5 stars for Tom at Beach Auto Sound. I brought my 2017 Chevy Tahoe in to have the factory 8-inch MyLink screen replaced. What should have been a straightforward job turned into a much more difficult situation because the first replacement screen I purchased from another company would not power on. Tom was extremely patient and thorough. He checked and reseated the ribbon cable, went through the proper power-down/sleep-cycle procedures, rechecked the connections, and reinstalled my original screen to confirm that the problem wasn't with the Tahoe. My original screen powered right back up. The replacement company then sent me a second screen, and unfortunately that one had the exact same problem. Tom went through everything again and even repeatedly tried contacting the manufacturer for technical support while my Tahoe was at his shop. After I finally purchased a different replacement screen from OEAutoTronics, Tom installed it and it worked perfectly. What impressed me most was that Tom didn't just rush through the job or start replacing other parts unnecessarily. He took the time to troubleshoot the problem correctly and stuck with it through multiple visits and two defective replacement screens. Excellent service, very knowledgeable, patient, and trustworthy. I would definitely recommend Tom and Beach Auto Sound for car audio and factory infotainment work. read more

Was busy for 35 minutes selling an elderly lady a sound system she didn't need finally he went out to my Jeep and checked it out and his prices were unbelievably high for what I needed done. So he quoted me $1,300 for insulation and I ended up paying only 325 read more

Don't waste your time here. Incredibly rude and unprofessional. Came here asking for help and rather than just saying they didn't want to help, I was hit with cheap insults before getting hit with them trying to make a sale on me. I would have been more likely to throw money at this place if the person working here even bothered to give me 5 minutes of their time without seeming annoyed the entire time. Seriously, find somewhere else. read more

I called and spoke with a gentleman named "Tommy". I was inquiring about sound deadening for my Ford Edge. He did not pitch me but rather told me honestly - "try changing your tires first and if that is not enough of a sound deadening, then come back here and we can work something out to quiet your cabin". No sales pitch, no switch up ... just an honest possible solution to my problem. With so many vendors always trying to pick some sale, it is really refreshing to have such an honest gentleman to deal with in the automotive aftermarket. Kudos Tommy. Thank you for your honesty. read more

Excellent install and great customer service. Went in this morning for a new alarm for daughter's first vehicle (2000 4Runner) that we picked up on Friday. It came with OEM keyless entry and an unknown aftermarket alarm that was giving us problems all weekend. Tom provided different options, went with a new Viper 3108. Install was approximately two (2) hours. read more

Beach Auto Sound - Two thumbs up!! - Car Stereo Installation Near Me - Huntington Beach, California

I like to do a bit of due diligence and research before investing when it comes to consumer electronics as well as other purchases. I have a 2018 Tesla model s p100d. I found out that that year they put in sound systems in all their cars. And I had the upgraded version. Through googling, I came across a guy named Scott who I thought was a car audio installer for consumers. Well, he's not your ordinary installer. His jobs are 50k to 250k custom epic systems for high-end clients who do audio competitions. Never knew there was such a thing. But he told me, there's only one place in Southern California that I would trust my car to get an audio upgrade. He gave me the number to Beach Audio, and told me to ask for Tom, the owner. Had a great conversation with Tom. First time on the phone. I think he's 45 years in business. A veteran with tremendous experience. But what's most important, the quality of the products, the quality of the service and installation, but also the Integrity. Tom and I talked about a guy, that he is familiar with, that I almost went with, but did not because I smelled something fishy. The guy I almost went with, only sold packages of audio upgrades, and never would give the name of the brand of the speakers or amplifiers that he would be using. If you have any brand vehicle, but especially a Tesla, which I never thought you could actually upgrade because it's a rolling computer, and I was fearful that I would have an issue with a car, or Tesla warranty etc. But I looked into that, if you upgrade your sound system, it has no effect on the warranty legally. Did my research there as well. If you talk to one of the Tesla robots, they will tell you different cuz they don't know anything. No offense to Tesla. They make a great product, but the workers are not all educated on the finer points of the automobile industry. I am since I've been driving for over 40 years, and been cars since I was 14. Tom is also well educated in this department as well. If you were looking for excellent service, quality products, and value pricing, look no further than Beach Auto Sound. Oh by the way, I drove an hour and a half from West LA to Huntington Beach because there was nothing on the west side that would even compare. It's worth the trip to meet. Tom and see the shop. If you're in and around the West LA area like me, ask Tom about mobile installation so you don't have to drive back and forth to Huntington Beach. read more

Great quality work, fair pricing, super friendly staff and tinted my new sedan quick. Very happy and highly recommend!

