They have continuous shows of all different types live performances, magician shows, musicals, bands, and local artists. We saw the high school group from Saline Michigan the fiddler's dancers and mandolin player. They were so entertaining and so talented that I would've loved the show to go on for another couple of hours. The seats for this performance were $22 and the tickets were held at will call for us which was easy enough for us to order over the phone and pick them up in person the day of the show. I will definitely be returning here for more of the entertainment and I recommend this Pix Theater to anyone who is in the area and wants a fairly inexpensive night of entertainment .

Pros: it has an actual full-service bar, so I can get my drink on- I mean serious drinks, too, not just beer and wine, but full-on mixed drinks/specialty cocktails. The drinks are not cheap, though. Let's just call it what it is- "convenience prices," particularly for the beers on tap. Case in point? $10 for a short Angry Orchard??? Yep, that's what I paid. I don't know how much the taller version cost because I didn't bother to ask. Honestly though, the cocktail prices are in line with some of the casinos in Vegas, but we all know the old saying, "When in Rome, do as the Romans do," so there's that. Beyond being able to drink here, they have a decent restaurant with regular food, like pizza (i.e. not just popcorn and Twizzlers movie theatre junk). Again, high prices, but you can actually say it's real food, not just candy and junk food. If you're adverse to eating popcorn or fried mozzarella sticks, it might be the way to go. Oh, and for the popcorn noshers, they had a huge variety of cheese/seasoning shakers located in the lobby to season popcorn. I liked the extra options because plain salt is boring. Unfortunately, they are attached to the backboard on a wire, probably to decrease the occurrences of theft. Seriously, who the heck steals popcorn seasoning? As for the theatre itself, this one has super comfortable reclining seats with foot rests. These are the best movie theatre seats anywhere. They were so comfortable, I almost fell asleep during a screening of Alien:Covenant- almost. It's obvious this particular Emagine location was renovated pretty recently. Those seats were new and I could tell. The upgrades were nice and definitely needed. It's obvious this particular Emagine location was renovated recently. I've been here a few times before, but it's much nicer than it used to be, although it always had the bar and whatnot. They also had wait service during the film. Seriously, they took food and drink orders from inside the theatre and brought it to our seats! Emagine staff would drop by and ask if we needed anything from the bar or grill. I liked that! It's the best appointed movie theatre in the area, without a doubt. Getting through ticket purchase and concessions in the lobby was a breeze. Despite the crowd, those lines moved at a lightening pace. I was surprised because I thoroughly expected the line from hell. The cons: there really weren't many. Yes, the ticket price was very slightly elevated (no doubt, to defray the costs of such a nice upgrade), but it was worth it. Plus, they don't have traditional IMAX screens, either, like NCG. Instead, they have 3D and DBOX, which isn't exactly the same. The only other potentially negative aspect (and I'm not even sure if it couldn't be either a pro or a con, depending upon the situation) was that now you have to select your seats on a screen during ticket purchase. Hmm. It remains to be seen whether I really like that change or not. I can totally see why they are doing it- to prevent overselling of tickets and ensuring that groups/couples can sit together. I get it. I just don't know if I love it yet. I also wonder if this new method might cause more headaches or delays during ticket purchase, but I'm not sure. It wasn't a big deal to us at that time, but I could see it potentially becoming a bit bothersome down the line. Like I said, I see why they're doing it, I just don't know if I like it or not. Overall, great theatre with excellent service and amenities. I know I'll be going back.

We were the only 3 people in the theater, so asking to turn down the volume was not going to ruin anyone's "experience". I asked three times to lower the volume, which was beyond obnoxious. I mean come on, it's a movie for children, can we not read the room! My Mom and I were able to tell they did lower the volume some, but was told that was as low as they could lower it Really?! It was so beyond for a child that we told them we wanted our money back and we left. $49 for 2 adults, 1 child, 2 bottled waters, and 2 small popcorns.

