They have been on the journey with me and my dog who has severe allergies for the last 10 years. They do research, they read every label, they are a wealth of experience and information and always there to help and listen to your needs. They've special ordered things I could let get anywhere else through the supply chain issue of Covid. They've continually stayed open after hours so accommodate me rushing to get off work, knowing that they are the only ones that carry the food my dog can eat without getting sick. Stopped in while in town to see family last week. I wanted to get my Pomeranian puppy some treats. They happened to carry Orijen which is the brand of food I buy for her. I bought the freeze dried tundra. Which is the blend that has, venison, elk, qual, and steelhead in it. She really likes them, and I only give her one a day because I want to give them in moderation. The woman who works here was very helpful, and I would come back again if I am in the area. They have a lot of healthy products to chose from, and also really cute things. read more

Beware!! A 25 lb dog is considered an extra large dog for pricing. $80 for a bath only. No brushing or anything else. They don't brush dogs. They should tell customers that they bathe and blow dry dogs but do not brush them. It creates mats so you have to do all the brushing when you get the dog home. And I brush my dogs once a week! Also they say that they did things like trim nails but when you get your dog home you find out that they did none of those things. I have taken dogs there three times in case they just had a bad day and each time they said they brushed, etc. but they didn't and it's obvious they didn't. The last time my dogs came home in worse shape than when I took them in. Very sad. read more

This review is for both the actual pet store and the grooming salon inside of it. I just adore this place. This is by far the best pet store I have ever been to! The size is somewhat small but that does not effect the vast amount of supplies they have! They have great selections of dog foods with healthy options and they also have treats, toys and medicines. The staff certainly seem to love animals and enjoy their jobs as they are always very kind and helpful. As for Sunny Paws, the grooming salon, it is just wonderful! Alexis is my dog's normal groomer and she is very kind and treats my dog Piko like a prince. He always comes out of an appointment looking beautiful and Alexis helps me keep his hair long and tangle-free. All and all this place deserves more recognition and praise! read more

I love this shop, and the women who run it. I've been a customer there for the past six years, initially buying treats and food for my elderly dog who passed, and now for my rescue who is still with us. While I could say the usual things - great selection of food, treats and toys - what I want to point out is that this store made it through COVID-restricted times AND when our entire area lost power for a prolonged period of time due to an ice storm, still serving those of us who needed them, and they did it with grace. read more

Ive been going here since the previous owner and my Sheppy has gone through 6 different bath techs or groomers. they recently seem to be struggling to keep staff. the customer service has really gone down as well, in the beginning of the rapid transitions it was around COVID and we all were a lot more patient with businesses trying to stay open however it has definitely become a pattern. the store side of the store has become very pushy and literally shoved items in my face to purchase. I went in last week and found out that my dog's favorite bathing tech had left and they didn't have kind words to say about why. i've noticed that they seem to struggle to retain quality staff who work well with the dogs and after the way they responded when I asked where she had gone tells me exactly why! I was so happy to find out that our previous groomer who we really loved before moving to the new bather has moved to Wilco, so if you're looking for Alexis she is at Wilco Salem! Spreading the word Because I know a lot of us were looking for her. overall extremely unprofessional and childish behavior, bad mouthing an employee who was the only one out of all the transitions to do a good job with my dog I will not be going back. read more

Just picked up my cat, Barley from his first grooming appointment today. I was so worried because of his shy personality and told the groomer about my fears. She was so nice and took all my concerns to heart. When I picked him up he looked AMAZING, he was calm and happy and even had a blue bandana! She was also able to recommend a tool to use for his long fur that I was to easily buy right there at Nature's Pet. Great service, great care, I highly recommend them for your pet's needs. read more

We love Nature's pet in Salem! They have great treats for our dog Max, and Kalani does an exceptional job as his groomer. She does such a great job, in fact, that she is now his exclusive groomer and Max just loves her. Max is a VERY HAIRY 90lb German Shepherd mix and bathing and brushing him is a very physical job. We always bring Max in looking like a hot mess having a bad hair day and he comes out looking like a completely different dog and smelling great. Max is a rescue that is traumatized by kennels, and they go out of their way to be sure that Max is never placed in a kennel. They are the best!! read more

Oh my gosh!!!! My Pomeranian looked like a homeless old man unfortunately due to a rough move up here from southern Nevada. They had him looking soooo good and beautiful afterwards. I think this might be the best groomer I've taken him to. They listened to my requests and he's fluffy and happier now. My appointment was at 9:30 and they had him done by 11. I have been taking my Maltipoo to Sunny Paws for about 2 years. I had a problem with them shaving her down and spoke with the manager, Alexis. She was rude and defensive. On September 4, 2020, I took my dog to be groomed and noticed her face cut was very uneven but since it was so short I didn't think it was too bad. Now, three weeks later it was very noticeable so I called to see if this was my normal groomer. No, Liz was the person who did a terrible job. When I spoke to Alexis, she called me a problem and said I should take my business elsewhere. Someone in management position should have better customer service skills. Maybe "bring Cocoa in and we'll take a look". When I asked where the groomer was who had done Cocoa many times before, she said many groomers had come and gone due to Covid. My guess is they couldn't deal with such a poor manager. Just to be clear, the retail part of Nature's Pet is very nice. My issue is with Sunny Paws Grooming. read more

Not super delighted. Took my standard poodle. He was super grown out but not in terrible shape. I asked for a short cut and to leave the tail and ears. Returned to a naked boy sans tail. She said it couldn't be saved but I think she was upset that he was so long and it was going to be more work. I don't mind paying extra. It's poodle life. His feet were all red then next day from the clippers. I clip him( not a pro here) and don't cut/burn him THAT much. Can't say I'll be returning.:( read more

Went the other day for grooming. The blonde girl and the guy up front were wonderful, very friendly, and helped set up my appointment. When I came for the appointment however they were obviously overbooked in the grooming department. Mell groomed my dog and she left wet and the haircut was not finished. Buying dog food here you will feel certain you are buying a quality product because they only carry the best. They also love to give out free samples of products before you commit to buying. Just recently I attended one of their classes. It was everything I wanted; informational yet relaxed and laidback. I loved meeting the owner and seeing employees join the class. Just discovered this place and I love it not to mention their prices are amazing.

I had an appointment scheduled here. I love the shop and the reviews look good. However my appointment was cancelled 30 minutes before due to an emergency. These things happen. I was okay with that. I was asked to call back the next day and reschedule. When I called back to reschedule the next day, they didn't seem to be worried about being accommodating for cancelling the previous days appointment at the last minute. They wanted me to wait over a week for a rescheduled appointment with no further explanation. I found that unacceptable. However, the owner of Nature's Pet did call me to apologize later and I appreciate her follow up. I would be willing to try them at another time because I do believe they are a great local business and the owner does care about keeping customer's happy. read more