Tom was very informative and got me to vehicle quickly. I had found out you're better off buying equipment from them, competitive prices and they'll hook you up with what you'll need. At first my controls on my steering wheel were not working properly and Tom suggested it was more than likely my clockspring, I had it replaced at Habor Auto center, I highly recommend them too for Auto repairs, and yes it was the clockspring, everything work fine now. Long story short, Tom worked with my schedule and was very informative. Thank you. read more

Just wanted to give a shout out to Tom! I stopped in with a question, after i was referred by my mechanic. GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE! The Owner Tom was friendly and quick in getting my jeep lights looked at. He went to the back and got one of his workers Jamiee to look at my jeep and determined the issue within minutes. Jamie took my jeep and not even 20 minutes later came back out and fixed the issue. This is the 3rd time I've gone to them ( different services) and each time I leave satisfied. I highly recommend them. read more

I just needed a radio installed and done in an hour- no appointment- no problem. Going back for tint tomorrow.

Came here to get a dash cam installed and what a nightmare that was. Took my car a total of 6 times to this shop for the same dashcam that they could not get right. They didn't know how to connect all 3 cameras for some reason and I know nothing about this and had to show them how to connect all 3 cameras since they said I was missing a cord even though it was brand new. The rear camera was facing straight down at the ground after the 6th trip back to this place so they never even got it right I had to redo it my self at home. If you want horrible customer service and bad workers that have no clue what they are doing go here. Took my gfs car to another place and they did it first try perfectly with no issues and for much cheaper. read more

I bought a KENWOOD flat display unit, had it installed and over the next 2 days it started malfunctioning. Called em came back and they switched it out no questions. Another time I decided to install new headlights myself and couldn't get them to work. Came to Beach Auto and they fixed em quickly. Only cost me $25... turns out it was a blown fuse. Beach auto sound has done a couple of the family vehicles over the years. They always use high quality products and offer good value. Most importantly they stand behind their work and products like no other automotive shop. Seriously top notch service. I would always recommend them, they did a great job on my 94 land cruiser too doing a new touch screen and speaker system. read more

Made appointment through yelp, came the next day and they squeezed me in to their tight schedule. Got it all done in a just a few hours and I came in at about 1. The employee there helped me pick out what I needed based on what I listened to but didn't force me to buy a specific item. Pricing and labor is very fair considering how well they did the work and how fast they did it. Will be coming back if I need anything else. read more

Tom & his staff did an outstanding job on my 2024 Lexus RX timing the windows. Highly recommend them.

I was recommended here by a friend, I met with Alex and he was so helpful and very nice. I got there at 8am and got in line, mind you I am an hour early there was 5 people in front of me. We went over the different type of tints for my 2021 4 Runner. I went withe the ceramic tint. I already have factory tint in the back but wanted them darker, the front windows and the windsheld for UV protection. I picked my car up about 4:15-4:20pm. I made time today for this, so I am not rushing anywhere. It turned out beautiful. Thanks Alex! read more

I've used BAS a few times over the years and gotta say I'm never disappointed. Tom knows his stuff and helps when you're trying to decide between different items. I had a dashcam installed that I didn't buy there and Tom still showed me how to use it and was just as accommodating. Have had multiple sound systems installed as well over the years and can highly recommend them. If you want quality work done at a reasonable price the look no further, get to Beach Auto Sound. Came here on 4/7/21 to get our windows tinted on our 3014 Ford Edge. Our car is like family to us and we don't let anyone or just any shop work on her. After speaking to Alex, he informed us of the price, the warranty and the time needed to complete the job. When our vehicle was ready we headed down to pick her up. We were beyond happy with the professionalism of the window tint install!! The car looked great!! We are pleased!! They also do stereos, GPS and Dash Cams here. read more

We have been here twice. Once was a positive experience and the second was awful. My wife was getting a new stereo put in her car and I had mapped out with the employee exactly what needed to be done, got the quote for service, so she could just drop her car off. Then when it was just her, he told her all the reasons he couldn't do it, and told her it was going to be considerably more expensive than what he told me. She called me in tears, And when he saw me drive up, he came running outside, said he didn't realize she was my wife, apologized to me, not my wife, and then gave us the original quote and said the original price was fine. Needless to say, we left. I will never go to this place again or recommend them. Horrible example of someone trying to be sneaky and take advantage of a situation for financial gain. read more

My sound system stopped working in my camper van along with a few other items like backup camera and such. My van is a 4 WD off road Sportsmobile and has some fairly complicated electronics residing behind my dash, such as Switch for AirCompressor, Alarm shut off switch, backup camera switch, 4 wheel drive light and such. I have had the van over 10 years. And during that time have added new components as needed. Depending on what it was I would go to different businesses to have them installed. I think all these different people adding their parts finally caught up to me. Well I bought new Apple play from Beach Auto Sound and told Tom the issues. Once he removed the dash he showed me many connectors and wiring that had the potential to cause problems. He cutout and replaced and soldered things up the way they should be. I feel confident in the work that was done was done right. This is incredibly important to me as I take van to remote locations and would be in a world of hurt if I broke down. Conclusion is I will only take my Van to Beach Auto Sound for all my Sound, Alarm needs. read more

