Lovely vegan cafe in the Lanes. It is located on the corner of Kensington Place and Gloucester Road, and they have a small private terrace for outside seating as well as pavement tables on the pedestrianised section of Gloucester Road, and of course seating indoors. The cheerful, bright, colour theme is in various shades of green, in keeping with the plant-based theme.
They do a sensibly limited brunch-style menu, including a breakfast (£10.50), Granola with coconut yoghurt and fruit (£7), and different varieties of open sandwich on soughdough toast. We opted for the Summer Poke Bowl (£10)(brown rice, cucumber, turmeric daikon, pickled cabbage, edamame, avocado, rocket, houmous, seeds, miso mayo and tahini dressing; and I had the sweet potato burger (£10) with jackfruit, smoked cheese, caramelised onions, mayo and pickles. Both were very tasty and the portions decently sized.
There's a good range of coffee, teas and soft drinks. All the dishes were freshly prepared and we had friendly and efficient service. I'd very happily go back on my next Brighton visit. read more
