This restaurant is located in a shopping complex. You can easily identify the NOLA colors from the street. We were greeted as soon as we walked in. The owner took our order and she was very sweet. We ordered the burger po boy. It was delicious and flavorful. The desserts are where they shine. The bayou brownie...wow!!! My mouth is still watering thinking about it. The turtle cheesecake was so good. I was expecting it to be too sweet because it is drenched in caramel, but it was perfect. I highly recommend this place! I first had something to eat from them through Grubhub I think it was. I ordered their gumbo and some praline caramel cheesecake. Now the gumbo was good, but me with my certain taste had to update it to my liking. Don't get me wrong, it was good!! However I'm used to having a slightly thicker roux and okra in mine. So the chef in me made a little more roux and threw some okra in it and it was perfect for me. I ordered two of the gumbos with the rice on the side. Theres nothing like ordering gumbo with the rice already in it then you go to eat it there's no juice at all. All you have is mush at that point. So never order gumbo with rice already in it. Some of these places cook gumbo with the rice already in it while cooking it. Steer clear of those, that's not real gumbo. I'm originally from Lake Charles La, so I have some insight on gumbo, cajun gumbo. The praline caramel cheesecake, "OH MY GOD!!" was so delicious!! Now if you're a diabetic, you'll have to have will power to stay away from that very sweet treat as well as their pralines. It's soooo gooood!! I was on a mission today to go to this place to find out where they were located. You walk into this store and oh my. You smell the entire Cajun country coming from this place and it's so delightful. I did manage to take a few pictures for all of you of the establishment and their sweet treats. The food is really banging over there. Today I ordered a po boy cajun burger with a red beans and rice for the side. I only ordered half of the po boy since I also have the red beans and rice which is a meal on its own. Placed an order from here and NEVER received it! This place scammed me out of my money, I haven't heard a thing from them and haven't received my product. So disappointed in this establishment. I will make sure that all of my co-workers and people know on social media to not order from here. This is sad, you try and support businesses but end up getting scammed in the end. It was... okay. Portions were... okay, decent. Food taste was... a lot like it came from a Zatarain's mix, but without any extra oomph or flavor added. It wasn't bad, but, it wasn't 'WOW' either. All the reviews are saying it is all wonderful, maybe today was just an off day. The service was very ... not great. I walked in, gave my name for my online order, the person at the counter picked a bag up and sat it in front of me on the counter. .... silence. Okay, I asked it this was mine, and she said 'yeah'. If you're looking for a NOLA flavor or cuisine this is the place to go. I absolutely love this place from the customer service to the decor and ambiance. But my favorite of all are the sno ball with extra condensed milk for me please. This place was heaven sent because it's not easy getting to the city for things but this hidden gem that's not far from me cures my craving for a strawberry cheesecake sno ball with cheesecake stuffed in the middle my goodness . Convenient location off the main road. If you like New Orleans cuisine and desserts definitely recommend visiting Nawlins. They do a lot in the community and from time to time have lines out the door with their seafood specials. Great service and areas to eat inside. I recently visited this business on a Sunday. 2 employees were taking my order. A white couple entered the store at which time both employees left me and started helping the white couple. I walked over to the 2 employees and asked them if they forgotten about me. I was completely ignored I asked again for assistance. I exited the store. I called back to speak with the manager who apologized and asked me to come back to the store. unacceptable experience. I was in the mood for something sweet and found this cute little NOLA inspired small business. The owners are N.O. natives and offer more than just pralines here. I actually would have loved to have some gumbo, but this is currently a seasonal item and wasn't available. Bummer! However, they offer a ton of snow ball flavors and combinations. I chose the nectar...it was a natural sweet but not too sugary and the small portion for $2.75 was generous. I also ordered a rice bowl, since I noticed they offer lunch as well. This $7.50 bowl included roasted chicken, rice, beans, and veggie toppings. My food wasn't prepared in the kitchen, it looks like it was all pre-made and assembled right in front of me. The bowl was prepared like a salad so I was topped it with the cilantro lime dressing and chipotle. It was pretty delicious...I ate the entire thing! It was pretty slow during the early part of the afternoon on a weekday. Which may explain why there wasn't an abundance of pralines. Yet, the owner was very personable and friendly telling me more about the menu, even stating the gumbo may be making a comeback. When it does I'll be back to give it a taste! read more

As a native of New Orleans, I looked forward to supporting this business. The pralines were good, just missing enough pecans. Barely a few pieces in each praline we purchased. I was most offended by the over pricing. $2.50 for a soda that was marked $0.99. The biggest shock was $35 for a king cake. I understand that it came from the city however, that was WAY more than anyone should be asked to pay for a pastry. As a consumer, I felt like I was being taken advantage of. I really want to give 5 stars because when I did get a snowball and some other food from here, it was good. The problem is that within the past 5 days I've come up here when it is supposed to be open for another 3-4 hours and found the door locked and all lights off. I stopped by here for a late lunch and to satisfy my sweet tooth. I'm glad I did! I ordered a muffuletta combo with a side of jambalaya. The portion size is very generous and I had to force myself to eat it all. (I wasn't going straight home and the food was too good to waste!) everything was hot and made to order. The jambalaya came with a sauce on the side. I forgot to try the sauce until after I finished eating so the dish was great on its own. I also had two pralines. The pralines are creamy and delicious. They taste freshly made and are amazing. Service was great and the woman behind the counter did a great job explaining the menu. She was also very friendly which I always appreciate.
