Had 8AM appointment as a 2nd Mohs surgery today . Checked in 755AM ....immediately called upon to follow to patients room. Had area prepped on my hand. Dr. Bukhalo came ..explained & answered all my questions. Dr. B. operated on hand ...no pain...done.. Waited while his lab examined the tumor. All was good !! Courtney the PA came in stitched my hand ...explained care until stitches come out in 2 weeks. Katie is amazing! I had a severe breakout from a water fast. Something I never thought I would experience. She spent time trying to understand what it was because it was coming from within and no bumps. She prescribed a compound cream that helped so much. I scheduled a head to toe examination with Dr. Bukhalo. (I have had two skin cancers and my brother had melanoma.) Today when I arrived I was taken to an exam room and medical information was taken. Then Dr. Bukhalo's P.A. came in, asked me to remove my shirt and examined my legs and arms. (I had on Bermuda shorts.) She then left and Dr. Budhalo came in, looked over a few areas on my legs and arms. I had a fungal rash on my upper leg. He said since I had a fungal rash on my upper leg, that I probably had toenail fungus and should see a podiatrist. (I still had my shoes on.) He then examined my scalp and said he needed to do a biopsy on two places on my head. It was at this point that I stood up and told him he was the wrong doctor for me. If this is what Dr. Bukhalo thinks is a proper head to toe exam for a cancer patient, then I truly was in the wrong place. read more

I've been going to Arlington dermatology since 2010 (high school) for mild Rosacea back before they moved office locations. So I've been going to the same office for a very long time for all dermatology needs. I've had facials and extractions done in office as well. I recently had mole removed by Courtney on my neck that Has bothered me since I was a kid, it was non cancerous but it got caught on jewelry and clothes a lot so I finally had it removed and they made it so easy. Even though it was deemed not cancerous my whole life, Courtney had it biopsied anyways since it caused irritation when touched so it was reassuring to know she wanted to take precaution that it was benign. I started Botox right after that appointment with Courtney and I'm obsessed with how knowledgable she is. I trust her to never give me a droopy face or hit a nerve. I recommend her to all my friends now who are thinking about starting Botox. They also treated really bad poison ivy I had last summer that destroyed both of my legs right before a friends wedding. They squeezed me in for an emergency visit and I couldn't appreciate them enough! read more

This is my first visit with Dr. Altman. His office is off the main roads and there's plenty of parking in the lot. The staff seemed very nice, I was able to print out my new patient forms so my visit can be quicker. Their website was user friendly. For my appointment, I had to wait for a bit longer like 45 mins as there was a lot of patients in the waiting room. I heard that it was unusual as the lady who checked me in apologized for the long wait as Dr. Altman will see my ASAP. The office looked modern with a huge flat screen TV in the back showing the global news and plenty of magazines to read. There were also framed news clippings of the doctors and staff about skin care, etc. I finally met Dr. Altman, he's a very nice man and he tells you what you need to hear and gives you suggestions about your skin issues. I had a growing skin tag on the side of my face as I thought, but he identified it as an oddly shaped wart. He was not worried about it so he allowed his assistant to remove it and she was also very nice and told me step by step what she is doing. The visit was quick and if you have questions, you need to speak up or he'll take over the conversation. That's how doctors are ya know. I also wanted to have my skin tags removed but have it covered by my insurance. He honestly told me that it might get reject and the cost to remove them will be over $100 out of pocket. He suggested alternatives that I can try at home so I'll take those option and save some money since he did suggest at home alternative's can go online and see my options. He doesn't highly recommend them but knows his patients will do it to save money. So if I have any skin issues, I'd recommend to see him. read more

Complete waste of my time. I called in to get a consultation for Vbeam service. As soon as I came in they wanted me to pay $50 for the consultation. I asked if it'd be applied toward my service like most plastic surgeon offices and they said "we don't know" How about letting people know up front so they can decide if they want your services or if they'd rather go somewhere else which includes it? After the consultation telling me what I already know, they wanted me to make ANOTHER appointment for the actual treatment. I'm completely turned off by this practice and will go somewhere else that includes a free consultation and can treat me the same day. The office looks nice but that's about it. read more

