I took my mom to podiatrist dr. Hyim J Baronofsky he was the most horrible doctor i met my mom is 77 years old with diabetes he took out a cutter from the drawer not sanitized and took a hang nail that my mom was screaming and put badge on and I had to literally carry mom out to car he had no compassion or doctor skills I advise NCH to let go of this doctor he is garbage I had to come home and put porxide and clean the wound I advised her primary doctor to not ever recommend patient to this doctor he is lucky my mom did not get infection because of him then you would have seen the biggest lawsuit ever he told me so rudely if she bleeds to take her to the hospital I wanted to tell him how I felt but they would have took me in handcuffs I will file a complaint with the better bussiness bureau about this doctor he needs his license revoked or fired and I spoke to other different patients that don't speak English they told me the same they quit going to him after the first time. I've been going here for primary care visits and walk ins, and a few times the walks in was crowded so I waited a bit, but I've never left feeling I wasn't helped or didn't get what I needed. For regular visits and blood tests I always bring a book but feel that I barely wait, and all the staff is very nice and polite. read more

I am a little surprised at all these negative reviews - maybe I just got lucky but I had a great experience here. I know...who write 5 star reviews about an Urgent Care (one of the least happy places on earth)? Me...I guess. I had gone to another Urgent Care a couple days earlier and was told "you're fine, get some rest, etc etc". I got gradually worse over the next two days and decided I had to go see someone again since I was worried I'd have to go to the ER if I kept ignoring how I was feeling. I arrived at NCH Immediate Care at 4:30p and braced myself for a long wait based on the reviews (I get it, Urgent Care places are inherently unpredictable and I was fine waiting as long as I got to see someone and was properly diagnosed). However, I was called in about 15min, I saw a nurse immediately, and then I saw a doctor maybe 15min after that. He ordered a couple tests and a chest x-ray (and I thought to myself, crap...how long is it going to take to go see an x-ray tech). But, the tests were conducted within maybe 10min and the x-ray was done 5min after. I was SHOCKED at how quick everything went, how nice everyone was, and how THEY kept apologizing for keeping me waiting. They then apologized again for "making me wait" 15min for the x-ray to be processed and reviewed by the doctor (in my experience, full hospitals take at least this long, if not longer). End of the story - I was diagnosed with double pneumonia after the first Urgent Care missed it, and I probably would have had to go to the ER the next day if I didn't come here. The doctor seemed legitimately concerned and empathetic, he wrote me a couple prescriptions, gave me some tips, and told me to follow up with my primary since this was very serious. Fast forward 2 days later and I am already feeling a lot better, though I have another 5 days to go on my antibiotic treatment to be safe. I am grateful I came here and they literally may have saved me from a major medical emergency. read more

Run as fast as you can from this place they cannot care less about anyone who comes in this was a work injury of a sliced finger 3 inches long bleeding all over they did not care gave us a paper towels and a garage can and still waited over and hour. This office is first class! Receptionists are polite and responsible. Expect a call back within a few hours if you need it. Dr. Nigel Walters is a great GP. He listens to my dad and also to me, and does his best to try to make both our lives easier. He makes eye contact, and doesn't just sit with his nose in the computer reading the nurse's notes. He makes an effort! I was having trouble shouldering my dad's care all on my own, and after letting me vent--he suggested a home healthcare nurse, PT and social worker. I had no idea we'd be eligible for such services. Hoping that will make a difference for our quality of life. Highly recommend Dr. Nigel Walters! He has a delightfully quirky vibe in the very best way. Plus, are you sitting down? He's actually human and not a robot like many other doctors we've had to deal with. Get in there! read more

Be forewarned that the lab in this facility gives Covid tests right next to people who are getting blood draws, with just a partial section of wall separating them. This with the super-transmissible Omicron burning through the metro area. Covid is an airborne virus, so putting people who are maskless because they are having a test swab jammed up their nose in close proximity to people who are having blood drawn for serious medical conditions seems very risky. read more

Having read previous reviews I was a bit weary about taking my mom there but the staff was very friendly and helpful. We waited maybe 30 min prior to being seen by the the dr and he was personable and explained everything to us. Makes you wonder how this facility got so many negative reviews. read more

Do not waste your time here. Waited 3 hours to see someone for my son. No communication from anyone . Asked front desk twice if they could provide an update both time the person was beyond rude. The person that checked us in was nice. The second one told me she only checks people in not maybe you could ask a nurse or anything just I'm front desk and don't know anything else. I got the vibe of don't bug me. She's in the Wrong profession and should learn compassion or do something else. Will not go here again and will make sure anyone who will listen to go somewhere else. read more

Horrible doctor Shah, If you see him walk in I'd walk out. Told me to stop cold turkey large doses of prednisone without weaning. Implied I come in for prescription cold meds and I asked when was the last time, he said 2017. It's now January 2019, Terrible bedside manner. Will Not ever go back to that immediate care. read more

It is great that there is a lab at this location and many diagnostic tests can be done here instead of at the hospital.

