This is a review for the Branchburg NJ location. I am reading all the negative reviews, and I guess it depends on area and crew. In Central NJ, specifically the one based in Branchburg, I had an excellent experience. The price they gave for cleaning and fixing my gutters blew way the competition's estimates. In fact, one company said, "Go with them. you can't do better." I was home when the two gentlemen came. They were polite, friendly, did their work and were here the better part of an hour. After they took the time to walk around with me. They did an excellent job cleaning all the gutters and fixing one that was pulling off. They took photos and sent the report as well. There was no hard sell on the outset. No hard sell (or any sell) for future or "necessary" work. Customer service was good to work with when I called with questions. read more

Horribly rude crew. Always here at the crack of dawn, making as much noise with the leaf blower as possible. Revving it over and over as they stand on the ground doing nothing but test it works. Neighbors use them a few times a year and they stomp around on our rowhome roof, blow junk into our yard, and make as much noise as physically possible, then leave us with a mess to clean up after being so rudely awoken. Maybe schedule some development houses for first thing in the morning so you aren't directly on a neighbors roof at 7:30am read more

They scam customers. They show up when customers are not home and leave without doing the work. Then send a bill for twice as much as other businesses. SCAMMERS read more

i used them once about a year ago we set a date and i took a vac day to be there then they changed the day and i couldnt be there. So unfortently for me no one was here. there was tell tale signs of something was done but, again we had no rain for 3 months after. first rain water pouring out of the gutters!!! never will i or you should ever use these people. eeeevvvvveeeerrr!!!! read more

I am shocked by the negative reviews. If I had seen these before I would not have called them. I did call them and I am glad I did. 25 years ago I had a patio put on the back of my house with an extended roof. There was no rain gutter on one side of this roof, but it was not a problem until last year. During heavy downpours, enough water would fall off that roof that it would fill up a window well and go into the basement. From this, I concluded that global warming is real and I had to do something about it. As a stop-gap I put a rain barrow under to catch the rainwater but it would fill up and again threaten the basement. I called these folks yesterday at 10 am and they gave me a reasonable cost estimate. I told them I wanted to be there to explain my situation and details of what I wanted. They showed up within an hour! They installed the new beautiful gutter within the next hour. I can only say good things about them and their work. read more

After you end their service with you the company keeps calling every day, any time of the day from a different phone number each time. I blocked numbers, I called and asked to be removed from their system but Eric B. told me they can only out the number in the "No Call list" (wonder why a professional company would need such a list..) yet the calls keep coming. This harassment and very aggressive behaviour. I would never recommend hiring them. read more

they stink then they also try to tell you that you need this that and the other thing and charge you a fortune. There are no bargain that's for sure. My recommendation is use a local person who you know such as your landscaper read more

I am absolutely shocked at the level of customer service. I called to have gutters replaced on the front of my house. There are a few 90 degree angles, and the notes were extremely clear what needed to be done. I asked to be home for it but they didn't call ahead of time and just showed up. Well, when I got home i realized they replaced the gutter on my garage!!! Not my main house. Garage is one straight piece no angles. I called customer service and they basically told me I have no idea what I'm talking about. There's no way they replaced the gutter on the garage. The notes were very clear. So that's when I told them I have a camera and it clearly shows the wrong gutter being changed. The CS agent still didn't believe me and had to send a manager out. Next they didn't want to refund me, they wanted to take the cost of the garage gutter and remove it from the cost of replacing the main house gutter. At this point I knew I couldn't trust them and just demanded my money back. They fought me on it for a couple days and then finally refunded it all. Needless to say, I found a new gutter team and they replaced it correctly and efficiently. read more

Wasn't a cleaning Rather an install Excellent job. Excellent price Up and done and no messes to clean up. Highly recommend Ned Stevens Gutter install services. Could not have been easier for me ! Zero upsell chatter : just straight across talk and upfront on details / cost and timely service Now that's what I prefer in business dealings. Straight talk ! read more

Can't remember the last time I encountered such rude workers. The man rang my doorbell, didn't introduce himself and yelled "move your cars." He was awful. I went across the street and took a zoom call to which he came across the street and yelled that I better not be filming him. I wasn't filming he but he threatned to leave and walk off the job and told me to go inside! I understand everyone has bad days but he came in looking for an argument. I called customer service to tell them about it and they were very receptive about it. I think the office staff is probably nice and well trained but the workers are not. The workers also sprayed my AMERICAN FLAG AND RUNIED IT! Bleach, I think. I'll never recommend them. read more

Gutter service scammers. I had them clean my gutters once 4 years ago. Had not talked to them since, get a bill in the mail for $400 out of the blue telling me they came to clean with no authorization in 4 years. I told them I am not paying as I already have a different service and they have been calling daily now. Highly recommend to stay away from this company and NEVER agree to anything reoccurring. They are threatening collections which I would gladly fight before paying them. Clearly with all these bad reviews others have had similar experiences with Neds. read more

