Amazing food! I love Indo-Chinese food and a family member recommended this restaurant for lunch…read more The staff is extremely friendly and the place has a great ambience. We ordered a bunch of appetizers and that gave us a variety of items to pick from. I don't like overly spicy food but found the dishes marked with two chilis reasonably spicy and very flavorful. Great lunch time experience!

TL;DR Delicious, and very accomodating!…read more I went for my work's Christmas do. Food was from a set menu and waiters gave us several carafes of water, which were constantly refilled. There were also jugs of coke and lemonade which they would walk around and pour for us. All this was free, but we had to pay for alcohol. A few tried to set individual tabs for themselves However, there were roughly 20 of us and 8 individuals wanting individual tabs. That would have been a headache for the staff, so we all ended up paying for each drink of our own as we ordered it (Seemed fair to me). Heads up if you don't drink: They do a big enough range of mocktails for them to be listed on a page! They sounded good and I want to try one next time. We only had a set menu but it was all delicious (And even the stuff I personally wasn't keen on was good quality)! There was a good range of vegetarian and meaty stuff and it was all surprisingly filling. Also, I got to try some new stuff. One of the colleagues I sat next to is pregnant. She gave the food a good go, but a lot of it was too spicy for her although she said how lovely it all was. The waiter asked if she wanted some milk or yoghurt, and brought out poppadoms and mixed-veg bhajis for her ( as well as a big bowl of yoghurt) and gave her ice cream instead of the dessert we were given. She even asked for his name and a business card so she could recommend the place to her friends and family. The service was very attentive and kind. I had a Kingfisher (£3-4)and a margarita (£7). Good value for booze, I think. All in all, I'd happily suggest this place for a group do! Here's the set menu we had (In no real order and possibly excluding stuff I forgot about): Starter: Poppdoms with mango chutney; soy sauce with garlic and ginger; minty yoghurty stuff and a spicy thing. Chicken tikka (Possibly my favourite thing) Strips of some chunky fibrous vegetable in a mildly spicy coating (I believe it was potato) Firm paneer (A bit like tofu) in a sticky sweet coating with peppers Little poppadoms with chickpeas, tiny sprinkles of what looked like noodles and yoghurt and minty-yoghurty stuff and sweet sauce of some kind. They were an odd mixture of sweet and spicy. I found those a challenge to my tastebuds but they were well-made and well-presented Lamb rolls Plain naan White rice Coronas and Buds that came from nowhere (I discovered I'm not keen on Bud!) Veg manchuria A chicken curry A curry in a spicy green sauce Limoncello shots with a lime in (Which I thought were tequila shots) n An Asian dessert with a thin, sweet yellow custard and little balls that had the texture of soggy sponge but might have been paneer. I personally didn't like that but it was something new Oh, and the interior is very pretty! Be aware that it can get quite noisy, however.

What a wonderful place! The food is impeccable and the service is excellent!…read moreI have been here several times since my grandmother moved to the area and she thoroughly enjoys going to Zorna's. I often visit on a Sunday when the buffet menu is being served. However, don't imagine a table covered in lukewarm food! The buffet commences with the Chef's special starter (non vegetarian), preceded by a stack of poppadoms with excellent chutneys and usual sauces; then you choose any main dish from the menu, a rice dish and a side order. ALL of the dishes are cooked to order, everything is cooked to perfection and anything you choose is sure to be a winner! The courses are very quick to arrive so you never have long to wait. The Sunday buffet is priced at a very reasonable £7.95 per adult and the portion sizes are sizeable! For children the buffet comes at a reduced price, and I'm sure with smaller portions. The waiting staff are very courteous and friendly and keen to be of assistance. Sadly, each time I have visited the restaurant has not been very busy, which is a shame for such an excellent restaurant. However, this does guarantee you a quiet and intimate meal. Zorna's also offer a takeaway service, which I would use if only I didn't live in Scotland! A must-visit! I am positive that I will return on my next trip to Purley!

