I write this review as I'm still savoring the aftertaste of my delicious meal. I ordered their 10" (pizza) cheese bread and 10" sausage, garlic(not listed as an option for toppings but a must!), and banana pepper pizza. My first bite was the cheese bread dipped in a cup of their wonderfully sweet homemade sauce. I knew good things where coming my way with that pizza. The pizza was everything the cheese bread led me to believe it would be. I thoroughly(and completely) enjoyed my meal. I'm almost amazed I just ate 20" of pizza stuff. I'm almost sad the aftertaste is dissipating from my palate. The sense of humor in their decor is everything I love. Some may call the signage obnoxious I would call it delightfully refreshing in a world that takes itself too seriously. Other then a couple objectionable customers and their loud opinions this place was amazing! The waitstaff was eager to greet a new face and made me feel like I was at my favorite pizza place despite being 200 miles from home. No question I will be coming back everytime I am in the area. read more

Stopped here for dinner after spending the day with a friend at the Gilmore Car Museum. My friend and I were seated quickly. Our server Clara was very helpful with suggestions of the house specialty dishes. We settled on 2 pizzas: Captain Mac and Dill Pickle. Both were delicious! The Captain Mac is a great traditional thin crust pizza LOADED with toppings. The Dill Pickle is truly unique: cream cheese ranch sauce, ham, bacon and dill pickles and a blend of cheeses. The saltiness of the pickles really pulls this dish together! I was very impressed and will eat here again. read more

Neds at Gull Lake was the best date night spot we've been to all year! Beautiful setting across from the glorious shores of Gull Lake, we ate on the patio and got to stare at the view as the sun set - tremendous! Restaurant was busy, but we were seated within 10 minutes and began enjoying tasty, and affordable, cocktails. We LOVED the smoked wing appetizer, and the entrees (pesto turkey sandwich and a pickle pizza) were yummy, too! Had a little morsel of ice cream before we left, and can't wait to come back! That building is terrific! Their transformation from itty bitty to what they have now has been a sight to behold. The fact that it is across from Gull Lake public access also a plus. View of the lake, very nice. Beer selection, very good. Service, honestly, hard to beat. (We sat at the bar, they did not have a choice but to wait on us hand and foot! I'm sure it would've been just as good tableside) Wings...smoked perfectly and were phenomenal. I ordered the Foul Pest (turkey, provolone, artichoke hearts, fresh basil pesto on wheat), was very good! Comes with a bag of Lay's chips (maybe something more 'local' would be a nice touch?) Husband ordered their half sized Big Dripper, which was kinda bready, but he said tasted like "a proper dipped sandwich" (that's high praise, by the way!) To round it all off, we did order a small pizza (thin crust, the way we like it, with ground beef, spinach and artichoke hearts) and liked that very much as well. Sorry but Disappointing. Food was underwhelming....chips/salsa reminded me of El Paso salsa in a jar and chips were pedestrian, lacking saltiness. My Burger, cooked medium rare, was unimpressive and my friends "medium" was under cooked. Other concern was multiple polite requests to add soap to men's restroom but still not sure if there is any in there. Maybe need to try again and order the pizza and different appetizer. read more

Place is a solid stop on the Gull Lake lap. Foods fantastic. Had some of the best pizza this summer on their outside patio. Only downside is my gut can't handle the rich food and require a priest / restroom after every visit. 10/10 will come again. read more

First time at NEDS and only for to-go Pizza. Ordered one meat and one veggie pizzas. We arrived on time I had requested for pick up. The bar/dinning room looked great, and cozy. We were greeted in a very friendly manner by the bar tender. She looked up our order and brought it right out. I had preordered it 4 hours earlier and used their website. The Website awesome easy to navigate and understand. Ordering EXACTLY what we wanted was easy and intuitive. Checkout was a breeze all in all kudos to whoever chose this website design and order system. A failing of many other food places sadly. As I walked to the car I noticed the pizzas were only moderately warm, not at all hot. Having another 15 min. Drive I was concerned the pizza being cold. It was pretty cool when we ate it. The taste was ok. I had expected something more after all the rave comments I'd read. But we didn't eat in so that may have affected the taste. The problem of not getting hot pizza is pretty common so I can't give a lower rating to NEDS. read more

