The falafel are freshly cooked, delicious, crispy chickpea balls of delight, dotted with zingy coriander seeds and other tasty herbs and spices. You can get them on their own, served in a pita bread with your choice of Houmous and other dips, or you can opt for the lunchbox, which is my recommendation. With the lunchbox you get falafel, bulgar wheat salad, slaw, salad leaves, houmous, tatziki, babaganoosh, tahini, toasted seeds', Parmesan polenta balls and other delicious dips. M&S Simply Food at Brighton Station is one of the few shops inside the station concourse, it is…read moreprobably one of the better places in the station to grab some to-go food and drinks ahead of a train journey, with rivals Superdrug and WHSmith barely having a food selection, and PRET being the only other place which sells food, but even then they sell a limited menu compared to other stores. This is pretty different from other M&S Simply Food stores as it is a travel store, they specialise in to go food and drinks at really high prices, as I recall a meal deal cost around £5 which is £1.50 more than a regular store, an increase of around 42.8%. I understand travel stores can cost more because of the location, but this seems to just take it a little step further, knowing there is little competition elsewhere in the station and it is from the Marks and Spencer brand, which has a reputation for being towards the higher-end scale for food anyway. The gluten-free selection was awful, they didn't have any wraps or pasta pots which stores usually have, they had two varieties of sandwiches, even then this is quite poor for a Marks and Spencer store, who have much more to choose from. I personally have a strong hate for seeded bread, which is why it frustrates me to see so many places only offering gluten-free sandwiches on seeded bread, and this location is sadly no different. The Katsu was incredible for takeaway Katsu. Easily the best I've had. Better than Pompoko, Itsu, Kokoro and Sushimania. Well... the wait is over! Today I was invited to the opening of the new Leon Restaurant in Brighton which replaces Eat. I think this is a brilliant swap as Eat was far too similar to its neighbour Pret. But Leon is quite different in that it offers warm, hearty food. Setting up just before winter is also probably a good move. The decor is really nice and chilled out. They make good use of the space which I've previously found a bit dark and claustrophobic. Katy and I were greeted by some of the nice workers at Leon and told we could each choose a meal and drink to have on the house. We both went for the Moroccan Meatballs (on my recommendation). I had a lemonade to drink and Katy went for a green smoothie. We also picked up a few sweet treats: my favourite lemon and ginger slice and a billionaire shortbread for Katy. The meatballs are my favourite so I knew I would like them, but Katy had never been to a Leon and she loved it as well. She began talking about how close it is to her work and how she will be able to pop in on breaks for a relatively healthy and warm meal.