Great place to relish Halwa poori and Karachi style breakfast…read more The owner here is a warm persona and greets with a smile Makes it a point to ask if the food tasted great Yes it delicious The staff are polite and dutiful too Breakfast time Poori is undoubtedly my favorite breakfast And u can see me gorging upon poori bhaji, poori chole and halwa any time of the day. Halwa Poori chole is a famous breakfast combo which is so filling and nothing can be packed with nutrients in the morning than this breakfast. Halwa Poori Chole combination is quite a popular one and is linked with a ritual in INDIA - Kanjak! Kanjak is celebrated either on the eighth or ninth day of Navratri Kanjak used to be, and to a certain extent still is, one of many favorite festivals. Kids wake up to the sweet smel of hot halwa and fluffy pooris along with dry masala chanaa made in many households Today - tried to explore yet another place in London - famous for its Karachi fare and they USP is Halwa poori chole. Decided to relish this sinful combo and without a doubt it is delicious. The best part about Halwa poori combo - Suji halwa is just done right not too sweet has a dash of ghee and then the chickpeas (kabuli chanaa) curry is mild on spice quo but is melt in mouth one. The aloo sabzi is an added plus. Halwa Poori House - London offers various delicacies like - Halwapoori combos, irani chai, Kunna paya, lamb nihari and Haleem. Will be back soon

The man who took our order was very accommodating. I had the vegetarian okra curry with rice. I love okra and this was fabulous! The restaurant itself is a bit unwelcoming to look at but the staff is sincere and the food is authentic. My only complaint would be that it is a bit pricey! Overall a nice meal.

Top burgers in Purley! I've been here a couple of times now and I've enjoyed my meal all the time!…read moreYou can eat in or take away, the packaging for the takeaway is very nice, the chips come in mini boxes and the burger is in a paper wrap. When you eat in your meal comes in metal dishes with logo under your burger and chips! What I love about this place is the menu is simple, the ingredients are not so simple but mainly you chose what kind of burger ie chicken, beef then you can stop there or add other ingredients and then you can get fries which are not like your normal fries as they are freshly made and taste amazing as there's different toppings, then to top it off you could have a milkshake or an alcoholic milkshake! There are much more items on the menu as they have a brunch menu and dessert! But if your getting a takeaway they are nice enough to let you sit down drink some cold water and enjoy freshly made popcorn! So the beef burger is my favourite as the buns are nice and soft, the burger is a good thick portion which is very juicy - I'm starting to think they must steam the burger as when you bite into it it is just clear meat juice! The sweet potatoe fries are the best and I like to top it all off with a Reece's peanut butter milkshake which is so yummy you can drink the whole thing too quickly but the best bits is the chocolate at the bottom which I grab a spoon and enjoy the scrapings at the bottom of my milkshake! The staff are really friendly and you can place orders at 11.30am every day!

Staff were a little overwhelmed today somehow, but that didn't detract from the experience. A couple did leave before they got served as they had other things to do, it's not a fast food joint! Their chilli jam is a great companion, just the right amount of chilli. The rosemary chips are perfect. I'll be back.

We ordered chicken and Lamb briyani via Deliveroo. It is not up to the usual standards…read more Meat and rice are not cooked well.

I really like this place. Their food is unique and not like any other fusion place I've been too…read more Probably because it combines both Indian and East-Asian food. At the same time they have a few other menu items which are completely their own creation. All of the entrees are pretty small and if you're really hungry, you'll run up a big fat bill in no time. For us Yanks, this is worse after the conversion of course. The best time to come here is A, when you're already about 25-50% full, or B, on someone else's dime. One of the chicken dishes there is really good- my family and I have dubbed it the atomic Chicken because it's served in a spicy bright green sauce that makes it look radioactive. We usually end up getting at least 2 or 3 orders of this. Their cashew chicken is also really good, but again small. There is almost never a wait here (maybe because of the $$$) which is cool. Sometimes the place is completely empty. The seating and tables are really comfortable, with lots of leg/elbow room. The attitude of the waiters is a bit indifferent/ timid. I don't understand why. They are hard to hear, don't speak much, and are very quick to agree with you as if trying to just get to the end of your interaction with them. There is no handicap access for the stairs. Overall, I like this place a lot and will definitely come back for the food. It's best to go in a group because then you can try a lot of different things.
