Only until almost 11:50 was I informed that they were having technical difficulties and would need to reschedule. Soonest date they could do was five days ahead, which didn't work, so had to reschedule for next week. There was also a massive queue of people. It seemed reliance on remote appointments using technology made them unable to handle the volume of clients. Should've been told there were difficulties at time of appointment at the latest. EDIT: An appointment opened up next day, and I took it. Despite the difficulties from the day before, the staff, specifically the Optometrist Dr Saveri and the Optical Specialist Lead Tiana made this experience worthwhile. Dr Saveri was efficient in determining my new prescription and recommended a welcome change to my contacts, and Tiana provided excellent insight and advice with picking new frames. Visionworks should definitely focus more on the in person experience perhaps with hiring one more Optometrist or two to handle more volume since that is where this location shines.

This refusal effectively blocks me from ordering glasses online, forcing me to pay their high in-office prices ($475 for s simple pair) or take on a 5-hour round trip drive. When I called to request the PD, which is a standard measurement required for all online orders, I was told I must come in-person. This is unacceptable customer service, especially for a former patient who has moved. The office is deliberately withholding a critical piece of my health information to force me back into their physical location, which is 2.5 hours away. Prospective patients should be aware: This office practices poor transparency and will make it unnecessarily difficult and expensive for you to obtain affordable eyewear elsewhere. I do not recommend this practice." On top if it, I must also mention the lack of hygience, and care in this office. I had the worst experience during the texam, and the office is so outdated, and dirty. Please do not go to this office.

Until 2018, Dr. Schoeppner was my opthalmologist for several years. In 2018, she told me that I…read morewould soon require laser treatments and/or injections in the eyes due to the condition of my retinas. I decided to get a second opinion and made an appointment at Mid-Atlantic Retina, where the doctor there told me that my retinas were in good condition and that I shouldn't let anyone shine lasers in my eyes or inject my eyes with needles, and to return to see him in a year. Then the doctor at Mid-Atlantic Retina said to me, "Fuchs Corneal Dystrophy", to which I replied, "What?"... he told me I had Fuchs Corneal Dystrophy, explained the nature of the disease, and asked if Dr. Schoeppner had ever told me I had Fuchs; when I told him that she had never said anything about it to me, he promised to send her a letter and recommend some OTC drops that would help with the condition. The next time I saw Dr. Schoeppner in 2018, she never mentioned getting the letter about the Fuchs, or even that I had the corneal disease, so, finally I asked her about it, and when I did, she got very huffy with me and said to me, "I found it to incidental (not sure what she meant by that) and I see that all the time in my elderly patients!" Well, what was "incidental" to her was very serious to me. For years I had told her about issues I was having, like seeing halos around car headlights and tail lights and street lights, which are symptoms of FCD, and she never once commented on what I told her or mentioned that I have Fuchs Corneal Dystrophy, a disease of the cornea in which the endothelial or inner cell lining of the cornea starts to deteriorate, i. e., those cells of the inner lining of the cornea die, which causes the eyes to water a lot, sensitivity to light, especially blue light, like that from computer and phone screens and even fluorescent lighting. I have been seeing a cornea specialist, who is the Director of the Cornea Fellowship Program at Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia, for a few years now, and she has determined that I have a moderate case of FCD. If and when it should progress any further, there is a surgical option available to avoid the worst case scenario of going blind. I sure am glad that I decided to get a second opinion back in 2018. And needless to say, Dr. Schoeppner is no longer my ophthalmologist!

The reason? They changed their hours. They SHOULD have called me, told me that their hours had changed and then asked me which days and times were convenient for me to reschedule. I wouldn't have had a problem with that. I cancelled the appointment because I already had a prior commitment. Today, I scratched my cornea and Express Care told me to make an appointment with my eye doctor within a few days. I called, told the receptionist the problem and then mentioned that I did not want them to reschedule as they did before. The nasty receptionist yelled at me that they had no openings today and when I tried to explain that it did not have to be today, she hung up on me. I won't return and my wife also found a new doctor for both if us. They lost 2 patients because of a rude receptionist.