Never. Again. They are very deceptive in their marketing practices. The person taking the order was a real charmer. Once they take your money, it becomes an exercise in Kafka-esque Idiocracy. I will contact my credit card company to dispute the fee, have written the BBB and will be writing the State AG Division of Consumer Affairs. This is in the top five worse companies I've ever dealt with. What a mistake. read more

Never again. the guys had to be called back a second time to clean off my deck after cleaning the gutters.Still dirty when I got home. They did the bare minimum and still left gunk on the back of my house! read more

Called them to request a simple gutter repair. After a storm the gutter was hanging by a thread. They told me they would be there within a week. It took 2 months!! In that time I made several calls asking for an update. Each time I was told it would be a week. Now they don't don't stop calling offering other unneeded and unrequested services. I finally had to block their number to stop the calls. Next time I'd rather crawl up on the roof with a roll a duct tape then call this sorry excuse for a business again. read more

Asked for gutter cleaning and got enrolled in twice a year service (they tried 4 times a year...) Showed up unannounced, spent 5 minutes doing nothing as gutters are not exposed to debris. Canceled the subscription by email and phone call. STAY. AWAY. read more

Avoid at all costs. They bought out a company that I had previously used. Their work crew supposedly showed up on December 10 (while I was out of the state) and--again supposedly--cleaned my gutter despite never having made an appointment with me. The photo below shows the kind of work they did, assuming they did any. Despite not having made an appointment for a cleaning, they are billing me. A highly unethical company in my view. read more

Ned Stevens Gutter Cleaning - The kind of gutter "cleaning" Ned Stevens does. - Gutter Services Near Me - Burlington Township, New Jersey

Horrible... They cleaned my gutters fine but that's where it ends. They told me my gutters were in bad shape and needed replacing. My friend is a building contractor who inspected my gutters and said they were in perfect condition. I could see the elderly fall for this scam... Now it gets worse ...I'm bombarded with texts, emails and robo calls...even after I blocked them. A lawyer friend wants me to record all the texts and calls...if it takes a day in court then so be it... read more

I had the company do gutter cleaning. I'd used them once before, a few years ago, and they did a good job. But price is also a consideration and in the interim I'd gone with another company that offered a package deal on gutters and roofing. They seemed to be okay but nothing special. So I went back with Ned Stevens. I don't have precise dates. But I called (pretty sure it was November 8) and was able to schedule an appointment for November 10. That was nice; sometimes some companies require an appointment weeks in advance. I provided my credit card so that the cleaning could be accomplished (and charged) even if no one was at home. So we'd also been given a time frame, probably something like "Noon to three." I received a text at 11:57 am: Dear Customer, this is Ned Stevens letting you know that Raul's crew is on the way for your scheduled Gutter Cleaning service! We could arrive within a few minutes to an hour. If for any reason we are unable to perform your job, we will notify you." Raul's crew showed up about 15 minutes later. They proceeded to clean the gutters. They bagged the leaves in a couple of trash bags and left. It all went very smoothly and efficiently. I do have to comment on the overall low ratings that Ned Stevens receives. In fact, when I told my wife that I'd scheduled with them, she looked their reviews up online and asked me, "Can we cancel?" So I get that. What may be happening--I don't know for sure--is that there are many different companies operating under the Ned Stevens umbrella. We live in Northern Virginia and I noticed that the really bad reviews generally seemed to come from the New Jersey area. So I suspect that there are wide variations in the quality of work done by the different operations. So it may be helpful to look at the geographic settings of the reviews. But our experience was very good--from the scheduling to the actual cleaning. read more

Disgusting customer service, sales practices, and billing......DO not give them your credit card...Do not use them for any services.

They were to clean our gutters. They showed up without ringing our doorbell and just started working with ladders against our house and almost lost our dogs that were in the backyard. Our daughter stopped them from opening the gate. When they said they aren't obligated to ring doorbells we told them to leave. I think the front was done but they never did the back of the house. We have full CAMERA'S and they show they were on our property for less than 10 minutes. Nor did they ever hook up to our water spigot to do the proper job. Dangerous practice to just put a ladder up against the house without announcing themselves early in the morning. My wife should have called the police to report peeping toms. A supervisor promised not to charge us but of course they did. Follow up phone calls result in talking with difference "supervisors" . One said nothing can be done and another offered us a discount on future services. Can't wait to see how they defend themselves when our camera's show that they never did the back of the house. read more

Their gutter cleaners are in and out so fast that you could miss them if you blink. The results are predictably mediocre. I tried to use them for more complicated gutter repair and design. They were very reluctant to come look in person. They have photos of the house and want to rely on those no matter what the problem is. That approach may work for simple things like "replace this gutter with a larger one", but they could not address anything more involved than that. read more

They came to my house to do a gutter cleaning without warning at 7AM on a freezing morning. They were very late in the season and woke me up trampling on my roof before even notifying me they were there. They froze my downspout using my hose without permission to clean the gutters. They then kicked the gutter to break up the ice and detached it from my house. They denied it was their fault. Once threatened with legal action they came back and just put a bunch of screws in the gutter to attach it back to the house. The gutter is permanently creased, cracked, and leaking. Still to this day, 5 years later, I will never use them again and they deny they did anything wrong and try to make excuses why they aren't liable for the damage they caused. I have had several third party companies confirm they absolutely are the cause of the damage. TERRIBLE! NEVER TRUST THIS COMPANY! read more

Service is horrible. Give no heads up when they come . Never sign up for their cleaning auto service.

