My Fiancé and I had been wanting to try this place out for a bit now and since we were in the area that day we decided to call it date. Once you walk in, you seat yourself, find a spot and you will be greeted pretty quickly. We started at a two seated table near the window grab some wine and just sat there for a bit just talking. We ordered another glass of wine and some tacos and asked if we would sit outside on the patio instead because my Fiancé gets cold quick and they accomodated. We ordered two fish tacos and one carnitas to try it out and the fish tacos were delicious, the carnitas was also, but the fish tacos were the star. If you are ever in the Bishop Arts District, you will have find this little gem and enjoy some good service, good tacos and wine. read more

It's fine, it's more of a vibes and chill kind of spot, rather than a foodie spot. The food and drinks were plain. I got a frozen sangria but it wasn't strong. Ive heard great things about this spot for a while and finally made it last night. I did also get a chance to try try their offering at the recent Dallas arboretum food and wine festival. Its a cute spot on the edge of bishop arts. There is a paid parking lot next door although they appear to do parking validation which i didn't know until id already paid. They were hosting trivia night doing a fundraiser with WISE which is why i showed up. There was complimentary prosecco with donations and overall it was a fun night. I will say when i arrived i was a bit annoyed. It was my first time there and when i said i was there for trivia i was told i could sit at the bar and would have to wait for my whole party to arrive. When my party arrived (regulars) they seemed to think that was crazy so maybe that policy depends on who you are. When i sat down at the bar i was ignored. I had to ask someone for a menu and i was directed to a QR code and then as far as ordering i was sitting there waiting for someone to notice me again for several minutes. Again, they weren't super busy. I finally was able to order and a few minutes later my friend showed up and we sat at our table. I ended up with a mexican coke, elote and avocado tostadas. The food was decent. Not exceptional. I wish the tostada had chunks of avocado instead, it was a thin later on the bottom. The elote was good. Maybe i just didn't order the right thing. My friends love the place and it appears to be a neighborhood staple. I will come back again with them and I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt with this review. Went on a Saturday afternoon, there was hardly anyone there. I started off with Presseco and the Tuna Tostada which was really good. I was able to try the seafood stuff jalapeno which was also really good. I also ordered 3 tacos which I wasn't a big fan of. I ordered the fried avocado taco and 2 shrimp tempura tacos. I feel like the shrimp were overly battered which took away from the shrimp being in the taco. The mini tamales were ok, not our favorite. Really enjoyed my first visit at Taco y Vino! Nestled in the beautiful Bishop Arts neighborhood, the wine bar gave me warm vibes the second we walked in. The dining area/bar is tight. We came in around 2pm on a Monday and it was the perfect time to grab a table. But from the looks of it, the back patio looked like it could hold tons of people. We chose inside, but as we walked in, we saw a back patio, and we asked to sit out there, but we were told that we had to sit up front first. So we find a table inside. The addition of jalapeño rings and artichokes was great. We didn't care for the side sauce but really, all you need are the squeezes of fresh lemon. The elote was also terrific. I loved my day here. First off, daily brunch special is wonderful. Came here on a Friday with a friend who was in from out of town and had brunch at 2 pm. This was our first visit to Taco Y Vino and we planned our day to eat here based on a recommendation from our daughter. After scanning the QR code for the menu on a vinyl record we were immediately trying to decide between 3 of the dishes. I opted for the Birria tacos, my bride got 3 tacos (chicken|barbacoa|carnitas). As she is very picky about the meat being lean, she hoped for at least one good taco, but was pleasantly surprised that all 3 were lean, flavorful and gone quickly! She loved them!! My birria, was a core memory moment. The flavor of these tacos were unreal! Even days later as I write this, I am still thinking about those birria tacos. Flat out amazing! The cooks they have in the kitchen are flat out making magic behind the scenes. ...oh it's not over. The churros. Overall, pretty good, the taco trays were good. I got the ahi tuna, tempura shrimp, and the brisket taco which was flavorful. All of them were good but not the biggest. I had their house red wine and a wine cocktail. I wasn't too much of a fan of the wine cocktail. It was a little too bubbly for me and too sweet. They also had sweet and subtle guitarist playing for the night. My advice is to get there early if you have a big party, the indoor area is not that large, but I think they have outdoor seating in the back, if you don't mind not hearing the music. It's located right before you get really far into bishop arts perfect location with a lot to park beside it. It's not very big inside but lots of character. I really enjoyed our waiter he was super nice and talkative and even told me about the drink specials. Can't beat a $5 glass of rose'. I order the ceviche for an appetizer and it was really good. Lots of shrimp with plenty of chips for it. For my meal I got three tacos. My waiter suggested I try the double decker for one of them and trust me he needed a tip just for that recommendation. This place is full of personality and Excellent Food. You must have the bean and cheese quesadillas!!! One of the most satisfying foods!! The atmosphere is 3 dimensional. The sitting out front is quaint with a sweet little cat that visits regularly. The bar restaurant area is fun and exciting, with a great DJ on Saturday nights. I've heard pretty good things about Taco y Vino, and yes, it lives to the hype! I was in the area and decided to try the beef choriqueso, brisket guiso, and tex-mex. Here's my thoughts: The beef choriqueso was my favorite. One of the best tacos I've ever had. The chorizo was tender and flavorful. The cheese is grilled, leaving a wonderful caramelized cheese crust. It's topped with grilled onions that compliment the rest of the taco perfectly. Next, I wasn't the biggest fan of the brisket guiso. I usually love corn, but the pickled corn overpowered the rest of the taco. And last was the tex-mex. It's served on a crispy taco shell and was a nice refresher, but I don't think I'd order it again. I also loved the salsa they served with the tacos. I could taste the deeply developed flavors of the other ingredients aside from just the spice. Customer service was good. My only gripe is that the indoor seating isn't very spacious, especially if you go during a crowded time. I would definitely go here again the next time I visit the Bishop Arts area. read more