I've eaten at Ned's a few times and this last time made it worth leaving a good review. We were craving thin crust pizza and much to our surprise, their pizzas are thin crust! You can get hand tossed upon request so keep that in mind. I may have liked the pizza to cook maybe another minute or two but it was very good the way it was. They do cut them party style like most thin crust pizzas. We also ordered Cheese Sticks for an appetizer which is pizza crust, oil & garlic and cheese (garlic bread on pizza dough). Loaded Tots are also a great option. How can you go wrong with tots? Especially tots loaded like nachos! The order of Nachos Supreme is huge, shareable of course and really good. We were lucky enough to order smoked wings once. It seems like we come too late and they're usually sold out of wings. I have no complaints, they were good wings. I haven't been there for Sunday BBQ but I hear it's really good. A friend mentioned that the ribs are really delicious and tender so I better make it there to be the judge on that one. I think this is also a situation where you should come early in case they sell out. They do offer food to go which is great. We've ordered appetizers and sandwiches before to go and the wait staff actually walks them across the street and meets you at the boat launch if you're out enjoying Gull Lake! If you're going to complain about the dining environment of NEDS, then you've already misunderstood the essence of where you are. You come to NEDS for a wide variety of beer and bar food. The pizza had a PROFOUND effect on the rest of our evening as it was as delicious as it was affordable. NEDS is more about the company and the experience rather than the environment. There aren't many options in this area, but this primarily pizza joint has a great beer selection and really good pizza. They have a rotating tap list and amazing bottle selection. The pizza is home made with lots of house specialities. read more

I ordered food online and it indicated that it would be ready in an hour. After an hour I called the restaurant and asked them to bring it to water. After waiting 25 minutes I went up to the restaurant where I was told that they had given the food to someone else. They said they could remake the food and it would ready in 1/2 hour. While I understand mistakes happen, the management took no responsibility. There was no apology - I was told it's difficult for them to manage and made it seem like it was my fault. A simple apology or some empathy would have gone a along way. It's crazy to think that a restaurant can be managed like this. read more

This place was packed when I showed up to get my to go order. People on the patio outside and the inside was also full. The staff was very friendly. Price's were reasonable. NEDS is a hidden gem on the north end of Gull Lake. Food is awesome and the patio is relaxing. We love it here!

A week ago I stopped by what the locals refer to as "NEDS" for ice cream and was struck by how cute this little place is with a cozy diner feel and seating for 35 indoors (but much more seating on the patio). So I took a friend there the following Monday for lunch. They have daily specials and on Monday bottles of Michigan microbrew beers are $3 and 8" grinders are $6.50. I chose the Mediterranean grinder that featured chicken, mushrooms, onions, black olives, artichokes, feta cheese, spinach and their own garlic parmesan oil. My friend chose the Chicken Parmesan grinder. We both chose a wheat bun which is made right there on the premises. The bread was WON-DER-FUL, tasty, textured and fresh. The ingredients blended perfectly and the 8" size was more than I could eat at one sitting. The chicken was moist, tender and generously portioned. The grinders were served with a small bag of chips and a pickle. The service was spot on and the place we very clean. Already planning my return to NEDS for dinner next Monday! read more

Ned's is a very cool place, new, trendy for the area, clean, nice view from the patios. Worth a look if you're near Gull Lake.

I truly understand Covid and staff issues but that was not the case here. They were busy when we got there and we put our name in waited 40 minutes and by then the place was pretty cleared out. We got seated and then waited another half hour with not one person to acknowledge us. No one even stopped by to let us know they would be with us. The staff would look over at us every once in a while but never even come over to get a drink order. We got up and walked out and still no one said one word to us. Unless you have several hours to wait on dinner I highly don't recommend this place!! Ok read more
