When we ended up in North East, Maryland, late on a Sunday evening, I wasn't exactly thrilled. Then we walked around the corner to The Nauti Goose, saw the outdoor deck, the sun going down, the big boats coming in, and suddenly... my frown got turned upside down. We were in Maryland, so I wanted crab. Unfortunately, being Sunday evening, they were out of most of the crab dishes that sounded really good. So, crab quesadilla it was. It came with a really good dipping sauce and was... goodish. There was definitely a LOT of cheese, and I would have liked to see more crab. But the food wasn't really the whole point of this visit. We sat on the deck, drank some beer, listened to music, watched the boats, and made some new friends. And sometimes, that's a pretty damn good Sunday night. read more

Stopped by here one weekend for dinner. It was an absolutely beautiful day. We got seated right away. The staff was attentive and friendly. I ordered the lemon crush and it was really good. Not too strong or too sweet. As an appetizer we had the Mac and cheese bites. We were really surprised how good they were. They were literally the star of the show! 10/10 would recommend them! I had the fish and chips and my boyfriend had the chicken fettuccini Alfredo. We both really enjoyed our meals and the ambience of this location. It was a good time. You can come by boat as well! Would have given the place goose eggs, but at least there are 2 stars for location, the dessert, and the service, which was fine. The food was barely eh. My wife had the "Cajun" Mahi sandwich,which had nothing Cajun about it. Very bland and dry, came on what looked like a hamburger bun with no dressing, no tomato, no lettuce, no nothing. The side of broccoli was okay. I had the single crab cake, which was ok but just lukewarm. The roasted potatoes were just okay. Dessert was the lava cake, which was good. Definitely cheaper bar food for fine dining prices, so generally a disappointment. read more

Nice and quiet during the week day - recommend this for lunch to sit outside and enjoy the view. I can't review the food since we only had drinks. We had Blackened Mahi Mahi, Boom Boom Shrimp and Crab Quesadia. It was great. As good as any other seafood establishment in Northeast or Chesapeake City. As pricey as all the other local restaurants too. Our server was wonderful. A very pleasant personality, bright and cheerful. Checked on us often. I had not been there in few years and After reading the awful reviews on Yelp I almost decided to eat elsewhere but then decided to stick with the original plan. So glad I stuck with the Goose. Some people just complain no matter how good their food and service is. They are just built that way. unpleasable! I highly recommend The Naughty Goose. We ate at this restaurant on June15th, and it turned into one of the worst dining experiences our family ever had. Four of us became extremely sick after eating here, with symptoms consistent with food poisoning that began shortly after our meal. The lness was so severe my son had to go to the hospital for treatment.It was frightening and stressful for our family that could have been avoided with proper food handling and safety practices. I made the resturant aware of what had, hoping they would show concern and take responsibility, but I was very disappointed with the manager Michele's responses. I asked to speak with the owner and she responded he had an emergency and wouldn't be available for a couple days. I'm Still waiting to hear from him. I am sharing this review to warn others and to encourage the resturant to take food safety seriously. No family should have to go through what we experienced after simply going out to eat. read more

We came on a Saturday night in February so unfortunately we didn't get to sit outside and enjoy the great view. Our waiter Drew was very attentive and did a great job. I thought the food was pretty mediocre. For apps our group ordered the mac and cheese bites, sirloin tips with horseradish sauce (advertised as spicy but was only mild at best), and the coconut shrimp tossed in the creamy sauce. It was all pretty average - nothing out of this world, although I appreciated they came out fairly quickly. I ordered the Chesapeake burger which came with a crab cake inside the burger - pretty unique as I don't think I've ever had a similar burger before. We loved the live band that was playing - great music and a fun singer/guitarist that really helped curate the vibe. Wish someone would've commented on how silly I was, wearing my "silly goose" shirt to Nauti Goose (joking). This place was just sad. There were flies everywhere. The staff was inattentive, at best. We didn't even get a refill on our water. The food? Tasteless. How do you make jerk chicken taste like nothing? It was like the chef didn't know spices exist. For the crab and shrimp scampi - it tasted like a hotpocket. If you want to pay too much for bad food, while being ignored by your waiter, then I'd recommend Nauti Goose. read more