Not to be trusted. I got a written quote which said they would be coming to clean my gutters within the next 2 weeks but declined to give a specific date. I waited one month and they did not show. During that month the weather was perfect for cleaning gutters, however at the end of the one month period, winter weather was very much on its way. When I called them after a month of no shows, they stated they were busy and could not give a specific date unless I paid extra. They then stated they would get to me sometime in December but would not give a date. That would mean exposing uncleaned gutters to freezing conditions. Thus a scam to get you to pay more money. Stay away from them. read more

Do not use this company! They replaced my gutters last summer. I had requested larger gutters and was given a price by the salesperson. When I called back to confirm, I was given a much higher price because of the larger gutters. I was told that the larger gutters would cost more, and they had no idea that's what I wanted, even though I had specifically said that to the sales person from the beginning of that call, and that was the reason I told them I had called in the first place. I ended up having them installed, and paid more than the initial quote, although they were "nice enough" to come down a little bit on the price after I complained. Now, I had previously had them clean the old gutters a month or so before this. Their sales rep tried selling me a package for hundreds of dollars up front. I declined. They were scheduled to come back at the beginning of November to clean them again, once the leaves had fallen. No one came. I called after about a month, and was told it was because of the leaves falling late. They would make me a "priority," so I would be near the top of the list. Still, no one came. I called again in January, and was told because of the weather, they couldn't say exactly when someone would come out, but I was again told I would be a "priority." I called again today, April 4 - five months after they were originally supposed to come - because still, no one had come out yet. I was told that the person who originally scheduled me had made the appointment for fall of this year, 2022, instead of fall of last year, 2021. They could send someone out TODAY if I didn't cancel. This is total BS. I had spoken to two different people since November, and both told me I was "priority" and they would send someone out as soon as they could. So, I hadn't been made a "priority," despite being told by two other people, and either they hadn't checked to see when I had been scheduled, or the person on the phone today was lying. I cancelled, told them to remove my credit card information from their system, and that I would never use their company again. read more

Third times a charm, hard to leave a review. I contacted Stevens a couple of weeks ago to schedule a gutter cleaning. They wanted to up sale but all I wanted was cleaning. They gave me a price but it would take a week as they were busy. I got a text a week later saying they were on their way and then 15 minutes later told couldn't to the c leaning. I called the phone number and they couldn't tell me why so I called 5 hours later to be told it was unsafe to get on my roof. They had cleaned my gutters a number of years back, same house. I wanted more detail and didn't hear back for over a week only to get the same reason not safe. I tried responding to their texts and emails but they do not let you to do that. I say to get them to come to your house before taking any kind of quote over the phone. VERY POOR WORK Ethic!! read more

I contracted with Ned Stevens to clean and maintain the gutters on my new home, the first time they came out their workers left a mess all over my pool patio. I had to call them to return to clean it up. Recently I have tried unsuccessfully over the last two weeks to schedule my next gutter cleaning, in both cases the online representative states he will call me back that day to set the cleaning up BUT NEVER DOES. They seem not to care about customer service and must not need my business, you should not have to beg a company to schedule and execute work. Be careful if you hire these guys, they lie. They put their ladder up against my neighbors gutter without a ladder stabilizer. Ned Steven's has the worst customer service. I tried to report an issue we were having with our service and was told basically they didn't care. They take advantage of there customers and show up whenever they want. They charge a lot of money for the yearly service plan and it's not worth it. The poor quality work and awful customer service is not worth the trouble or the money. Do yourself a favor and stay clear of them. read more

6 mos ago I had a plugged downspout. I contacted Ned Stevens to clean the gutters. The first rep they sent went into his sales pitch to convince me that I needed to replace a 20 ft section of gutters complete with with leaf covers. I explained that I only want the gutters cleaned. He didn't do that he was only a installer. 9 months later the gutter cleaning crew rang our doorbell at 7:15 am. No advance notice that they were coming and they were gone in 20 minutes. All for $158.00 They certainly didn't do the gutters around our bedroom as we would heard them on the roof but they did blow some of the leaves from the front door. I just got ripped off. Severing ties with them after giving them 20 years of our business. Called on a Thursday for a gutter cleaning. Typically they'd be at my house in no more than one day. Not the case any longer. I called on Friday asking them to please clean our badly saturated gutters. The rep said it would not be a problem. If not Friday then Saturday. Saturday comes and they're a no show. I called again and was told it was a no-can-do situation. This was despite my recorded phone call wherein I was promised a Saturday cleaning. The manager decided that rather than have a team come out at 2:30 he'd just give the employee who mislead me a strong talking to. As if I gave two sh$ts. I swear some companies these days don't give a hoot about customer service. read more
