Exceptional (at the very least) would be the word to describe Edward's overall assistance with this task! Not only in providing a professional, transparent appraisal, but also in guiding me on the best approach and offering me contacts to reach out in the event of selling my items. I followed his advice, and achieved great results all within one week!! I was so impressed with his services that I've already re-enlisted him for another appraisal, and am excited to continue working with him! If you're seeking an appraiser in the greater Boston area, Edward Stanley is the one to choose! He is truly a master of his craft. 10/10 I recommend!!

Edward Stanley can be described in just a few words ... he is a good man - a man who is ethical and…read morehas integrity as a business person. I had what I believed was a antique, hand-painted "work of art" that I needed an appraisal for as it had been broken by a cleaning company I'd hired. I was sure it was worth hundreds of dollars. Before making an appointment with me, he asked for information and a picture or two. Lo and behold, that "antique 'work of art'" (even if it was in one piece) would be valued maybe "on a good day" $100. You and I both know that there are business people who are all about making money; their bottom line. Edward is not like that at all. Just like he works with one-of-a-kind pieces of art ... Edward Stanley is a one-of-a-kind. I implicitly trust him and will call him whenever I need his services. When you've had the best, why settle for the best, right?

I had a very disappointing experience with Boston Appraisal Services regarding the appraisal of my…read moremultifamily property in Brockton. My concern is not simply that I disagreed with the $1,150,000 valuation. My concern is how significant property characteristics and the information submitted through the Reconsideration of Value process were handled. The property has approximately 5,451 sq. ft. above grade, a 14,800 sq. ft. lot, and a substantial finished basement of approximately 2,332 sq. ft. The appraisal describes the basement as approximately 90% finished with two full bathrooms, yet the report classified the additional rooms as "dens." In the revised report, the appraiser even acknowledged that two of those dens are currently being used as bedrooms. I submitted permit documentation and additional comparable sales for reconsideration. I also questioned why there was no site adjustment when some of the primary comparable properties had lots of approximately 4,900-7,200 sq. ft., compared with approximately 14,800 sq. ft. for my property. I understand that an appraiser is independent and is not required to reach the value a homeowner or borrower wants. However, when specific factual and adjustment concerns are raised, I expect them to be thoroughly addressed and supported by clear market reasoning. After going through the ROV process, the value remained $1,150,000, and I was not satisfied that all of the issues I raised were adequately addressed. Based on my experience, I would not use Boston Appraisal Services again. I recommend that anyone receiving an appraisal carefully review the reported room counts, property characteristics, comparable selections, and adjustments before accepting the report.

When he finally replied he stands by his inflated appraisal. He can not admit his mistakes.I even sent him listings of more accurate comparable homes that sold more recently, very unprofessional.I paid $500 for this.I feel he discriminated against me because I am a woman. If zero stars was an option I would choose it.

I first contacted Leslie via email to ask questions around her services. I had various pieces of…read morejewelry from my grandmother's estate and no idea if anything had any real value. Prior to contacting Leslie, I had great angst of this whole appraisal/sale of items process. I didn't want to feel foolish or be taken advantage of in any way. I had heard how you do not always get the true value of items if you go to a jeweler who then purchases these items. Leslie was very quick to reply to my email and honest around her fees. We scheduled an appt. and I brought my various items to her office for the consultation appt. During our appt, Leslie was very respectful of all of the pieces. She tests items and uses her microscope with you in the room. I felt like she was very thorough, and any questionable items, she agreed to test further. She was always respectful- even when items were not authetic gems or gold. The items we did agree she would liquidate, she logged for insurance and then gave them approximate values. Once the items were sold, Leslie promptly called me to inform me of the amount of the sale. There were a few pieces of jewelry I had left with her for appraisal-- well, as it turns out, they really weren"t anything requiring insurance, and she was very honest about not going through an entire appraisal process as this would have cost me money. I felt she was very, very honest and I appreciated her placing my needs first. I would highly recommend Leslie George of NE Gem lab.
