I have gone to Gary twice for appraisals, and each time he has been thorough, courteous, honest, and fair. He is also very patient, and is happy to go into as much detail about his work as you want him to - and it's fascinating! He even printed out pages about each of the different styles of diamonds in my ring. The first time I went to him, it was to appraise my mom's engagement ring which she gifted to me - an antique style with a large solitaire and two baguettes. I went back to him after I had it redesigned into an incredible custom piece with 15 diamonds in various sizes, cuts, colors, etc. As he said - "it is irreplaceable". With that in mind, he meticulously cleaned it, and then spent a very long time carefully assessing each stone, making sure that it was assigned the proper value should there ever be an issue. When I met with him in person, he took the time to educate me about my stone. He explained everything from cuts, grading, and current markets to the scope of a GIA certificate (which is quite limited compared to his appraisal).
