When looking for dermatologists within my network and area, Beaird Dermatology came up as a recommended option. Their office is located in a multi story building in Hoffman Estates by the I-90 expressway. Their office seems newer with concrete floors/white walls being minimal and modern. It was easy to get an appt and I didn't have to wait too long as a first time patient. My first visit was a general visit to check for concerning blemishes and discuss some long-standing skin concerns. I was prescribed three different creams for three different areas as well as recommended an over the counter shampoo. I tried products as recommended and didn't see results. I recently reached out (3 months later) to follow up that items weren't working and was told I'd have to come back in because I didn't follow up. It was news to me as I was never told to follow up on my terms; I expect my doctor to reach out to me. Either way, I scheduled another appt which was another copay. I was recommended two new creams as well as a pill prescription. It's been a week and no pharmacy has reached out to me saying I have a prescription to fill and the pill left me with side effects within days so I stopped taking. I followed up with the office, they asked if I could come back in which would be ANOTHER copay. I sadly am deciding to cut my loses with working with their practice. I refuse to pay another copay three business days after visiting because they didn't ask the right questions when I was last in. I felt the PA I had was kind but other staff was not and only talked in medical terms which left me confused and hard to follow conversation/questions. My PA seemed like he did care but I am left feeling like they want my money more than finding a solution to help me. read more

While Dr. Beaird is a good physician, it takes 9+ months to get in for a skin check with her, she and her staff will not allow you to have more than one skin condition addressed per appointment and you cannot get through her AI system to an actual human for scheduling purposes. I recently switched to a different dermatology practice not because of Dr. Beaird herself but because of how her office and practice is run. Her administrative staff do not return messages, they do not follow up with necessary insurance preapprovals, they cancel appointments regularly and then make you reschedule through text messaging or AI, they are unfriendly and they fail to process basic medical records requests. I've never encountered a medical practice that was so poorly managed. read more

I am blown away by some of the negative reviews. My experience is great. Dr. B is one person. The office is successful with very qualified MDs and other specialists, plus PAs on staff. She is only one person, and can't see everyone. I see a lot of criticism about the front office staff. They are not touchy feely, but they are very busy. They ask you what works for you as to times, let you know when to return, like in 2 weeks etc; so you can fit the appt in your schedule. Have no problems with rescheduling. Send you multiple emails as to reminders, etc. Give you a business card with the new appt. info. on the back. No problems calling them if you lost it. You walk in the door, if you do not check in rt. away they will give you time to sit and get organized, and they they will ask if they can help you. Depending on issue asks if a PA is ok to see for appts. Specialists are not like the old family MD. If they are good, they are busy! They have a pharmacy in the office, so you can get your meds there! My physical care is like the other rated 5s reviewing. In short, I am told diagnosis, treatment options, what they are going to do, what to expect as to pain or no pain, etc. Specific instructions as to home care, if any. Treaters are personal and made me feel comfortable. Happy to answer any ??s I had. History and symptoms taken was through as well as any allergies. Was told what to expect if anything and to call back if there would be any problems. I can't think of anything medical that was missed. Provider reviews the chart when you are there. They ask you any questions for clarification and again why you are there. Premises extremely clean! Personally, I want quality care #1. I went to 2 smaller Dermatolagists before I switched to Dr. Baird. Home instructions were not even common sense! Issued more scripts than I needed, and gave me no comfort my personal info. would be protected. I don't think any practice should be a 1 because the front office was not touchy feely, especially in a specialty. read more

