I found Dave in the car forums and seemed like a very knowledgeable member already so I contacted him there. Little did I know that he actually runs this business, excellently I must say which prompted me to open a yelp account and write a review of my experience with him. As with all the positive reviews, my experience was no different! Background: My 2007 Lexus IS250 suffered from the infamous burnt out gauge cluster needle backlighting. Rather than remove the gauge cluster from the car (intimidating), ship it out of state (rendering my car un-drivable), and pay lots of money for the repair, I was looking for a cheaper and local solution. Thankfully I found Dave who is 5 miles away from me, said he can replace the surface mount LEDs within 40 mins, including removal and installation, AND all be done under half the price of the competitors! I went ahead and scheduled an appointment based on the reviews here and am very glad I did. From the minute I met Dave he was very professional and obviously skilled with the IS platform (he has a beautiful IS350 himself). He removed the gauge cluster in under 5 minutes all while talking to me! Bringing it over to his work bench he was able to remove all 4 needles to replace the LEDs to the color of my choice. I chose blue instead of the standard white (pictures do not do this color justice). Within half an hour, using miniature tweezers to install the ultra small Samsung LEDs, seeing him push solder and flux through the board, and calibrating the needles to zero with precision, the gauge cluster was repaired and more beautiful than ever! We were chatting throughout the entire process too, being that we both went to the same college and have similar electrical engineering backgrounds (he obviously has better soldering skill). Dave is a standup guy with all the technical knowledge and right tools of the trade to get the job done properly. He uses high quality products for his work such as correct ROHS compliant solder, and even bench tested the gauge cluster before reinstallation to ensure proper function. His prices are very competitive and I highly recommend his service to anyone! read more

Dave quickly removed, serviced, and replaced my dead navigation touch screen, then reassembled my dashboard carefully, avoiding damage to the wood trim in my 2007 Lexus RX350. The job was finished, complete with receipt, in 50 minutes. On our 48 mile return trip home not a rattle was heard. Six days later ALL functions perform perfectly including an updated Navigation disc which Dave installed gratis! Dave is a true professional in the sense he puts the clients' needs and customer service first. I got my tundra back from the dealership today after they installed a supercharger and they said they had to remove the connectors that powered the amp to my aftermarket stereo system and I would need to go back to the place that I had the system installed for them to hook it back up. This was Saturday evening, and the 1 hour drive home with traffic without music and two young kids in the back screaming got me really impatient to get this handled Asap!!! After getting the kids down for bed (745 pm), I jumped on Yelp to see if I could get this done on Sunday, knowing the shop that installed my stereo would closed that day and came across Dave's yelp page. I texted the number to see his availability and within 1 minute he responded. We went back and forth via text so I could try my best to explain the situation to him. He concluded that it would be an easy fix and told me he would take a look at it for me if i would be willing to meet him. (I think he could tell I really wanted to fix the situation asap, and he was right.) This was around 830 pm. I rushed out of the house and made the trip to meet him. When I arrived I could tell he had friends or family over but stopped what he was doing to inspect my situation. He brought out his tools and within 10 mins the situation had been resolved. Stereo was working again and I was very happy. I asked Dave if there was a bank close by since rushing out of the house I forgot to bring money with me and he told me don't worry about it; it was nothing. Before texting Dave I read basically all the Yelp reviews and a common theme was that he was honest and reliable and I have to say first hand, that definitely was the case. For someone like myself that is not savvy when it comes to this type of stuff I am always weary and try to do as much research as possible so I don't get screwed over. I came into this looking to spend 100 - 200 (worth it for me) to resolve the situation. And for him to make an exception to meet me this late on a Saturday while he has friend and family over shows and charges me nothing, shows me what type of person he is. Believe the hype!!! If I could give Navigation Services 6 stars, I would do so. Dave is a very honest individual who provides an incredible service for an unbeatable price!!! While dealerships would charge $2K+, Dave does the service for less than 1/10th of what they would charge and gets it done in 30 minutes. After watching a YouTube video on how to repair the IS250 navigation screen (my NAV system was unresponsive to the touch) yesterday (August 11th), I thought I could do the repair on my own - because who would pay a dealership $2K+ when they can fix it for free. After spending a few hours driving around to get the equipment and tools needed for the job and trying to do the actual work, I realized that this knucklehead wasn't meant to be a mechanic. So out of anxiety of getting it replaced immediately and my boss (wife) yelling at me for ruining the dashboard (stripped away quite a bit of the melting rubber around the dash trying to repair the NAV), I looked at Yelp and noticed the 5-star ratings for Navigation Services. I called Dave and left a message and he got back to me later saying that he could do the work today (August 12th). I just got back about an hour ago from the repair and was thrilled that the problem was fixed. The touch screen works like new and now I can drive around with the map and have the A/C controlled (versus on full blast when the NAV was not working). Dave is simply incredible. I was researching various shops to install an aftermarket headunit in my Lexus RC. All of the shops quoted me prices that were above my budget, until I met Dave. I couldn't believe it when he quoted me such a low price. I expected it to be one of those "you get what you pay for" situations. Nevertheless, I ended up scheduling a meeting with Dave (super fast and easy). When I arrived with my car and the headunit, he was prepared and told me it would take him two hours to install everything. I returned to see the finished product and, wow, he outdid any shop! He made certain that all of the cables were hidden, and that the extra USB cable was inside the glove box rather than hanging out like other shops would. Now comes the part that distinguishes him as a true professional. During the installation, Dave mentioned that he couldn't get the backup camera or the center console touchpad to work with the new headunit. I contacted (Lexion), the screen's manufacturer, to see if there was a way to make those functions work properly. Because the company is based in Korea, they did not contact me until late Saturday night, around 8:00 PM. I contacted Dave to schedule an appointment to fix the problems with my screen. To my surprise, he responded within minutes and stated that he could do the job (which implied removing the screen and rewiring a connector) right away!I drove, and he fixed the problem at no extra charge.