We were in from out of town and were actually hours away from flying home. My son was feeling horrible so we decided to go to urgent care before the airport. The office is clean and comfortable. The staff was kind and efficient. We did wait over an hour as we were forewarned, but there were 5 people ahead of us so it is to be expected. I would highly recommend this care center. read more

Mount Prospect People nice, doctors hit or miss not real interested. Can't get anyone to answer phone, ER tried getting for me, still wouldn't connect kept saying for Imed Care #3 then said #3 is not valid number! Months later glitch still not fixed. Always 3 to 5 hr wait, no one in any inner dark rooms tho waiting room freezing & packed, had to sit in hall on floor at times. Too many sick people packed together laying on floor. Husband 5 hrs wait to be told just cold after weeks with deep wheezing cough, later that night diagnosed pneumonia elsewhere. They don't put your name & time on actual list until you go in, first name on notepad , so looks like waiting few mins. No one knows about ridiculous wait times. The Drs only work for them, not tied up at hospital...I asked. Where is everyone? We could at least be put in a warm room with a blanket. They won't give reports on visit and no report with xrays for insurance to us or doctor even through Imaging Dept. The diagnosis, insurance had to return, it was a code of no value & said nothing found. Next day other specialist Dr agreed we did have injuries reported and hardly any cost. Waste of time & money with no treatment. The cost is ridiculous compared to others. Recently they charged $207 for the nurse to hand me a prescription for antibiotic on top of Dr's one minute assessment of infected puncture $207 bill & all minor things that are normally included. Since when is that not included & why nurse same as Dr. My son pays very little for most kid visits at his urgent care. The wait is minutes. He always calls me when enters door to gloat. I hear nurse taking him back & soon he or kids are immediately assessed, soon done & leaving. They also refuse to forward 2 bills to insurance. Their other bills for same incident were forwarded & paid. They have lawyer harrassing me now saying they must have all info of other party involved, that I wouldn't know, and other difficult questions, to determine if accident & who to send bills to. It says accident. Called 3 times "just forward to insurance like rest". It's not their place to decide that, insurance determines between them. 1st call woman checked original form was fault of the girlys at front desk forgot to enter insurance info. (They had me get from car & tho already on file.) Thought solved it but 6 mos. later still getting threats. They know who is insurance. Was going to switch to Dr I met at hospital...not now too many hassles. read more

I am calling to get the fax number so my physician can fax my order to them and the lady that answered the phone didn't even acknowledge me. She said "hello" and I said "hi my name is Monica how are you" and she goes "what". If this isn't poor customer service I don't know what is. Then she proceeded to tell me she doesn't know the fax number and said she would transfer me and stayed on the phone for a good minute before she did. If j could give y'all 0stars I would! Horrible horrible service, this is coming from someone who has worked c.s for almost 6+years and I myself am a receptionist at a Drs office. Brought my daughter here for suspected strept throat. There were 12 people ahead of us so I chose not to Stay, I was going to take her elsewhere. In the meantime the receptionist at the front desk was very persistent that she needed to know my daughters name and I explained that I wasn't staying and she said it didn't matter I need to know her name so that we can put down that you left. I said if I'm not staying you don't need to know her name and I left. Can't help but feel as though they wanted her name so that they can charge us anyways. I ended up googling other immediate care in the area and found advocate immediate care and you can make an appointment so I made an appointment for 1 PM and my whole visit at advocate including waiting for the prescription took me one hour. read more

All I can say is the staff can be super rude. A doctor at this office was requesting that I have my medical records sent to this office from my previous doctor. Ok no big deal everyone super nice. I asked a couple simple questions and the lady on the phone today was, extremely rude, unprofessional and raised her voice to the point that the person sitting next to me could hear her. I've never been spoken to like that by someone in the medical field. I ask her for her name, so I can report her and she refuse to give it to me , so I wanted to speak with the manager. I went to the immediate care place on 9/7/21 I was told the wait about an 1 hr 1/2 I was ok. As I sat there many more people came i still sat did not get upset, even after a couple who came in after me went in and they left still I sat never once complained. The person that came directly after me went to the counter and she went back and check they were cleaning a room as we speak still I sat he got in before me. The nurse came out and called another guy in I finally said what about me? She said he had an appointment, another lady who was waiting a while said you can't make appointments nurse said yes you can for certain things. I had to ask what time it was they lady told me 2pm I said I have to go. Don't waste your day here I am sure you have better things to do than sit there for 4hrs. Stupid once won't be going there again ever and any body who asks me don't go here at all unless you like sitting in a chair napping and never being seen! read more

