a glass of wine on a table

It was a spur of the moment decision, but I was very pleased with my stop here. They have $5 glasses on happy hour, and an interesting selection. The gentleman working was friendly and informative, and it is on a good corner to sit back, have a drink, and do a little people watching. I have had some hits and misses in the Bishop Arts area, but this is definitely a hit.

And just like that when you're looking to do a wine tasting and relax with friends you find Neighborhood Cellar. This quaint, European esk store/tasting room/wine room is perfect for couples, small group ups and babies. There are rows of bottles to buy so parents of small children beware. We were offered a complimentary wine tasting of a white, rose and red. All delicious and explained beautifully by Josh! We each chose a different flight because we couldn't decide. I had the bubbles flight which had 3 generously poured sparkling wines. It was $10 and well worth it for what you get! My sister ordered the Sauvignon flight and her husband had the deep Cali Red Blend flight. We ended up loving LOVING a red on his flight (Leviathan) so we bought a bottle of it and enjoyed it there. There is no corking fee so sip away. If you don't finish the bottle they will will pack it up and let you take it home without a fee too! Food wise there are your typical (non-cooked) eats. We had a charcuterie cheese board that was alright. I would've liked to see one more cheese, rounding it out to 4 instead of 3 for the money ($16) but it was delicious none the less, it even had honeycomb to boot! Go in for a glass or buy the whole bottle! Great date night or a casual afternoon with friends!! This place is a must!

Very nice and casual setting to drink wine or just purchase and go. Not your traditional wine bar, but if you want a no pressure, causal vibe in bishop arts to drink wine, it's amazing. Their happy hour is perfect. I got two glasses of Pinot Noir for cheap and the staff is beyond friendly and accommodating.

This place was nothing less than Amazing. I came here because I am into wine bars now and I love red wine. Had to try something outside of the norm. It is in a perfect location, with a very intimate low key setting. They have inside and outside setting as well. No need to worry about parking either there is a underground parking garage close by.The staff was very nice and accommodating. The price point was very reasonable and they do offer happy hour as well. HORRAY! What more do you need to hear? Get THERE Already!! It will defiantly be worth your time if you like great Wine, A relaxing atmosphere and Grand Time! F.YI. I had a semi sweet wine if that is your preface the picture of the bottle is in my photos. Enjoy!

We were visiting Dallas for a weekend and ran across this wine shop. The workers were so nice and allowed us to taste several different wines they have featured and gave us great recommendations! We will definitely be back every time we are in Dallas!

Love this place! Roger and Josh were awesome! We did a tasting and took a bottle next door for dinner. Definitely a place to visit in Bishop Arts/ North Oak Cliff

Neighborhood Cellar makes a fantastic addition to the thriving Bishop Arts community. They specalize in bringing wines that hail from Napa Valley in all sorts of forms and varietals. The staff is incredibly friendly and very knowledgeable as they have a Level II sommelier. They also offer complimentary tastings and I was privileged enough to try a sample of a vintage 1946 dessert wine. It was simply divine. Highly recommend this place.

A Happy Hour Hidden Gem in Dallas!…read more We took a day trip to Dallas to see the circus and decided to pop into a nearby bar for drinks and small bites. Parking was a challenge, but we opted for valet and, at only $10, it was totally worth it! We originally planned to check out Bar Eden for happy hour but accidentally walked into Paradiso, which is connected. Bar Eden is a little smaller and has more of an intimate, speakeasy vibe, while Paradiso has a gorgeous, lively atmosphere. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the happy hour specials were perfect for afternoon drinks--cocktails under $10! The margarita was delicious, and the other cocktails were just as pretty as they were tasty. One thing to know: it seems there's only one restroom, so the wait can be lengthy. BUT once you get inside, you'll understand why...because it's basically a girl's dream photo booth! Definitely plan a little extra time for the bathroom selfies. We didn't try the food this time, but the ambiance and music were on point. The outdoor seating is beautiful and elegant, although it was way too hot for daytime lounging during our visit. Overall, I'd absolutely come back--especially for happy hour! Great drinks, beautiful atmosphere, and plenty of photo-worthy moments.

My brother, sister-in-law and I had a genuinely bad experience here. We arrived around 6:00pm to a…read morenearly-empty restaurant to take advantage of a drink and burger deal that they were promoting, and were promptly told that they didn't have any seating for three people. We asked if we could pull up a chair to one of the tables on the patio (which was fully empty), and they begrugedly agreed. We sat down and waited. And waited some more. And then some more... After about 10 minutes my brother went up to the bar and asked if a server would be coming to take our order, and was told that they were busy (they did not look busy at all) but would get to us ASAP. Another 10 minutes went by and, as no one had still come to see us, we elected just to leave. They said nothing as we walked out of the restaurant. Aside from pulling up a chair on the (again, totally empty) patio, I have no idea what we did that could have made them so upset at us. The whole experience was really odd and super off-putting, particularly so as there was no communication at all from the wait staff.

I had a wonderful experience at Blind Bishop!…read more The wine selection was outstanding! The atmosphere felt warm and intimate. It's definitely a spot I'd recommend to anyone who enjoys discovering new wines in a cozy setting. Service is outstanding as well)

Charming little wine bar newly open right outside of the main Bishop Arts scene. They offer a…read moredelightful little tapas menu and a few wine flights, including a blind flight that is perfect for budding sommeliers who want to test their palates. We tried a few bites - the patatas bravas, which are thinly fried potato chunks lightly dusted with paprika and topped with garlic aioli. It sounds simple, but was ridiculously addictive, and we found ourselves ordering another serving that night! We also tried the steak, which was perfectly cooked to our desired temperature (medium rare), but was otherwise pretty simply prepared, served atop steak sauce. And we also tried the burrata which came as two small pieces of toasted bread, juicy burrata and charred broccoli (also a simple but satisfying dish). All of the dishes are pretty small, so you would probably need to order at least a handful for a couple to feel pretty satiated, but that makes it fun to try more wine at the same time ;) We were curious about the pork belly, which the owner proclaimed to another guest that night to be "her favorite item on the menu." We can't wait to try that on our return visit (with another order or two of the patatas bravas, and maybe the tostadas too!). Definite recommend for a cute date night off the beaten path!
