It's a humble mom and pop establishment. Walked in the door I was greeted. All of the food was labeled and immediately recognizable. It was quiet and smelled delicious. The turkey is smoky a little bit of spice and delicious. The cabbage is good if you love garlic, which I do when I have goat meat sauce drizzled on my peas and rice. I have to try it again to make sure it wasn't a fluke . read more

I wanna give them another try i was in the area at another restaurant on the strip and decided to stop in to take a look and decide to try atleast something and that's just what i did . I decided to try this one particular dish, which pretty much was just rice, but it so happened to be unique. It was salmon rice never would've thought of that salmon fried rice but it was delicious. The proportion was decent only due to the fact that it was the bottom of the pot I guess at the end of the day, but I still wanted it so I can try it out. The lady at the counter told me to the place are usually eight dollars but since it was the bottom of the pot, she sold it to me for five so that was not a bad idea or a bad deal and the rice so happens to be good. I wish I had the option to have something else or a little bit more but that goes to show why I'll be back again to try . read more

The rudeness is what stood out. The cashier lady got mad because she told me the wrong price. The sloppy cook came out and literally cussed me out called be a b!tch because she over charged me then I saw a mouse (yes a mouse!), so I didn't want any food from there and wanted my money back. There is no menu or prices anywhere. read more

I will have to add pictures but listen... GREAT FOOD here. You will not be disappointed. .... OK that was my opinion a long time back. My wife knew that every Tuesday I had enough time to make it there for my favorite - jerked turkey wings! I always paired it up with the escovitch chicken. But, since that lady cook left, the food doesn't hit the same. The flavor is LACKING. I mentioned the escovitch chicken... last time it was just "ok" and i told myself "Welp. Guess I need to find a new spot." Hadn't been back until today. So this is my third time back since she left (voluptuous bright toned lady... found her in Loganville at another restaurant). I don't know what changed but it isn't the same. Still... the food is not horrible. It's ok but for the money and the hour I spend to get there and back home, I have better options. Heck I do my own jerked turkey wings and they are waaaaaay better than Wavez. But they used to be DELICIOUS. I turned my sister and all my kids onto them so, when I said they used to be friggin' awesome, I ain't playin'. Yall need to fix something. I'm not sure what it is but I'm good I think, unless maybe I have no alternatives. read more

I have come here a few times over the last couple of years. Most recently during the holiday season. I've tried the oxtail and the curry goat a few times. I've always enjoyed my meals. Everything has good flavor however it's not the best I've had. The curry goat has more bones than I'd like and the oxtail is a little tougher but overall still one of the best in the area. They are located in a lot right next to a chevron gas station. There's typically ample parking. The workers are Jamaican so I could tell the food is authentic. They have a variety of options on the menu but I tend to stick to my favs. Check them out if you are in the area. read more

The soup on Saturday... Amazing and the fried chicken stole my taste buds.. great spot in the snellville area

I'm Jamaican so I'm super picky about my Jamaican food. This restaurant gets an A+. We actually utilized other Yelp reviews in making a decision to try this restaurant out. The woman up front offered excellent customer service as we were indecisive in making our selections. We decided on oxtails, jerk chicken and jerk turkey wings. The portion sizes were big and the pricing appropriate for each dish. I would dine here again and highly recommend this restaurant. *Sorry that the family started eating before I could take any photos of the food. I will update with photos next time I visit. read more

The fare is decent but pricey, the food is prepared to order, it sits in warming trays and if you go late in the day you can see the effects of the food sitting in those trays for hours at a time. read more

My new go to spot for delicious Caribbean food. Hands down the best spot I have found so far. Food: My gawd the Jerk Chicken wings were "fall-off-the-bone" tender and so juicy and moist. The meat literally fell off the bone the second I picked it up with my fork. And the flavor is so good. Perfect spice/heat to it and the seasoning is on point. I also got to try the fried chicken and Jerk Turkey wings. Man the fried chicken was out of this world. I have never tried any fried chicken like these. So flavorful, tender, juicy, and skin was crunchy, with the perfect spice and the seasoning. I wonder if they cater because I need to bring their fried chicken to my next potluck. Man! And the jerk turkey wings! Woah so good! They really know how to season their food because the flavor was so good. Nothing like I have ever had before. The best Caribbean food hands down in Snellville. Ambiance: Well I have only ever got my food to go, but the place was quiet, and clean. Service: The service was great. Nice customer service. Great attitude. Fast. Overall: Yes I would recommend coming here asap. I will continue to be a repeat customer. The food is well-seasoned and flavorful. Customer service was fantastic. And the place was clean and quiet. Highly recommended. read more

I was house hunting and felt for some Caribbean food in Snellville and stumbled across this restaurant on Yelp. This is very decent authentic Caribbean food. As a Trinidadian, it's hard to find decent Caribbean food here in Atlanta. I ordered the Salmon fried rice, oxtails, steam cabbage and plantains. Pros: Friendly staff. Clean. Prices are decent. The oxtails was tender and well seasoned. Cons: The salmon fried rice was a little hard. It was a $3 upcharge which was fine but not for the rice to not be cooked fully. Just needed to cook a few minutes longer. It was well seasoned and didn't taste fishy. That's the only reason I gave it 4 stars. Couldn't leave 4 1/2. I saw the jerk Turkey wings and it looked delicious and tender. I also asked for a sample that fell off the bone lol. I would visit again if I'm in the area. read more