Beach Auto Sound, i've used them a few times throughout the last 20 years for window tinting, stereos/speakers, and alrams. I've always liked them, however I dont know exactly why. Tom, the head guy there it seems, has a very recognizable face which is good for them, and he's always been decent, but with my most recent run ins with them I'm seeing more now why I always thought this place was a bit off. Other than previous window tinting work, each alarm or stereo install has been met with at least one broken part in my car, usually some type of plastic clip to hold a panel or similar. I thought that was somewhat understandable given the nature of how vehicles are built. Well leading up to recently, Ive been a little more displeased with Beach Auto Sound. The last time I had a stereo and speakers installed was about 3 years ago. Not only was there at least one broken part, they even left a few tools in my vehicle, no biggie. Once the install was done and i was leaving, i decided to do a quick setup of my stereo so i could listen to my music. I was not sure on some of the equalizer settings and asked Tom about them, he gave me a roundabout crappy answer and wouldn't come out for 2 minutes to help me. He instead had someone else come out who knew nothing about how this worked at all. This was an interesting reaction from Tom as I had just spent a good bit of money for the equipment and install. Moving forward to the last 2 weeks, Im in the market for new speakers for a different vehicle, and may possibly buy more. When i went to the shop a few weeks ago, Tom was not in, so another person, Jaime, helped me out. Well, Jaime was rude, belittling and degrading. He talked to me as if I should have known all of these technical aspects that he was asking or telling me about. Fortunately for me, I stand up for myself, and one of my remarks to him were "well thats why you work here and I don't". i replied this way in response to how he was talking to me. Even one of the techs who came in and joined the conversation began talking to me in this manner, however the tech quickly changed his tune when he realized I wan't putting up with their crappy attitudes. Before we were done, I had agreed on an install with all products to be purchased at Beach Auto Sound totaling approximately 5K with install. Due to the length of time needed for the install I was unable to do this that day, therefore nothing has been purchased yet, which is good for me since I didn't feel right about this interaction since the second I walked in and Jaime opened his mouth. Their screw ups in the past even caused me to let Jaime know one of my concerns was things being broken in my car since this has happened quite a bit in the past. All in all, I can NOT recommend Beach Auto Sound anymore. I do not trust them and I'm very sick of their attitudes. Tom has always been decent up until purchase, or when just browsing the shop, but his actions 3 years ago were not up to par. On this visit, Jaime's attitude was enough to make me question this purchase from the beginning of our conversation. I guess this is what happens when you have never shopped around because the place you have always used you thought was good. Turns out not so much. read more

Called around to the many different stereo shops in HB and right away I knew Beach Auto Sound was the place I wanted to do business with. I called in and talked with a nice lady and then to Tom who I think is the owner. I needed a dash cam installed in my new GMC 2500 and also my Hellcat. After talking with Tom and explaining what I wanted he made a couple different suggestions, I did a little research online and I found that these guys really know what you're talking about. I drop my GMC off at 7:30 AM and I threw the key through their key drop, I received a phone call a couple hours later and the job was done. I went and picked up the truck and everything looked great, nothing was dirty broken or damaged and I was very happy with the installation. After a quick demo to how everything works I was on my way. So check it out guys I am in a very similar business and let's just say that I understand how this place operates. There is a reason why stereo shops come and go in my place like this has been around for 30+ years. If you need your stereo system in your car upgraded or if you want a nice dash cam like I got a highly recommend you give this place a shot, everyone seemed like they knew what they were doing and the owners not going anywhere so just in case there is a problem I think it's safe to say you're totally covered. I would like to give you one warning, be very careful when searching for this particular shop. There are some other stereo shops in the area with a similar name that I've only been around a couple years or let's just say they haven't been around as long is this place and in my opinion they're trying to ride the coattails of the shop that' leads thus local industry. When I accidentally called the other place they literally went out of their way to make it think like I called the right shop, one guy even acted like he remembered our conversation. It was just a simple miss dial on my behalf but I think it's safe to say with the names being so similar it's very easy to do. read more

I was happy to get my VW ID4 (my first electric car), but disappointed in the quality of the audio system. In doing my research on upgrades to the car I found that Beach Auto Sound was one of the very few Focal dealers qualified to upgrade the my sound system with a VW certified kit. Tom was so thoughtful when I called months before my new car arrived. He told me that he could provide any level of audio upgrade, but to come in once the car was delivered. When I arrived he showed me many upgrades that would be possible. I decided his first choice on the Focal kit was perfect. I sometimes drive my car now not just because I love the handling, but because it is the best sound system I have ever owned. I have to say that if you live anywhere from Santa Barbara to San Diego it is worth the day trip to get your sound system upgraded by Beach Auto Sound. I am referring everyone on the VW ID4 pre-booking FaceBook page to see Beach Auto Sound. I would give them ten stars if I could. Thank you Tom!! read more
