Made an appointment for 6:30 on a Saturday night. I called and asked if I can come earlier...they said 5:30. So I rushed there and they told me I have to wait until 6:15 cause a customer changed their mind about a design. Okay, no problem. I walk around Main Street and get a call saying that I need to come now cause Michelle (the girl I made the appointment with) has a customer coming at 6:30. I honestly hate feeling rushed but knew that my manicure would take forever since I was getting a different color gel design on each finger. So, I went in anyway and showed Michelle all the designs I was interested in. I kept trying to explain how I wanted it, but because of the language barrier, she kept getting fed up with my demands, so I just kept my mouth shut. Long story short, I didn't like how my nails looked...or her attitude, or how she was obviously rushing me out, but for $35...it was just alright. Not impressed!! Like some people have said before, you have to walk up a narrow flight of stairs to get to this salon. The owner was very nice, she walked around and made sure everything was ok. The place is kind of messy, the nail polish was everywhere. A part of me wanted to leave but I was here already. Might as well try it. In addition, some of their towels looked old and dirty. I wonder if they wash them or not. Aimee did my pedicure, she tried really hard to make my pedicure perfect. She took a long time to paint the design I wanted. I give her credit for that because she did a good job on the design for my toes. But on the other hand, she didnt really scrub my feet, she kind of scrub it quickly and gave me a little leg massage. May did my nails, she was a little strange, she kept saying I want to make your nails to look beautiful but she did a sloppy job on my nails. I notice that there was leftover nail polish that was left on my skin, she didnt use the nail polish remover to remove the extra nail polish. I felt like the whole time she was rushing to get it done. Even though she kept saying I am going to make it beautiful, it was nice but a little sloppy. In addition, when it was time to pay, May said it was $52 at first, then $54, Aime who did my pedicure insisted it was $50 but May kept saying something else. I felt like May was trying to charge me more. At the end I got a receipt saying it was $51. I wanted to dry my nails and toes for a while before doing my waxing. But May insisted that I do it now because she had another customer coming soon. So I went with May to get my eyebrows waxed, she put hot wax on my eyebrows. It hurt so much!! She did apologize, I wish she didnt rush because it really hurt. After she was done with my waxing, she was like you came in looking ugly now you look beautiful. I was a little offended that she said that. In addition, she put tons of oil on my face. When I arrived home, I noticed the area she waxed puffed up a bit and was red. I had to put a ice pack on it to help it go down because I had to attend a wedding in a few hours. I wasnt too happy with May. I was tempted buy the cheap combo price for a mani-pedi. I was definitely in for a surprise. First off, this place is unsanitary. Walls and floors are sooty and I feel that a lot of their chairs, tables, and equipments need to be replaced. There was also old faded print flyers taped along the wall. It felt like Vietnam, but it's Flushing. Also, random TVs are hooked up together with a lot of dangerous wires. But maybe the service is impeccable, maybe I shouldn't walk out yet. Well, I didn't feel very reassured when I soaked my feet, but at least my beautician is certified and she seemed nice. Coats were randomly placed and the tables were stained with polish. While doing my manicure, she asked if I would like to do a facial as well. No thank you. Then she told me that she'll be collecting my money before she put on my polish. It was a French mani-pedi, and she didn't really do a good job drawing that white line. I came in for a mani-pedi ($18). As per other yelpers, this place seriously needs a facelift. Four of us came in for the pedicure, and we ended up taking over all the pedicure machines. 3 out of the 4 machines did not have a functioning back massage. None of them were bubbling like a jacuzzi, even though the machines had the jets. So it pretty much became a glorified foot soak except that your pedis are done by students as they seemed unsure of how to proceed. For the manicure, it's pretty straightforward. You tell them your shape. They do it. You chat for a bit. You're done. The techs were pretty friendly and patient. But I would only recommend if you NEED to get a mani-pedi in the area. We had a bit of a language barrier but she consistently asked if everything was okay and to my liking. Not too many nail technicians can pull off neat french lines but Ami is def one of the few. However I am taking off two stars for two reasons: 1. The place is very run down. If work quality triumphs over safety & comfort, this is your place. I would return but only with my own set of tools and to avoid the communal set that does not seem sanitized. I don't need a fake waterfall or soft lighting but cleanliness is a must. 2. I called beforehand to inquire about prices. They assured me it was $20 for a gel french manicure set. The pedi was good just one thing thru me off was that the instruments were in a dirty container and old. The woman who did mine didn't speak much English so I was just on my phone. Service: Gel Mani and French pedicure Pro's: Jesse was the woman that worked with me. She's very quick but thorough with her work. She also included my opinion and requests in every step from the color to the shape to the design and placements of the decorations. I really appreciate it wen I go to a salon, whether it be for hair or nails or waxing, and they include me in the services I'm paying for. Also, I walked in not too sure if I wanted a french gel mani or if i wanted something a lot flashier like french gel with decorations etc. My bf and I both like simple/clean looks but it was so hard to resist being tempted by the other pictures/experiences i saw on yelp and in her store. Plus i was getting my nails done