The sales associates used to put the clothes I collected to try on in a dressing room for me. I walked that store for at least half hour without a single sales associate approaching me even though there were 3 or 4 at the register talking and no other customers in the store. Once in the dressing room, not one sales associate approached to see if I needed a different size or if they could remove items from the dressing room, something that would have happened in the past. I checked out, spending about $400, on 3 items. Normally, I would keep my items on the hanger but that's not an option anymore unless you want a drycleaner wire hanger. Unfortunately, my story doesn't end there. When I got home, I discovered I had been charged $59 for a tee shirt that was clearly marked $49. I returned to the store the next day with the tee shirt and receipt and explained what happened. Instead of 'I am very sorry that happened, let me take care of that for you', the women made me feel like I had come to rob the store. After double and triple checking, I received my credit. I never received an apology, just a look of why I would bother for $11. Will I shop at the Eileen Fisher Company Store again? Yes. Will I expect customer service? No. Will I check my receipt? Definitely?

SO, being the bargain hunter I am I refused the alterations at HOB and went on a search. I was recommended to Marinella's by my Aunt who had purchased her mother of the bride dress there a few years prior and had my cousin's wedding dress altered here as well. My Mom was able to find a UNIQUE, APPROPRIATE Mother of the Bride dress at Marinella's. No gaudy glitter, outdated patterns, or annoying sales associates insisting that every dress you try on is "THE ONE....ARE YOU GOING TO ORDER IT TODAY?!" I'm SO glad we were referred over to Marinella because she did the alterations for both my Mother and I. On the day of my final fitting my wedding dress fit like a glove... and I had lost over 20 pounds! It was pressed gorgeously (the associate said she'd never taken so long to press a dress {mine was huge}) and couldn't stop gushing over how much she loved my dress. When I put my dress on all the ladies in the store rushed over and gawked at my dress that I hadn't even purchased there! I can't tell you how amazing it was to see my dress go from swimming in it, to looking like it had been made just for me! Marinella was trained in alterations in Italy and also purchases a lot of her dresses from there which is what makes them so unique. I will be returning here shortly to see if I can find a unique MOH dress for my sister-in-law's wedding and at the very least, she'll be doing my alterations!

She called me and said there was a long line at Zara & she was near the front of the line. Out of curiosity I moseyed on over. We found out that Zara has their annual sale this time of year in January. Evidently a lot of people knew about looking at the line outside of Zara waiting to get in. When I got there she was a couple of people from the front (great timing). It's not like I needed anything but I thought what the heck why not take a look. When we got into the store I quickly looked around the store front to back and noticed that they had nothing but women's clothes? I asked someone if they had men's clothes. They mentioned that the men's section is on the other side of the cased opening. As I perused the clothes, shirts (don't need any), pants (don't need any), coats (don't need), Just kind of killing time while my wife was shopping or so I thought. That's when I saw a long hooded winter coat. I have a heavy wool coat that I use when I get dressed up and play adult to go out but it's seen better days. I wanted & needed a long warm winter over coat. I found a coat that I really liked and best of all the price was reduced to $69.99 reduced $100 from the original price. The only problem was the zipper was jammed & wasn't working properly. I tried 3 different coats before finally finding one that works. I did find a salesgirl named Adi that was very patient & helpful w/trying to find a coat w/a zipper that worked. When we came out of the store there was a long line of people trying to get in. Like I said this was the first time I had ever been to a Zara store, but I'm glad I stopped in despite the issue w/the zipper I managed to buy the coat and at the same time I saved $100

When Heidner Properties acquired the Arboretum of South Barrington in 2022, we have witnessed an uptick in the abundance of new events, decor, beautiful new restaurants, retail shops & many more special events for day and evening entertainment. It's such a beautiful mall to walk around in & we cannot wait to see the ongoing innovations that continue to grow and become more successful each year.
