Veggie Planet is the premier choice for Indian fusion vegetarian cuisine. Even though their samosas…read moreare entirely plant-based, Veggie Planet offers the best samosas you'll find anywhere. We also really enjoy the live Pani Puri station! Guava and mango flavoured water are two of my favourites. I highly recommend Veggie Planet if you are seeking a snack or just a fun evening meal.

Christmas in March!…read more My best friend and I were supposed to meet up before Christmas. We both got busy, especially with my being stateside for the holidays. When I returned, she was away. We were both free in mid-March to exchange Christmas gifts and catch up. She lives in Peterborough. We tend to meet partway. I suggested this Veggie Planet in Ajax. She was game. We both had never been to any Veggie Planet location. I had no problem finding a parking spot in this plaza. I backed into a spot a few doors down from this eatery. I waited for my friend to arrive. Once she did, we walked in. Being our first time, we went with a pizza. I asked an extremely helpful woman behind the counter what size would be good for us. She recommended a medium pizza. We got the following items: - Medium Indian masala pizza - Onion rings - Kawa nuggets - Masala soda (sweet with a hint of saltiness) - Diet Pepsi My friend wanted onion rings. I originally wanted to get the kawa (soy) drumsticks. The female staffer recommended the nuggets instead. Interesting. I went with her suggestion. For the masala soda, she said that I could get it either sweet or salty. I asked if I could get a bit of each. So, my drink ended up being sweet with a hint of saltiness. I paid with a credit card. The transaction was smooth. She said that she'd bring the food and drinks over. Nice! We grabbed a table and chatted. Our drinks came out first. I loved my masala soda. It was slightly sweet. It did have a bit of saltiness to it. The masala was perfect with the fizzy soda. I just wish that this drink were offered in a larger size. I ended up getting a cold Diet Pepsi an hour later. It was perfect. Our medium Indian masala pizza came next. By default, it had tomatoes, onions, and green bell peppers. My friend is vegan. We made sure that we got vegan cheese. The pizza was yummy. The cheese melted nicely. However, with this vegan cheese, you will never get a stretchy cheese pull. In hindsight, this pizza would have been even better with protein. Kawa would have worked nicely. Luckily, we had kava nuggets. They were delicious. They were crispy and yummy. You couldn't tell that they were soy. The dipping sauce was yummy. I liked the onion rings. They were so crispy. They were enjoyable to eat. We spent at least a couple of hours here. I provided feedback on how fabulous the food was and how helpful the woman was when I bought my Diet Pepsi. She smiled and seemed happy. There is a washroom that's a single stall at the back of this eatery. It's the type where you press a button to lock the door and another button to unlock it. A light outside the washroom lets the world know that it's either vacant (green) or occupied (red). My friend used it first and said that it was clean. I used it afterwards. A customer tried opening the door twice while I was using the washroom. I actually said something the second time and she stopped tugging at the door handle as if her life depending on it. When I was done, I locked eyes with the woman who was clueless about the lights. Other than weird washroom woman, we had a great time here. I still want to try the drumsticks and get the masala soda again. So good! (139)

The staff are so helpful and kind. We go weekly these days and it's the highlight of my week! Mathilda is wonderful and helped accommodate a meal package for a friend who was absolutely thrilled with everything she got. I can't wait to go when we can sit inside and each, post pandemic! :) My current favourite: The power bowl with bbq unpork on top! Fantastic!

But there are some key staples that are now harder to get. I think the biggest disappointment are now: 1) Though prices have remained the same, portions are much smaller and have gotten smaller over the last year. Whereas I found that getting the mini sampler was enough food for me to be full, now there's a gap where I still feel the hunger. 2) Their butter chikn isn't great. The consistency is good, but the flavour is bland under the cover of heat. 3) Clarity in their menu has deteriorated slightly. The last few times I've gone in, there's been confusion about portioning and what's what. I'm kind of saddened as I feel like the quality of overall experience is just different. I might have to find somewhere new to get my fix.

You can see into the bright, spacious kitchen as well. Once you are facing the menu, you are instantly overwhelmed. SO MANY CHOICES! The lovely lady that helped us was able to narrow it down. Salads are sold by weight and they have lots of sandwiches, soups, burgers and desserts ALL ORGANIC. The prices were reasonable and the portions are good. My mom and I both got wraps and half a container of salad. I got a Veggie Wrap with Smoked Tofu Salad and my mom got a BBQ Chicken Wrap with Roasted Eggplant Salad. We were stuffed. We swapped half a wrap so we could try both. Both were winners! The chicken was real BBQ chicken, lots of greens and some veganese(vegan mayo, but you wouldn't know it). My veggie wrap was hearty, full of roasted peppers, goat cheese, eggplant and sprouts. The service was great! Food was excellent! I'm definitely going to try one of their drinks next time I'm in. While I was eating, I had a chance to read their extensive drink menu and I've picked one out for my next visit! Really impressed! I'll be back!

The hot chocolate was horrid. Oily and bitter. I sat with my son as he ate his fully vegan lunch. All was good until we noticed the little green cabbage worm nesting in the spinach. Extra protein maybe? Thankfully I passed on lunch.

We were greeted…read morein fine, friendly fashion, and my husband and I both enjoyed the special cocktail of the day. My son had a Moscow Mule that was jazzed up in a very cool way. My daughter stuck to the tried-and-true diet pepsi, and our friendly waitstaff joked with her about her sobriety! Guess who drove home? The rest of us then moved on to the excellent wine list. For dinner, I had the very delicious lamb shank with greens, polenta, and honey-sweet heirloom beets. My daughter enjoyed a veal steak and my son enjoyed his succulent, heirloom roast chicken. My husband found his seafood pasta over-salted (he really is sensitive to that - I like my food well salted). I suggested that he ask for a wedge of lemon, but our friendly server offered an even better, bold suggestion: sambal oelek. True to word, it cut through the saltiness. He was so pleased. I was so surprised by this idea. I'll have to give sambal oelek a bit more consideration. The appetizers and desserts were delightful, and the entire meal was so fun and creative! I think that I'll come here on my birthday every year! See my previous reviews to find out my history at the wonderful KB Food! My wife ordered this vegetarian squash dish and she loved it. I ordered the steak and the cook was perfect but I found the sauce overpowering. It's personal preference, I like my steak with just salt and pepper without sauce. My fault for not reading the menu correctly. The sides of purée and veggies were great. Overall KB hits it out of the ballpark and is so much better than the chain upscale eateries.

I love the pre-fixe, chef's choice dining style where you go in, there's no decisions for you to make (besides beverages) and you just enjoy! You begin with a delicious amuse bouche style bite and we received two courses of pasta. The pasta and udon noodles are freshly made and tasted delicious. HUGE fan of chewy fresh pasta. The udon was a little underdone, we had some floury bites, but honestly, the mushroom and truffle sauce just covered that right up! We got to finish up with a celery root pizza, and I was in heaven. This was an amazing pizza. I wish I could order this all the time, but that's the beautiful of their seasonal, changing menus! I loved that someone came out to introduce each of the dishes. Knowing where the ingredients came from and how the chef was inspired to make certain twists was really fun. I certainly appreciated the design of each dish more. Considering what a unique experience this is, I'm really grateful that they try to keep it priced reasonably per person so more people can enjoy the experience. I hope they're able to keep it going for years to come. I'd love to come back for date nights more often.