We made it in the door within 15 minutes to closing ON A MONDAY and got everything our hearts desired! Oxtail was jerk turkey leg was patty was friendly. Walking in you know it's REAL Jamaican food how's that for ambiance. Yellow walls and tv turned to a 60-70s love song channel read more

This is the best Jamaican food spot on the north side of ATL; good service, nice size portions, and the jerk turkey wings is 5 stars.

This is my go to Jamaican spot. I use to get oxtails but one day I asked the lady for something spicy and she recommended the curry goat. The rest is history! Just the right amount of spiciness and you get a lot of food for a small plate. They are not stingy with the gravy either. read more

Been looking for good oxtail in the area and these definitely disappointed. I should have gone to Golden Krust for mediocre oxtail. These had too much browning and no seasoning. Bitter is the best way to describe them. read more

You know the one place that you pray is open because you had a long day at work, don't feel like cooking, and want some comfort food? I have 2 or 3 and this is easily my Favorite. With reasonable prices (10-15$ for most dishes exempt oxtail) and it's cafeteria style set up this becomes the perfect place for my grab and go mentality after a long day. Also their serving sizes are typically large enough for 2 meals or perfect to share. I'd definitely suggest giving this place who if you like homemade style food. Especially if you like a little spice. read more

Delicious Jamaican food. The restaurant it's clean and organized. The portions are average. The prices are a little above other Jamaican restaurants in the area. For less money I can get larger servings and tasty food down the street BUT I will say that the food here is good too! Recommended. read more

Above and beyond Wavez is one of my husband's favorite restaurant. So I decided to have them cater a small (7 person) surprise dinner I had for his birthday. I placed my order and provided a $50 deposit 13 days before the dinner. But when I arrived to the restaurant I was told there was a miscommunication with the chef and I was offered a refund. I let them know that was not an acceptable resolution because I had guest arriving within the hour. The owner came out personally to speak with me. After I explained the situation, he worked with me to determine acceptable substitutes for the items that were out of stock - providing more expensive replacement items at the lower cost. He also refunded my deposit to make up for the inconvenience. As always the food was delicious - plantains, cabbage, jerk chicken wings, and jerk turkey wings. Jerk turkey wings are my husband's favorite and did not disappoint. As a matter of fact, they were every one's favorite part of the dinner. My brother in law is a cook (BBQ) in south Georgia who doesn't particularly like turkey and he loved Wavez jerk turkey wings. No one is perfect. Mistakes happen. How we handle those mistakes defines our character. Thank you, Wavez for going above and beyond to make things right. read more

The jerk Turkey is my all time favorite I recommend this as in the top Carribean in the area

Absolutely love this place ! I've been going here for years the portions are immaculate. I get the small turkey wing platter and I think it's about $17 (2024 pricing). The customer service ok but imma be honest that's not what I'm here for I'm here for the food lol but they are all really nice . Overall I would give them a 11/10 . This place is like 45 mins from me and I still make the drive ! read more

As a neighborhood restaurant and having been raised in Jamaica, it is disappointing when the level of service of an establishment such as Wavez is at an all time low. I ordered lunch one day and the attitude from behind the counter made me nervous about eating the food. The young lady at the counter hardly greeted her customers, and treated me like her ex husband that's 6 years overdue on child support. So, I will not be returning. The previous employees were genuinely nice. The new ones need coaching. Too many restaurants in Georgia to choose, get it right Wavez! read more

Found this place in my GPS looking for food and I thoroughly enjoyed. It's very clean inside and the food is already prepared which made lunch on the go a breeze. The jerk isn't too hot like most Jamaican spots which I love because sometimes the spice can be overbearing. The collards were well seasoned and she put curry juice on my rice which was delicious. I had the jerk turkey wings which were good; the smaller ones were a little fatty; however the bigger ones had more meat and were delicious. Will definitely return! read more

I visited Wavez Bakery because of its good reviews. Upon entering the restaurant we were greeted by our cashier. She answered all of my questions and she was polite. I saw no health score; I always look for the health score. I ordered a small Brown stew chicken, rice and peas, collard greens and plantain. The portion is huge! My Husband ordered his usual, a large curry goat, rice and peas, collard greens and plantain. We both ordered a cream soda as well. Our order came to a little over $24. Amazing price for homemade food and the portions. My chicken was flavorful, seasoned and falling off the bone. Rice and peas were spot on, and my collards were aldente and not over seasoned. My gravy had beautiful and colorful bell peppers, my peas and rice has little traces of thyme sprigs. I felt and tasted the love in my food. My Husband thoroughly enjoyed his goat and mention how much more meat this goat had!!! I think we've found out new favorite Jamaican spot!!! read more