What a HORRIBLE experience, service, and food. please do yourself a favor and avoid this place at all costs. This is the 3rd time we give this restaurant a chance in 2 years, and they keep messing up big time. No wonder they have such a low rating. I took my whole family to eat here, since we took our kids to the park, a 1yrl old, 3 year old and 10 year old kids. To being with, we were told there were no juice for the kids, no ice tea, no lemonade, no apple juice, no orange juice , even though they have a full bar and juice should be available for mix drinks. The appetizers came fast and good, but that was the only good thing. Our food took 40 minutes to come out, and we have to mention there were 5 tables and 3 servers. Our server made the excuse that it took too long because of the pizza we ordered, but our pizza was Luke warm when we tried it. I asked for hot peppers on the pizza and never got them but was charged for them, then asked the server for hot or Buffalo sauce when she dropped off the food, she said yes and completely ignored us, never brought the sauce, never checked on us, and I had to asked for the check because she was nowhere to be found, once she showed up with the check, I realized she over charge us, the kids fries that were supposed to be included with the kids meals, she charged them as 2 separate fries orders, and to add to the whole fiasco she dare to add a 20% gratuity. Our check of $96 came out to be $142 dollars, never got a refill on our drinks, ignored us the whole time, and gave us cold pizza. No wonder you guys have no customers. Our server name was Jody. After being seated, we were forgotten about. My wife finally went to go remind the staff that we had been seated for 30 and haven't even been offered water yet. After our order was taken, we waiting another 30 for our order which wasn't so bad but our server tried to give me a soup when I only ordered a burger. Came in here with a friend who said that this was a pretty popular local spot. The place is mostly empty, but that's okay since it's kinda late on a Sunday night. We get a table inside and peruse the menu; after regrettably passing on the delicious-sounding (and more $$$) entrees, we decided to split an appetizer order of crab dip to start. The lighter fare options were more moderately priced and you got pretty good bang for your buck. I got the Goose Burger medium rare, she got the fish tacos. The crab dip is phenomenal. It's cheesy, it's gooey, it's salty (LOVE), and it's perfectly balanced by the semi-blandness of the toasted flatbread with which it's served. It's a little hard to break into the dip with the flatbread as it's really crispy and breaks apart easily, but you can easily remedy that by using your fork. This is great mid-Atlantic bar food that you can split with friends on a boozy night out. I wasn't asked which cheese I'd like on my burger, but I ended up with pepper jack which is my favorite, so no complaints about that. The burger itself was cooked the way I like it--it was just a little boring and forgettable on its own. The chips were stale, so I didn't eat any of those. And as for the pickle... it was MIA. Sadness. The service was cordial and efficient; the server got the job done and was nice enough about it, but there was little more to it. The place itself has kind of a family dining vibe to it, despite having a sizable bar. Location is the only thing going for this place. If you want frozen apps and ok drinks with an awesome view, this is the place. If you have kids with you or are in any way in a time crunch or are hoping for fresh, quality food, this is NOT it. Went 10 minutes after opening today with my 8 year old and 3 year old and it took us 50 minutes to get our food. We were told to sit wherever but never got menus. They were out of lemonade and juice so kids only had the option for soda or water. The "crab jalapeno bites" are frozen cheese bites with tasteless, heatless jalapeno and no discernable crab in taste or appearance. The pizza my son ordered had half an inch of cheese on it, which could have been a selling point on a better crust, but there was a thin, goopy, soggy layer of dough underneath and it just fell apart. I had to ask for the toppings that were listed with my chicken sandwich and we never actually received our check. A different server had to come to our rescue when my three year old had had enough and graciously comped some of our check after I expressed my frustration with the speed of service and quality of food. It appeared that everyone was scrambling to get ready for service when we arrived twn minutes after opening and they should have been prepared before opening the doors. I live quite nearby this restaurant and only go every few years to give it another shot. Apparently there's good reason I spend my money in other local places. This ain't it. read more
