Love their Kachi gosht biryani. Good portions !! Their service is okay and their ambiance needs a little more improvement.

This was my second time…read morevisiting this restaurant, and I was looking forward to it, as the food was wonderful the first time around. The only thing that I didn't like the first time around, and didn't like this time around either, was the lighting. It was much too dark in the restaurant, even though it was daytime. We were even sitting at a table near the bar, which had potlights however, it was still dark. We were served by Nimrat, whom brought over our menus, and allowed us ample time to order our items. I had settled on butter chicken, with a side order of regular naan, and plain rice. The food took a bit long to arrive however, since there were seven in our group, I understood why the food took longer to prepare. However, once the food came, I was very happy with how delicious everything was! The butter chicken came in a large dish, which was placed on top of a small pot with a flame inside, which kept the butter chicken hot during my entire visit; this was a great addition to the meal! The naan was an excellent accompaniment, along with the plain rice; everything was well-prepared, with the perfect amount of flavouring. It also wasn't spicy, which is perfect for my taste buds; this chef definitely knows how to cook an excellent meal! Nimrat checked on us regularly, filling our glasses with water, and taking away any dishes that we had finished with. Even the owner came by to greet us, and ask how we were enjoying everything. Overall, this place had excellent food, with wonderful service provided by Nimrat, and beautiful décor. The only thing that I didn't like was the lighting however, I would definitely come back.

This place opens at 5 pm so no lunch .... open for late night dinner till 2 am. Went in , restaurant had an overwhelming bouquet of Indian food , after few minutes felt like their exhaust was not working and all kitchen smoke was flowing in . Not good for dine in but we resisted n ordered chicken tikka masala n dal makhani with garlic butter naan .First the servers are not dine in friendly as we ordered the server said " u will have to wait for 50 min as we are too busy with take out orders " , though the restaurant was almost empty with 2 tables occupied . We were patient n waited . To our good luck food arrived in 38 minutes . Vooooooo yeah ! Food looked appetizing , tried the crispy butter garlic naan with dal makhni n chicken tikka masala . To my surprise the food was tasty . Though it lacked authenticity but it was a great creation by the chefs toward the success of the gourmet ! Most irritating n uncalled in the whole experience was the lack of oxygen in the restaurant to breathe with all the smoke around . Though the food experience was good but I may not visit again due to unhealthy ambience . 3 stars for the food !!!!

Pictures do not do this dish justice honestly it doesn't look that appetizing but it's flavorful and spicy but I also like that it is not heavy the sauce but still thick I paired it with my Trinidadian paratha and it was honestly the best combination ever I will be going back and trying more dishes in the future

Now that I've become a full time baseball dad where travelling outside of the GTA is part of the…read moregig, I now have an excuse to take my foodie road show to far (farther) away places. As part of the exhibition season, the first stop takes us to Caledon. We decided to go there early to beat the traffic and to find a nice place to eat an early pre-game dinner and to hang out for a little bit (by hanging out we really mean to finish his Chinese school/math homework...LOL). Of all the types of cuisine available in Caledon, we opted for Indian. What? Seriously?, Indian food in Caledon??? To my surprise, Caledon's Curry and Cocktail is a pretty legit Indian place. We went with a lighter (we thought it was a lighter order between the two of us) order, considering that there's a game still to be played: butter chicken, chicken samosa and a mango lassi to wash things down. Butter chicken was rich, savoury, super buttery and had the right mix of spicy. They were rather generous with the basmati rice... we couldn't finish it. The chicken samsosa were the heavier batt-ery type and not the thin crunch type. Which is fine by me. The filling was in the form of minced chicken. I personally would have preferred chunkier chicken. But still a good, satisfying appetizer. If you aren't super hungry, this could of been a mini meal. In addition, the hot sauce that was paired with the samosas was a perfect match. Finally, the mango lassi tasted exactly how a mango lassi should taste like...fruity and yoghurty. If I'm ever back in this neck of the woods, I would not hesitate to return to Caledon's Curry and Cocktail. Stay tuned for our next stop, erh... I mean after the game when my son is hungry again.
