There's something extra special about returning to a restaurant that holds memories for you and realizing it still has that same charm. We started with the Blue Cord breast, a stuffed chicken breast filled with mushrooms and asadero cheese, wrapped in bacon and finished with a creamy cheese sauce. Rich, comforting, and definitely not shy on flavor -- exactly the kind of dish that makes you want to slow down and enjoy every bite. We also ordered the shredded beef flautas, made with lightly textured corn tortillas and topped with Mexican crema, fresh cheese, and crisp lettuce, all served over a beautiful pool of four-chile salsa. The combination of the crispy flautas, creamy toppings, and chile salsa was so good and had just the right amount of flavor and texture. But honestly, part of what makes La Antigua such a memorable experience is the atmosphere. They have live music, and the views overlooking the cathedral are absolutely beautiful. Sitting there with good food, music playing, and one of Guadalajara's iconic views right in front of you is such a quintessential El Centro experience.
