Exceptional (at the very least) would be the word to describe Edward's overall assistance with this task! Not only in providing a professional, transparent appraisal, but also in guiding me on the best approach and offering me contacts to reach out in the event of selling my items. I followed his advice, and achieved great results all within one week!! I was so impressed with his services that I've already re-enlisted him for another appraisal, and am excited to continue working with him! If you're seeking an appraiser in the greater Boston area, Edward Stanley is the one to choose! He is truly a master of his craft. 10/10 I recommend!!

I had what I believed was a antique, hand-painted "work of art" that I needed an appraisal for as it had been broken by a cleaning company I'd hired. I was sure it was worth hundreds of dollars. Before making an appointment with me, he asked for information and a picture or two. Lo and behold, that "antique 'work of art'" (even if it was in one piece) would be valued maybe "on a good day" $100. You and I both know that there are business people who are all about making money; their bottom line. Edward is not like that at all. Just like he works with one-of-a-kind pieces of art ... Edward Stanley is a one-of-a-kind. I implicitly trust him and will call him whenever I need his services. When you've had the best, why settle for the best, right?

He has a lot of training and certifications, has served as an expert witness in property valuations in federal court so his experience was particularly helpful to me as the buyer, trying to understand and counter the deficiencies in the seller's appraisal report. For example, Rusty saved me thousands off the price and my future condo fees by discovering the sq ft of living space was off by more than 200 sq ft - as advertised and listed in the condo docs - a huge savings for a 1050 sq ft condo! His market insight was also grounding when it came to understanding the true value of various aspects of my potential purchase in a hot north shore MA market. I feel much more informed about my purchase and the 25 page report complete with photos of what is being described in the text stood up well at the negotiating table with the seller. The report has beyond helpful to us as first time buyers. I would have gladly paid 3x for Rusty's insights and report. I would use him again and have already recommended him to friends and colleagues.

Prior to contacting Leslie, I had great angst of this whole appraisal/sale of items process. I didn't want to feel foolish or be taken advantage of in any way. I had heard how you do not always get the true value of items if you go to a jeweler who then purchases these items. Leslie was very quick to reply to my email and honest around her fees. We scheduled an appt. and I brought my various items to her office for the consultation appt. During our appt, Leslie was very respectful of all of the pieces. She tests items and uses her microscope with you in the room. I felt like she was very thorough, and any questionable items, she agreed to test further. She was always respectful- even when items were not authetic gems or gold. The items we did agree she would liquidate, she logged for insurance and then gave them approximate values. Once the items were sold, Leslie promptly called me to inform me of the amount of the sale. There were a few pieces of jewelry I had left with her for appraisal-- well, as it turns out, they really weren"t anything requiring insurance, and she was very honest about not going through an entire appraisal process as this would have cost me money. I felt she was very, very honest and I appreciated her placing my needs first. I would highly recommend Leslie George of NE Gem lab.