Everyone at the front desk to check in and check out are nice, quick and keep things moving/ on time. I've been a patient of Dr. Beaird for more than 20 years, first at her previous practice, then & now at her namesake practice. Dr. Beaird and her capable staff and practitioners have treated my entire family for everything from acne to skin cancer, always with excellent results. Dr. Beaird is a genuine human being - nothing fake about her. She has an astonishing ability to diagnose, she is expertly skilled, she has a wonderful sense of humor, and she is genuinely caring, if not "warm and fuzzy" (as some reviewers have noted). Personally, I prefer reliable information and excellent medical skill to a lot of hand-patting and smarmy bedside manner. If she seems "rushed" - guess what? She probably is - she's incredibly busy because she's just that good. So give the doc a break, huh? Dr. Beaird has seen me through 22 (23?) years of my life - everything from early menopause skin issues to correctly diagnosing me with Celiac disease to my current senior aging problems of thinning skin, thinning hair, and goat whiskers on my chin (aging is a wild ride). She has gone from helping me and my husband to look our best when we were younger to now keeping us alive and healthy in our senior years. Dr. Beaird misses nothing. She, with Dr. Quartermous, has treated my husband for skin tumors and various types of skin cancer - always caught early and always dealt with immediately. I got a kick out of the elder veteran reviewer that said Dr. Beaird referred to him as an old geezer and then blasted his face & chest with something in a spray can - it made me laugh because that's her sense of humor and also her no-nonsense approach to dealing with skin pre-cancers. I wouldn't have her any other way. I'm well on my way to geezerdom myself, and I certainly am not sensitive about it. Age comes to all of us. I'd rather have an eagle-eyed doc that is smart enough to check my old geezer body for potential skin cancer and burn it off immediately than a doc who gives me a tube of useless cream, pats my hand, and sends me off to watch a pre-cancerous lesion grow into a life-threatening problem. Last - the front office staff may not be warm and fuzzy, but they, too are busy. Give them a chance - be a little patient; they are there to help you but they are not there to chit chat. I hope Dr. Beaird will be there to see me through life to the end of it. She is my true medical ally, and one of the few people in my life with whom I consider myself to be truly blessed. I had Moh's surgery last week performed by Dr. James Quertermous. He is very competent and did an amazing job. The issue was on my face and he did an excellent job with the removal of the cancer and closing the wound. Healing exceptionally well. His assistants deserve a shout out. I tried to bring my mother to see Dr Beaird and she as told we could not see her but we could see a nurse. On the day of the appointment we were 9 (no more than 10) minutes late. We were told we could not see the nurse and would need to reschedule. I understand we were late but would have expected they could squeeze us in sometime over the next few hours (the office was empty!). I've never experienced anything like that in 40+ years. read more

Went to my appointment today. Came in with a positive attitude, but after dealing with the front desk turned very negative. These ladies upfront are rude inconsiderate, which is a good indicator that the doctors aren't going to be much better. Therefore, I walked away not trusting that this was gonna be a good experience. Not a good skin Doctor. I'm a senior citizen with a honorable U.S. ARMY discharge. I've been to many a doctor in my life. Dr. Beaird in my opinion is not a good doctor. She seemed rushed. Referred to seniors as old geezers?Sprayed something on my chest and head without asking me or even telling me what it was for. Never even treating the areas with an antiseptic or a band aid. Next morning i woke up with burnt skin on my chest and head. She is not the kind of doctor I want to exam me. Or trust. My wife feels the same way and has left her practice. What a waste of time. They will not post reviews on their website unless they are 5 star so I am doing it here for the public. I went in for skin rash treatment and never got to see a real doctor, only a PA both visits. I returned because the "try four different things and see if any work" approach, didn't work. I was billed for both visits but the bill does not say what I am being billed for or for what day. I could be getting ripped off. I tried calling the billing number provided but no one answered at 2pm on a Monday. One employee thinks they are exempt from wearing a mask during a pandemic when everyone else wears one. Tables in the room where you see the doctor are gross and I don't think they change the paper between visits. I've never seen the paper so wrinkled before I sat on it any other doctors office. I'm disappointed because it takes a lot for me to go to the doctor and when I finally go and expect to get better and only get worse, I post a review like this. read more

I've hesitated writing a review about this practice, but after thinking about it, I do think people should check reviews and be careful not to go alone on an appt here. The doctor was very rude to me during my appointment. I was so shocked I didn't know what to say at the time, but it bothered me a lot after the fact. She discounted my symptoms and basically disregarded what I told her I was experiencing. No one should be treated like this during an appointment. I have been very happy with Beaird Dermatology's treatment of my adult acne. My skin improved almost immediately after starting the treatment prescribed during my first appointment. Within a couple months of dosage adjustments, my skin was completely clear and has stayed clear ever since. Also the treatment can help lessen wrinkles! The appointments are on time and efficient. I started to get a rash and bumps on my face about six months ago. I had no idea what was happening with my skin and at my age. I felt very self conscious. I made an appointment with Dr Beaird. Best decision ever! Right when she walked in the door she said oh you have rosacea. And gave me medication and creams. My skin has never looked better. I think it even helps with skin tone and wrinkles. She also suggested a laser treatment for scars on my arms from bug bites. I think the prices are reasonable since my arms are a cosmetic procedure. The facility is cool. The staff is very welcoming and friendly. The dr is energetic and personable. I am so glad I found a dermatologist who listens and properly diagnosed me. read more