This past holiday weekend I went to NCH Immediate Care at Mount Prospect with a broken foot. I was blown away with the treatment that I received. Everyone I interacted with, including admissions, the nurse, the x-ray tech, and the doctor, were all very kind and informative. If you can avoid this place any means, please do so. I went there with my son when he was complaining about the stomach pain. I thought it would be cheaper to go to urgent care vs. ER and thought we could see the doctor sooner. We were there about an hour or so, took the X-rays. The doctor was fantastic, very helpful, answered all the questions and explained really well. I was very pleased at that time. However, when I received the bills from the NCH, it was insane. Dr. fee was $242 and the facility charges were $796, not to mention about the additional Radiation fee of $30. This is total of $1068!!! for an hour urgent care visit? I had my son went to ER few years ago and stayed there for two hours and were charged less than $1000. The only reason we went there this time was my husband back in 2016 visited this place, and only got charged for $89 for the physician visit at that time. However, I recently received additional bill of $746 after almost 2 years with the EOB showing multiple outpatient facility uses, equipment's and supplies charges. I called them multiple times, sent multiple emails to understand what these were for and why the bill came to us so late. All they said was our insurance company responded too slow. However, according to our insurance record, there were two claims with different code in early 2017 (latest one was in Feb), then another one just submitted in April of this year. They also told me there is another bill for us pending for the insurance coverage, which is for the visit my husband made as a follow up visit and paid the physician visit fee of $132. They just submitted the facility charge of $223 after almost two years later. Again, this is total of $355 per visit. If I knew all about this insane facility charges back in 2016/2017, I would never take my son to this place and paid more than $1000. Please be aware. I learned the lesson and hope this review can help you make the right choice. read more

NCH should be ashamed of themselves. ASHAMED. I was from out of town and because I have a HMO from out of state, I was treated as an unsinsured cash paying paint when bring my 8 month year old in (which I was ok with). I called first and asked how much it would be and they told me an amount. I came in, payed it and my daughter was seen. Now, they are coming after me for another 73.60. I asked the front desk multiple times, if I pay this, will this be the only charge and it was stated, "yes". After calling, I was told now I got to mail a letter. You all should be ashamed of your selves. When talking to Nate in finical, he stated "our front desk people should not be giving finical billing amounts." Two points to this, 1. that's not my problem, that yours and you should have a written script then and 2. that idea that people can not know until weeks after how much something will cost is unethical and wrong. I will be paying this because I do not have time to deal with this but know any time I can share my experience in letting people know how unethical Northwest Community is, I will take. read more

I do not recommend this place for immediate care. They overcharge you for everything! I went in for a check up for my 5 yo and they sent me a big bill from the dr AND from the facility. $215 charge for a 10 min checkup plus $245 "Clinic and supplies" !?!? For a total of $460 for 10 minutes. Stay away!!! And to clarify, this was for a common cold. No strep, no lab test, just a common cold. read more

I took my daughter at the beginning of the year to this facility for a possible strep infection and I specifically asked at the front desk if they charge emergency costs and they assured me that they only charged aregular office visit plus lab if necessary. Since then I am keep receiving multiple bills and charges for hundreds of dollars my insurance paid so far 650 dollars and I am responsible for other hundreds. Anybody can charge whatever they think are entitled as long that this is properly disclosed upfront. Why front office does not do they job? I could have taken my daughter across the street to CVS. Or maybe that's why they do not want to disclose! I wish we the patients would be more protected by these incorrect information because at the end we are the ones who pay the bills. read more

The male physician at this location is wonderful, and he has done a great job for us. This facility has been our trusted, go-to place for urgent care needs due to his excellent care. Unfortunately, we had a bad experience recently with a physician assistant at this location, and we no longer have confidence in the treatment we may receive there. There is also a lack of privacy when you check in at this location, so everyone in the waiting room can hear your name, reason for visiting, and even some personal contact and insurance information. read more

My husband visited this facility for a very painful pinched back. He had excellent service during this visit, but I have been dealing with the bill of it for over nine months now (even appealing to Aetna directly) and I have talked to numerous people in their billing department at Northwest Community Healthcare including the billing manager Jerry. Basically they charged us for TWO visits -- Urgent care of $50 (use of the facility) and the Doctor fee of $40. So this visit cost us $90, when my husband could have just seen his regular doctor down the hall for $25. Aetna manager just told me today they have right to do this as it's two "tax id #s". What a rip off! I will never, never, never visit this urgent care facility EVER again. What a scam. read more

We have been here twice now in the last few months with our kids. One with simple chin stitches and the other with 2 staples in the scalp. It is cheaper for us than going to the ER now with our insurance and shorter wait and so far we have been happy with treatment and service.