I can highly recommend this clinic. Dr. Bukhalo and Courtney are both wonderful. My husband went there initially to get a suspicious spot checked and later had surgery. Even though the procedure had to be done 3 times at this same appointment till he had clear edges, he has no scar on his face. I made the appointment at Arlington Dermatology because I always read Dr. Bukhalo's interesting and informative articles that he posts in the Daily Herald. How many doctors do that just to inform the general public? I was impressed. Last month I went there myself for the first time & also had surgery for basal cell carcinoma on my nose. Dr. Bukhalo took his time and explained everything thoroughly. When I said I was nervous about the procedure, he wanted to give me extra time. No rushing - just super nice! Both he and Courtney did the surgery together. Courtney as well is nice, professional, and as competent in doing the Mohs procedure as any doctor. I went to this place for several months to get rid of a wart. Nothing worked. I also had skin condition onu legs. they took a biopsy of skin and couldn't figure out what it was. They toldr to use a lotion that i can buy over the counter. Won't go there anymore. No star but yelp says o have to give at least 1. read more

If you schedule an appointment. Clear your whole day. An appointment at 9am, expect to be seen at 10:30am ish, done at 11:15am. Even if you show up early and complete the paperwork. They also billed me incorrectly, causing work on my end to untangle the mess they created. On the positive end, I was diagnosed correctly and treated. Although mine was an incredibly easy issue. Would I go again? No, I would look around even be willing to drive further. read more

The star is for one good thing about the office. The PA autumn... Very good dermatologist PA.... But most of the time they passed me to different PA's if she's sometimes busy. Which I don't mind.... But if you're going to pass someone to a colleague temporarily please have them read the patient's chart so they are up to date with the situation. I had problems with cystic acne, that came back into my adulthood.... I was prescribed acutane before and the doctor I went to before moved. now there are some serious side effects to accutane, my old doctor was great but heart broken when she moved..so I found Altman and associates... Sure the office is impressive, clean and has a great waiting room, but not too impressed with the whole staff.... They had tons of receptionists, but it took them a long time to check me in, every visit. So at first I saw doctor Altman... To me the visit felt rushed and impersonal. He quickly looked at my face and just went on and on about taking accutane right away. Took about five to ten min meeting and I was on my way to getting treated..... A month later went back for a follow up, I was passed to a PA, I don't even remember her name... When she came in she acted like I was a new patient, asked what I was there for. I explained again, gave no mind cause I was being passed to a new PA.... Then the next month thinking I was going to have the same PA service me, I get another PA... And again she asks the same questions like I was a first time patient. Again I had to explain that I was on my second month of accurate blah blah blah.... The third and fourth month I finally had gotten a great PA autumn... She was on the ball on everything and I loved her... And I specifically went up to the scheduler and arranged my own schedule so that I can specifically see autumn.... The next month after who do I see, even after double checking with the receptionist that I was going to see autumn.... But they give me another doctor the day of.... Now I am already livid. I've changed my schedule to accommodate this office's business schedule and now I have to see another doctor.... An incompetent one at that. Dr, bukalo came in all confident. I felt rushed through out my whole ordeal/visit with him. The thing that irritates me is the patient should not even be questioned about their own treatment. The facility that treats them should know everything.... EVERYTHING about the treatment plan for the patient. Autumn had a great handle on everything and had a clear concise plan.... But being passed to others I had found myself being in charge of my own record keeping for them. Very incompetent to say the least. Dr bukalo came in with no knowledge of my treatment, Was telling me something that totally went against what I anticipated or expected based on what autumn had told me. I voiced my frustration, he left the room and came back with my FILE and apologized for the confusion.... Mind you this was my fifth month with them.... And they still didn't have Anything organized. If I was not a person who kept tabs on what's going on, there would have been a malpractice on their hands if something happened to my well being.... Worst practice I've ever been in. EVER. TO DR ALTMAN OFFICE: Stop changing PA's on patients please. If this has happened to me, to save your own skins change the way you manage your office please. Please don't let PA autumn go because she was the only saving grave for your practice.... But then again she's too good for the practice and probably needs to get with a better office anyways. read more