My family has been going to Leslie Beaird for 22 years, since she was first with northwest dermatology. We all followed her to her new and sterile white (burrrr) practice like loyal customers. In 22 years I have NEVER complained to her or her staff. My last visit she said nothing to me before my exam or during that my fee would be 1.5 x the normal. When I got to check out I asked the receptionist to explain why or tell me how my dose changed and she couldn't and I asked to speak to the manager and was told she was not available. I was upset because insurance did not cover it. I stated I could not continue to come back for that particular service, NOT any service or ever again. Fast forward a year I called for an appointment and was told Dr Beaird didn't want to treat me because of my attitude. Wow what?! After a long back and forth with the manager she told me they would agree to see me only if I basically behaved myself! All those years as her client and I never got a call from Dr Beaird to discuss my dissatisfaction. She watched my boys grow up, she shared similar sports interests and that's how I'm treated. All those years she was just BS. My brother has the same last name as my niece who didn't pay her bill and she refused to see my brother and wouldn't talk to him about why until I intervened and said he wasn't her father or responsible for her medical bills. I finally paid the bill! They are crazy there. I'm so glad I decided to go to Derrick Dermatology for my biopsy, what a wonderful place and staff. And I'm happy to keep it professional. Worst customer service ever. First time appointment as a new patient. Filled everything out online. My appointment was 9:45 or I thought but it was 9:25. I got there at 9:32. So I thought I was early but regardless I was only 8 min late. They told me that I couldn't be seen. I took time off work and drove 35 min to get there. I filled all the paperwork out before online. I was prepared and ready to go. I did not need to do anything when there but walk in. I guess this doctor must never make any patients wait. If this is the new norm then I guess we all get to throw a fit when left waiting at the doctor. I found it extremely offensive, unprofessional and beyond disrespectful to my time. I will not be going back and would recommend for you to go elsewhere. If my appointment was 9:25 and I show up at 10:25 yes I get it. But 8 min late and you are out sir. If I could give less than star, I would. Had a horrible experience at this facility and will not recommend anyone going in the future. They don't value your time or concerns and the assistants need more customer service training in how to deal with patients. I was scheduled for an in- office procedure and was told I should have arrived 20 minutes prior to my appointment- yet, no one told me to come earlier. On top of that, the doctor (Caroline Robinson) was busy seeing other patients and I would have to wait an additional 30 minutes in order to see her. I was at this office today and I am very disappointed with the service I received. First of all, I was asking the medical provider about a skin lesion I have. This said provider assumed I had this removed in the past, and dismissed my skin lesion. She got me and another patient mixed up.. I was very confused. additionally, I felt like everyone was very dismissive and no one answered my questions. I had 2 quick questions regarding a procedure they offer, but instead of answering my questions quickly, they said I need to make an appointment for a separate consultation. I will not be coming back here again and do not recommend this place due to the dismissive, quantity over quality mentality of this medical office. read more

Pros: clean modern office, friendly office staff, wait times very minimal Cons: WHAT IS THE DEAL WITH THE LACK OF SANITARY PRACTICES? I was here 3 times for a cyst on my face. Both the PA and the doctor touched my cyst (which is actually an infection) without washing their hands first. Even scarier.... not cleaning my skin with alcohol or anything else before cutting into my cyst or injecting it. It happens so fast, you're just sitting there, next thing you know a blade or needle is coming at you. I really wanted to make this my dermatologist but I need more gentle & sterile care. read more

She snapped at me a few times because she couldn't hear me and then once I finally got the appointment booked, she didn't even tell me who it was with until I asked. Appt was scheduled with PA, I was seen by someone who likely had a CNA for removal of stitches after a biopsy, which she very clearly had no idea how to do. It was not done by the provider my appt was scheduled with. The most concerning part was that she said she needed to take photos, I said I don't consent to that, and the first visit the Dr clearly stated photos we're not needed. She didn't care she took the photos against my wishes. She then explained that their site was down so she had to upload them to the Google drive, fantastic! I left in pain from having someone dig stitches out of me, and felt icky and violated after the weird photos she took. read more