The recliners are comfy, cozy, and have a good view of the screen. The staff keeps the premises and auditoriums very clean, despite how busy it gets. This movie theater is prone to bouts of understaffing, which is when you get a messier premises, but they are on top of things regularly which I appreciate. My biggest problem is with how expensive this theater has gotten. Charging almost $10 for a drink, and then charging almost the same price for a popcorn, is a bit outrageous. It used to be that you could get a large combo for $9.25, and they did away with the medium size entirely. It also used to have a nice and spacious concession stand/ ticket counter, which is now cluttered/ crowded with stanchions and candy/ merchandise that nobody buys. I also do miss when seasonings were included at the butter stations. That may be the fault of the company as a whole, but it is sorely missed. Their new IMAX area is quite lovely. Definitely feels like a VIP experience walking in and through it.

We say "The Incredibles 2" and "Avengers: Infinity War". I would like a larger screen, but this was not bad. I do like the audio coming thru your car radio. Obviously your audio quality will depend on your car audio system, but it worked just fine for us. The place is obviously very dated and has seen some better days, but there were a lot of families with kids and the crowd seemed to be very happy. Also the employees were very friendly and helpful. The bathrooms, while adequate, could stand to be a bit tidier. I mention it because the nights show is typically 4+ hours (double features, remember)so it is not at all unreasonable to think you may need to use the restrooms at some point. These places make their money on the concessions. We got some popcorn and it was fine. We did take some sandwiches and stuff of our own though in a cooler. Wish they had a better selection. All in all, it was a very positive experience. I would go back more often if I lived closer. (From royal oak, its almost a 2 hour drive...I was visiting some friends in Port Huron though, so that's how I wound up there.) If you want a fun night with the kids, this is a bit of nostalgia that is well worth trying out.

The owner still hadn't set a hard date for closing when I visited last week but is saying September so if you read this soon you might be able to hit last call at Ye Olde Cinema. It's strip mall location might not have the romance of a classic stand alone single auditorium theater but there is a thrift store just a stone's throw away and hey, business owners have to work with what they can get. Two theaters give this a little variety and it definitely doesn't feel like a multiplex. The popcorn is much ballyhooed to the point they sell it to go for folks who don't even want to buy a movie ticket and they're discussing doing pop ups with the popcorn machine after this 40 year old institution goes the way of the dodo. I found it better than most but nothing out of this world either. It scores high with the butter but the kernel size is smallish with more crumbs than you'd usually find. I do greatly appreciate Romeo Theatre offers a small popcorn and drink combo at a cheap price. All the corporate multiplexes charge nearly the same price for a small drink and popcorn as they do for a large combo leading me to gouge myself on more unhealthy snacks than I'd otherwise consume and oftentimes throwing so many leftovers in the trash bin. My last trip to Emagine I took my 3/4 full monstrous cardboard popcorn bucket home with me, put tinfoil over it and it lasted several more nights by which point it was far from appetizing. No such nonsense like that here though. Admission was reasonable, too. I'd already seen The Odyssey and I knew the end here was nearing so I opted to see The Brink of War, a misnamed talkfest starring a miscast Jeff Daniels as Ronald Reagan and the always excellent Jared Harris having a second go as a Russian as Gorbachev. I think the filmmakers got Gorbachev a little confused with Khrushchev as Gorbie lost his composure and pounded the table 4 or 5 different times. It wasn't the worst movie though it wasn't the most subtle at giving propaganda at certain points. As other reviewers have noted cup holders attached to the seat in front of you can pose potential problems but even with the eminent closure I had no problem finding a spot with an empty seat in front of me. Everyone in that theater less than a third full looked like they could remember the principal characters in that Iceland summit. I'm glad I made the trek out past 30 Mile though I might be kicking myself if a much more appealing film gets shown before the lights dim here for the last time.

They all go out decorating the theater to match what movie they are playing. We watched Hotel Transylvania and they put up cobwebs and decorated in a Halloween theme even though it was July! The owner came out when everyone was seated and greeted all the guests and even gave out prizes to special marked tickets. At the end of the show he handed out paper masks to all the kids. I would love to go back and see another movie to see if they continue to add themes to the theater.