I am not sure how this practice makes it. Between the phone that is nearly impossible to get hold of anyone (you call at 2pm and they are "on lunch"), schedule an appointment, and a staff who cannot seem to provide a correct diagnosis ... I would not recommend wasting the time, your money and the insurance carriers money, or your energy. I have had over 5 visits here and each time has been disappointing. Nice place. Called as a first-timer, got an appointment for the next morning (wow, that was quick). Easy access (no stairs to enter), elevator to 2nd floor. Saw a PA, which is probably more than was necessary (the nurse could have handled the non-serious issue of mine) and enjoyed the visit. I will send my husband soon! Had several appointments with Courtney and would not recommend. She rushed thru the appointments and barely took the time to answer my skin questions. I had several moles removed and felt pressured to send for biopsy each time even though after the initial consultation there was only one that looked concerning. Also, she said it would take a long time before a mole would regrow (if it did) and so that made me feel better about choosing these procedures. Come to find out after some healing, two of them came back and it doesn't look like they were properly removed if they came back this quick. Very disappointed in my experience. If you're going to pay big money for something cosmetic to be done, go see someone else. read more

My employer (a school district) was giving flu shots and this practice offered to come by and give free skin check screenings. They were very knowledgeable and kind. They took their time and answered all my questions. Thought it was very generous for them to come and answer questions for free. Am definitely going to come to them with my skin needs. read more

Take a pass on this doctor's office: 1) I went there a year ago, the skin tags grew back within 6 months. 2) I paid my co-payment & an amount that they claimed wouldn't be covered by insurance upon leaving. I got a bill in the mail for the entire amount AGAIN and had to argue with "Lina" to get that corrected. Big fight with "Lina" who had a bad attitude but eventually found the original credit card payment. (See the review by Max F on 11/10/2016.) 3) I made an appointment at least one month in advance this year, faxed over my referral order and heard nothing from them until the day BEFORE my appointment stating that they had not received a referral authorization. They gave me a 5 hour window to get my PCP to correct the situation, AGAIN, huge argument with "Lina" the billing person. 4) Spoke with Blue Cross/Blue Shield that stated Arlington Dermatology should have checked that out long before the day before the appointment to make sure all ducks were in a row. The authorization is an INTERNAL DOCUMENT between the referring physician and Arlington Dermatology. A patient has no control over that document and never gets involved with that. So to sum up, didn't do a good job the first time, screwed up billing and attempted to get a double payment from me, didn't make sure all of the necessary paperwork was ready until the last minute of my 2nd appointment and hires billing people that are hostile, argumentative and just plain rude to patients over the phone. Anyone who hires a woman like "Lina" doesn't deserve my business. I am NOT doing them a favor by showing up and paying them. They have to EARN my respect and treat me as if I am a valued part of their practice. "Lina" in billing, has destroyed any hope of my return. read more

I called to make an appointment. They didn't have anything for two weeks. I make the appointment anyways. I get an email confirmation about my scheduled appointment and they're wanting me to confirm. I confirm, I get there a few minutes early, but apparently that wasn't enough. I start filing out paperwork, I have two more forms to just literally sign and I get called the front desk. They're canceling my appointment because I've taken too long filling out paperwork! It took more time to reschedule a new appointment then for me to finish signing papers! I then can't get seen for another two weeks! Nowhere in the confirmation email did it tell me to come in extra extra early to fill out paperwork. The appointments are made in 20 minute increments, so I feel like I wasn't even going to get a decent appointment with any Doctor there. Highly disappointed and will never go back. I canceled my appointment for two weeks from now and scheduled something somewhere else. read more