I would not recommend Beaird Dermatology to anyone. I went with my son and was told that his issue was nothing and he will "grow out of it". A week later I had to see a dermatologist at Luries children hospital because he was getting worse. The PA at Beaird did not even take the time to correctly diagnose him. I've been to two other dermatologists, both which were at different practices, and neither compared to Beaird Dermatology. Specifically, no doctor in any field that I've seen has compared to Dr. Robinson. I noticed online that Dr. Robinson specializes in hair loss and I was rather desperate, so I made an appointment on a whim. That was one of the best decisions I've made. Her energy, every time that she walks into a room, makes me happy to be there. She is extremely knowledgable and gives you all viable options in an informative, *non-pushy* way. Extra emphasis on the non-pushy way. She talks to you, not at you, and makes all the effort so that you're comfortable and understand what's going on. She's informative, friendly, bubbly, and everything that you could want your dermatologist to be. I would recommend her a thousand times over. read more

Chris, a manager here, was unprofessional and mean on the phone. She started our conversation right away by yelling at me about how stressed she already was. When I asked her not to talk to me that way, she got even angrier and kept going even after she made me cry. She then transferred me while I was still talking. I have never in my life been spoken to or treated this way by a medical professional. I was told I would recieve a call back from Dr. Beaird herself to discuss the situation, but I have not heard back. My family and I have been going to Dr. Beaird for several years, even before she started her own practice. We have loved her and her whole team. Unfortunately, due to this degrading and humiliating experience, we have found someone else. read more

I called to ask if the company was hiring and the receptionist that answered say no and nothing else, to that reply and tone I was surprised, it was a very cold response so I said oh, ok, and she hung up on me. I am a working professional that was told by a client that this Spa was one of the best and I should see if they needed another employee. If by chance this company was hiring or that I was someone that you possibly needed at your practice I promise you I'd never apply or consider it with that type of mannerism towards a question. I had a 3:40p appointment at the office located in Hoffman Estates. I waited in the waiting room for 25 minutes before being brought back to the examination room. The assistant and I spoke about the reason for my visit and I was told that the physician would be in shortly. I waited 35 minutes in the examination room. I literally spent 1 hour in their office without any type of communication as to why my appointment was delayed. After 1 hour (4:40p), I left the examination room. I told the front staff that I had been in the office for an hour without seeing the physician or being notified of them running behind and I didn't have anymore time to dedicate to the appointment. She apologized and said that she would let the Office Manager know. The next day I called the office to speak with the Office Manager, Chris. I asked Chris one question, "Can you tell me why I was sitting in the office yesterday for 1 hour without being seen by the physician"? I was offered an apology (not good enough) and then Chris began to spew buckets and buckets of words that quite frankly, never answered my question. Chris was very unprofessional, tried to overtalk me, said that she would try to improve wait times (try?), and then told me she didn't know what else she could do. What poor customer service skills. She's the Office Manager?!? Wow. It never crossed her mind to offer me another appointment? It never crossed her mind to offer me better times to schedule an appointment so that this issue wouldn't happen again? It never crossed her mind to offer me some type of service in the future based on the outcome of my appointment? I would have really liked to have seen Dr. Robinson. I've heard great things about her. Based on this terrible experience I probably never will, unless I can see her at another location. read more

Do not go here! This is the second year in a row I've seen unethical billing practices from them. I received a bill from them in December for the FIRST TIME for part of a visit from February!! I have never had this experience anywhere else ever. When I questioned it, it was basically 'oh well'! Getting a bill from out of the blue is not ideal around the holidays either. It is a shame because I did like going to Callie, but operating in this unacceptable business manner is not worth the aggravation from their poor customer service. First time ever requiring a dermatologist, but I ended up selecting Dr. Beaird due to her excellent ratings on Healthgrades. My first impression of her new practice was that it was clean, spacious, hours were convenient, friendly employees, and very easy location to get too. I came in with a weird rash and she provided creams and when that didn't work, got me the right prescriptive medicine that cleared up the rash in a week! Now that my rash is cleared up, I am kind of sad I have no other skin issues to warrant a visit. Dr. Beaird is simply amazing... she is someone who obviously loves her job. She is attentive and listens to your concerns while being very personable. She values you time and does not make you wait long. She always came in a few minutes after my appointment time. None of my appointments has long waits that dragged on. read more
