at the TJ Maxx location in Irving, and I'm done shopping here. The employees treat customers like we work for them. Zero respect, zero professionalism. The first incident: I was with a family member in the fitting room. I handed the employee clothes that were already on hangers (just not facing the "right" direction). Instead of simply taking them, the employee spoke to me rudely, switched to Spanish, and lectured me in a disrespectful tone, saying "next time hang them the right way." Completely unnecessary and extremely rude. Today it happened again. I am pregnant, tired, and shopping for maternity clothes. A pair of pants that was already hanging incorrectly fell to the floor when I barely touched it. I immediately picked it up and handed it to the employee. Her response? She told me to hang it myself, with an attitude, disgusting looks, and continued talking in Spanish in a mocking, disrespectful way -- as if she was insulting me. What makes this worse is that I was planning to buy items from the store, but because of the way I was treated, I left the items and changed my mind completely. No store deserves my money after that kind of behavior. I am a customer, not an employee. I should not be spoken to like this, especially while pregnant. Speaking another language to mock or insult customers is unacceptable and unprofessional. This store clearly has a serious problem with staff attitude and training. I felt disrespected, uncomfortable, and humiliated. This was my last visit to this location. I do NOT recommend the TJ Maxx Irving store to anyone.

Having to wait 1+ hr in line is absurd, and not all check outs were open. After several trips where I ended up putting down merchandise and leaving because of long lines, I will avoid this Tjmaxx in the future.

The only bad part about the experience was the WiFi was slow in the back of the store and it made it hard to pull up my Target red card app in order to pay. I logged onto Target guest WiFi and it went a little faster. Cashier explained how the WiFi was slow in the back and was very patient. I remember when I loved going to Target. It was fun! Unfortunately, not anymore. I only come to…read morethis store specifically because it's the only nearby Target, and I don't enjoy my visits. The traffic patterns in the parking lot are a nightmare, in general. Getting in and out, parking and even crossing the street in the crosswalk into the front entrance feels dangerous because another driver might hit me. Unless you visit early in the morning, the parking lot, store and checkouts are crowded. Worst of all, there are frequently items out of stock and missing at this store. I have never once visited and found everything on my list. They used to ask me if I found everything I needed - when I said "no" they never offered to help so I have to wonder why they kept asking me? On this visit (first week of January 2025), there is now a sign that self-check is limited to 10 items or less. That meant that I had to wait in a line to check out with a cashier. He was very nice, but probably the slowest cashier I have ever experienced at any store in my life. This will likely be one of my last visits to this location. There have been some other general corporate changes over the last couple of years that make me consider closing my Target credit card and switching my spending over completely to an alternative: 1. Changes to their coupon policy "to prevent fraud" by insisting that they are in a database means that they no longer accept most of the otherwise valid manufacturers coupons that I bring into the store. Although not how they worded their policy change, functionally they pretty much only accept Target/manufacturer coupons added digitally in their app now. Without coupons, I can often find a better price at a drugstore and spend less of my time doing so.; 2. Changes to the Target app and Circle program. In theory, this would mean that I don't have to spend my time loading coupons in the app every Sunday morning because they are supposedly already active. What I have noticed since the changes is that far fewer coupons are applied to my orders.; and 3. Food Allergy Labeling: When they changed their store brand awhile back, far fewer of their products that *should be naturally gluten-free were marked gluten-free. As someone with Celiac Disease, that means I can't buy them. Other things like salted nuts all are almost all marked as processed with wheat. Again, I can't buy them; and 4. (Not a change.) Target doesn't let you use your flex spending card first to pay only for flex spending OTC purchases like some other retailers. If I buy something like OTC ibuprofen, I need to print, scan and submit the receipt to my flex spending for a reimbursement. By contrast many other retailers, have recently made using flex spending card easier.

My husband and I were in the area and stumbled upon this Dillard's, which is a "Dillard's clearance…read morecenter". The store had brand new clothes that were at least 50-60% off of the original tag. Some of the items were still more expensive than I thought it should be given the dated look and style. For example, a 2024 "Mr. And Mrs." Wine glasses were still like $10! If you gave me that for $1, I wouldn't even want it. There was a huge selection of men's, women's and children's clothing. Not so much home goods. There were some bedding, and curtains, but I did not see any kitchen gadgets or appliances. You have to have patience to go in here and dig through the racks!

Plenty of items at great discount prices, but my first experience here left me scratching my head…read more I found a dress I liked that was missing the inner slip. No big deal.... I grabbed the same dress in another size to show the cashier, just to see if they could offer a small discount. The cashier called over a manager, who quickly shut it down and said they couldn't do any further markdowns. Fair enough..... I wasn't totally sold on the dress anyway. But then it got weird. The manager told me they couldn't sell it at all because it was missing a part. I was stunned. I wasn't asking for anything wild, and I was buying other items too... I was definitely not trying to be difficult. As someone who also works in retail, the whole interaction felt unnecessarily rigid and like a strange power move. Disappointing first visit.

Lady at the fitting rooms on the other hand on a power trip or just looking for an occasion to be rude to people. I walk in to the fitting room and she calls me back with a not friendly tone, then she lectures me on how I should tell her about my items out of respect and continues to lecture me about not to leave hangers inside, etc. I had not done this before and her tone and look were not friendly at all. I decided I wasn't going to let her ruin my day or my shopping so I just followed along. Lady is definitely on a power trip and who knows what other motives. I understand all those rules but I have no idea if different places and different burlingtons all have different ways, plus she was on a full blown conversation that and many other times, but even if she might have been "doing her job" at the end of the day I'm the customer and definitely don't appreciate being lectured especially for stuff I had not done before such as not leaving the hangers inside. The first time I had walked in she wasn't even on her post so I have no idea why she started acting like I was ignoring her presence. Plus even if she was sharing policy, she had to be nice about it.