Beautiful new office, the staff and doctors are so friendly and helpful. This last visit was so good, I had to write a review, cause this has never happened to me at any doctor office, EVER. I was called in only a few minutes later than my appointment time, which is unusual for a doctors office. I Was told that the Dr. I was scheduled with was called into an emergency, so they were having another doctor do my appointment so I didn't have to wait. I recently had dermal fillers with Dr. Martinez Diaz. He and his staff were all very welcoming, knowledgeable, and caring. He made sure I was given all the pertinent information and preparation I needed before my procedure. Notably, Dr. Martinez has super gentle hands- I did not experience pain, swelling or bruising. Had a appointment for 11am today 1/07/17. Walked in around 1040 am and was met with a professional smiling face, giving my info and was seated , was seen right at 11am for my Levulan Kerastick and Blu-U treatment. The treatment in all took 90 minutes like they said it would. When done i made a follow-up appointment. All the time I was here , it was nothing but professional and friendly, smiling, easy to talk to people,Kelly,Ed,Velvet,Athena and Liz were great, I felt comfortable at this office not like I'm just a number . Absolutely the worst. Run in the opposite direction. This doctor spends no time with his patients. It's always rush, rush. No personal service. The staff is incredibly rude. This practice is only about the money. I accidentally gave them the wrong insurance card. I called to correct it. I was totally dismissed by the biller. It took several weeks to get it straightened out. I got a call and was THREATENED with being sent to collections. I told them I was not aware that the problem was solved. I sent payment right away. Three weeks later I see the electronic payment was returned to my account. I called to once again straighten it out and was treated very rudely by their biller and their Office Manager. Days later I received a letter that Dr. Bakhula will not longer be my doctor. Don't waster your time with this practice. They are only about money...not treating patients. running has taken its toll on my skin in a few places ( I will let you use your imagination) and decided rather then go to my gp to give this place a try since it fit my schedule well. I met with Michael Bukhalo, MD and was in and out in maybe 5 minutes after a quick visual inspection. He prescribed me some lotion and cream which I will give a go but the experience was way too rushed for my liking. He came in and asked what the issue was and before I could explain the situation in detail he had me up and ready for inspection . I had a list of questions I wanted to ask and wanted to go over in detail the things ive been trying and myths ive heard but was only able to get a few out.....he went right into the treatment just didnt seem interested or concerned (most likely because it was probably a routine not so serious condition to him) but for me its been a plague and I guess im just used to my normal dr who asks maybe more questions then necessary. I was in and out of the examining room in less then 5 min and just felt like I was rushed in and rushed out. Im sure the plan of attack he prescribed will get me back to normal quick so Im not upset at the end result....... I just feel a doctors visit is a personal experience and there was nothing personal about it.....it was more wam bam heres some cream see you later. I will go to my gp from now on even though its more expensive......your visit may differ from mine but I guess it just shows you when your used to a certain style of doing something in a doctors office its hard to switch. read more

Would never recommend this dermatologist. Went here for quite a few years when Autumn Green was working there. When she left, I was handed off to Courtney. Every time I see her she only spends about 5 minutes with me. I have done two rounds of microneedling for my acne scarring, which Courtney recommended would highly help me. During my second session, she told me I should really try the V Beam laser to help clear my skin. I have broke out like crazy since my last microneedling appt. Called today, 12/12 to make an appt and they advised they won't get me in until January. Also advised I had a growth on my body I was concerned about and they still said they wouldn't get me in until January. Very rude and have done nothing to help my skin since Autumn left. read more

