Overall, the store looked shabby and the shelves were not stocked. Maybe there are renovations going on, so won't judge too harshly there. The few staff working were not very friendly. When it was my turn, the pharmacist had trouble with the computer and seemed grouchy. All of this is tolerable. What bothered me was after the pharmacist pulled the covid booster needle out of my arm, they went to discharge the cartridge from the needle. I saw a large arch of fluid shoot out of the needle. That was vaccine that was supposed to be in my arm. I didn't say anything at the time, but wish I had. Left there very unhappy, indeed. I won't be going back to Walgreens in Catskill for anything in the future.

I visited the store on Saturday, December 11, 2021, to pick up some medicines for my wife. They were controlled substances and subject to some restrictions. When I arrived at the store on Saturday I found the pharmacy hours had been severely reduced. The pharmacy was closed on both Saturdays and Sundays. It also appeared that weekday hours were also reduced. Other Walgreens stores were unable to honor the prescription because the medicines were controlled substances. I did obtain them on Monday. I do not argue against Walgreens changing hours of operation for whatever reason. (The stated cause was that pharmacists were not available.) My real concern is that there was no notification to customers, such as me, about the weekend shutdown. We have received many phone calls and emails from the store promoting items or services. I suggested that the store hire weekday pharmacists from other Walgreens at double the normal salary for Sunday, December 12, at least. There seemed to be general apathy in the store. Adjacent signs on the closed pharmacy windows indicated that the pharmacy was closed on weekend days while the adjacent sign indicated normal hours.

This local Stewart's shop always has specials depending on events taking place in town. The clerks are all very nice and friendly, The stores carry a large array of grocery items, plus their own brand of milk products and ice cream (New York State's biggest industry - for those who may not be aware of it - is not tourism, but actually dairy farming, producing 73% of the nations yogurt, among other items). Getting back to Stewart's, though, they are a very community-oriented company and they really try to please their customers. This location is right off the main highway, and offers gasoline, too, so it gets pretty busy here on the weekends with folks stopping in for a quick bite with their fill-ups. They serve grab-n-go breakfast items, sandwiches, hard-packed ice cream in many flavors, coffees, snacks, candy, smokes and lottery tickets. Considering their proximity to the road, they very thoughtfully also offer a small section of emergency automotive supplies for motorists. Although they do not stay open all night, they are a good, reliable staple, and a welcome sight for travelers and locals alike in these vacation regions of New York who need gas and food along their way.

Prices don't fluctuate much from sandwich to sandwich, station to station and in a larger scope of pricing, gas, soft drinks, cigarettes and firewood (as it is November) are stable among the service stations of Greene County. I find the differences to boil down to the human factor, the workers who welcome me every morning with a genuine smile and their verbal greeting. And when they are not working, they are cleaning up in and out, Cumberland is always spotless. My purchases were not of any massive variances, the basics for my little fact finding trip and what a wonderful week of weather we had. The $1.07 large coffee started me off daily and it's spectacular, the double ice that was fetched for me from the outside for my every other day food and beverage cooking in my Yeti. To conclude, you're money feels very appreciated here by and your appreciated here and it's just not always that way and it sure feels nice.

Was confused with the new styling of the pumps. Although I saw the scanner to scan some type of card, when I went to insert my card (like I used to have to do to most Speedway places) it took it. Are the new pumps designed to scan the barcode of the card without inserting the card or what is up with that barcode scanner (what is it used for)? (The last time I was forced to use a brand new updated pump at a Speedway, the pumps pay-at-the-pump was down and couldn't get my GasBuddy card to work correctly(another station at another time), but that astounded me finally.

I came in here the other day looking to purchase several dollars of gas for the car, when once I…read moregot in, I was warmly greeted to other customers waiting in line. Well, I do thank this location, because this location had an employee that opened up a new line so that I could pass directly into a line so I wouldn't have to wait to pay for the service. Maybe seeing as I had cash and had the Gas Cash Card in hand (and handy), maybe triggered them to see that I didn't pose a major threat to making the transaction be easy for them to complete. They didn't ask or remind me that I had a Speedy Rewards account I could use at the register, but I remembered the card just after handing them the Gas Cash Card and they completed the transaction smoothly. The money was added and I got a receipt as I asked. I went out and pumped. I had no real problems there. The ground still looks a little old and predates the Speedway pumps, but they work. The fact that the Walmart across the street helps, makes this place a go-to place when I'm in Catskill. I had been here before, but it had been a long time and this time was different : they didn't realize that this time it would be the experience I'd be reviewing about.

Thankfully Abbie is clearly an amazing employee. She made us fresh sandwiches for us to eat before our three hour drive. The Palenville Market was open on Thanksgiving, preventing what surely would've been a multiple homicide at our house. And it's a great little convenience store that consistently comes in handy. In addition to being available for last minute ice cream purchases, they also sell everything you need to go camping: beer, ice...well, I think that's all you need to go camping. S'mores supplies too, I suppose. To top it off, the nice gentleman who runs this place will call you "my friend," and won't say a word about the fact that you came in wearing your mother's slippers.