Lately they have open houses that allow you to ask questions about the latest services like botox, and restylane. They also carry great non-prescription beauty lines that are fabulous! I have been going to Altman Derm for a few years now. I like the doctors. However, it is really hard to get anyone to follow up with you. In general, it is not very easy to reach a live human being and if you do leave a voice mail it usually goes unanswered. I find that it is typical to leave 2-3 vms before I can get a response. Highly recommended. I have been a patient of Dr. Bukhalo at Arlington Dermatology and his staff for almost 15 years including some minor surgical procedures. I have never waited for over 15 minutes from the time I arrived to see him for my appointment. He answers all your questions, explains your condition and treatment options, never felt hurried. Often his experienced Physician Assts. completes the procedures under his direction. The office is clean and the staff is helpful with easy parking. I had a facial bump emergency and called my "normal" dermatologist, all to find out that they were on vacation until next week. Being in a panic, I called any dermatologist I could find on Google, all to be told that there were no openings for ANYTHING in the next two months... Remembering that family members of mine used to see Dr. Altman, I decided to give Altman Derm a call. They didn't have an appointment open that day, but they were able to fit me in first thing the next morning. I walked in, filled out paperwork, waited maybe 4 minutes and was called into a room exactly at the time of my appointment. I met with a nurse real quick and explained why I was there. She said Dr. King would be right in and he was. So kind, and helpful, Dr. King did his thing and I was done, procedure and everything in 15 minutes. It was incredible! Not only was the staff very friendly, they were very resourceful and full of information. I think I am switching dermatologists. Highly recommend Dr. King and Altman Derm!! read more

Dr Bukhalo is a great diagnostician and cured two complicated problems that stymied 3 three other doctors. Can always get an appointment in timely fashion and if there's an emergency they will get you in. The physician's assistants are very qualified as well. Used them for over 10 years and now travel 60 minutes because Bukhalo is terrific. read more

I would NOT recommend this office at all. I was there back in August 2018 for some white and red dots I had on my side and back. First off, I had several people walking in the room looking at my spots which made me extremely uncomfortable, but I figured they just wanted to get other opinions. It was extremely mild case of whatever it was and they ended up taking a biopsy in TWO spots!! My tail bone and on my side. They ended up calling me with results saying it came back as eczema. After using an eczema cream for about a week I noticed my spots seem to be getting worse. So I ended up going to another dermatologist for a second opinion. Almost before I can even finish pulling up my shirt to show this new doctor he had already diagnosed me with Tinea versicolor, which is a common fungal infection. He treated me for Tinea versicolor and it was cleared up completely within a week or 2. These biopsy's that Arlington Dermatology took were pretty painful and I would also like to say they have scarred my body so bad that it literally is upsetting every single day to look at these awful scars on my body. I took care of them exactly how they told me to and still have really bad scarring. I found out I was pregnant 3 months after this happened and with the biopsy being on my side these awful scars grew even bigger :( not only was I left with these scars, but I was also was left with about $900 in bills from this office. I tried calling to possibly get someone to help me with these bills considering I was misdiagnosed. After speaking with several people I never received an call backs and just ended up having to pay the bill because dermatologist office said it was the labs fault and Vice a versa. I got to the point where I needed to pay the bill to avoid being sent to collections. So I paid $900 for a misdiagnosis and have 2 very awful looking scars I am left with. Obviously it's 9 months later and still upsets me everyday when I go to look at my pregnant belly that I had to post a review to warn others that this office can't even diagnose a common skin fungus. read more

Dr. Altman recently evaluated and removed a suspicious mole. After the biopsy results were returned, I had a number of questions. Dr. Altman patiently and completely addressed all of my concerns even though some were probably frivolous. He even asked if I had additional questions. In addition to his compassion and empathy for the patient, he is an outstanding physician. I normally only write reviews when I am unhappy with a service. However, I am so overwhelmingly satisfied with Dr. Altman's treatment, I am making an exception. I just registered with Yelp for the sole purpose of writing this review. I had an excellent experience with everyone on staff with whom I had contact--from the front desk through the PA's. I highly recommend Altman Dermatology. read more