for an anniversary vacation so i wanted to be dolled up... Anywhoooo, so I showed her a few pictures from yelp and then I showed her some pictures of other customers' nails on her wall and gave her an idea of what i liked/wanted and she delivered. She gave me glittery tips with decorations she picked out for me, with me, and positioned them for me. I wasn't happy at first b/c the glitter seemed so overwhelming and very gaudy but as she shaped the nail and cleaned up the sides the pattern of the glitter was just so cute and clean i requested nail ornaments as well. I was very impressed with how each speck of glitter was placed in such a nice purposeful pattern... and the nail decors were my cherries on top of it all~ They were also placed so neatly and purposefully. Con's: All in all, as much as I am in love with the final product tho, I can't really give them five stars b/c first off they aren't very clean... The tables were dirty and the equipment didn't seem to be sterilized as often as they should be. Cuticle cutters with nail polish on them and toothpick type of wooden sticks also with nail polish on them were sprawled on either sides of the tables. The brushes as well which she used for applying the gel weren't well kept either. After she finished applying gel to my nails she just wiped it between two papers and put it back in her drawer... and when she finished filing my nails she didn't even wipe the table down with any cleaning agents... she just wiped with a small dry piece of papertowel. I was the only customer in the store so it doesn't take much to pick up a clorox wipe or even windex or SOMETHING to wipe the table down of my ground up nails... I don't know... It didn't feel good to see... Another con they have is that it was very pricy... Not sure wat other salons are charging for this service but it was $63 for just my gel nails today with the decorations.. maybe i'm just behind in this all but i feel like this is a bit too much to pay for glitter, gel, and three tiny nail ornaments?... i just sucked it up and paid it cuz she really took a lot of care and attention to all the details in doing my nails and gave me service with a smile which is SOO rare to find these days ... Conclusion: Despite the uncleanliness and the prices, I LOVE MY NAILS~ probably will go again next year to prep up for my honey and i's next anniversary vacation unless i can find another location with better prices and better hygienic practices that can provide the same quality end product~ read more

I came here because my mom raves about her esthetician, Helen. I usually get my facials at Sai Kay. My face is usually red and blotchy and scary looking post-facial from the extractions. But after my 1.5 hour facial with Helen yesterday, this was not the case! I drifted to sleep numerous times during the facial, even during extractions! Helen showed me the extractions, which was gross but I guess she wanted me to see though she was gentle, she was also effective! While the mask is on, your esthetician will give you an arms, hands and shoulder massage, aahhh so relaxing. You'll leave feeling pampered and with glowing skin. Definitely will be back! I've been coming here for facials for about half a year now. No longer in town, but when I am, I always try to make an appointment with Wendy. I highly highly recommend her! (I've had a facial done by someone else one day when I walked in without making an appointment, and it was not so good.) The setting is not particularly impressive, but what do you expect. They've been around for years, and I rather get a good facial than be in a fancy building. They make up for it in the products they use and the quality of the facial. I'm not sure how Wendy does it but the extractions aren't that painful. And in 1.5 hours, between the steaming, extractions, mask, purifying process, and some other steps I can't remember, I left feeling refreshed with my face feeling super soft and much cleaner. I don't have the best skin, and the facial definitely makes a difference. (Wendy also massages your hands, arms, and shoulders at the end which is super nice. Except then I know it's the end :( ) If you're looking for a hotel spa experience, this is not for you. I happened to be in Flushing and needed a manicure/pedicure and since I did not have time to get to my favorite nail salon in Bayside before it closes, I decided to give Nature's Beauty Salon a shot. I was the last customer there that night. The service was great. I have no complaints about my manicure and pedicure. If I was just rating this place for its manicure and pedicure, I would just give them three stars because it was fine and it was nothing special. I would still choose to have my nails done at my favorite nail salon, Park Nail in Bayside. But I decided to give them four stars because I love getting my eyebrows waxed here. They do a really good job and it only costs six dollars! I have gone here for my eyebrows to be waxed for about five times. Every time I went, I was satisfied with the results. This place also provides hairstyling services and facials and massages and much more. Please check out their website for a list of their services and costs. The boss told me that my first facial is fifty percent off which will cost only 20 dollars and it takes about an hour. They use DeCleor facial products during the facial. So I waited a WHOLE week to write my review. First of all I had my nails done on Wednesday 12/13 today is 12/21 and I have 6 cracked nails down the middle and the edges lifting! Mind you my manual labor is as basic as it gets! So the first day having them done the girl filed my nail down so low she cut into my finger. Worst way to spend $40.00. why can't anyone do nail art? it's called design at this place. i'll have to admit, this place was better than all the other nail places i've tried but they still couldn't do it. so it's $2 per nail for a design. $7 for a manicure. i only got 8 fingers designed but was still charged $20. the girl in charge was ripping me off but i just paid it anyway because if they can do the design, price ain't no matter................... EXCEPT THEY DIDNT DO IT RIGHT. you bring in a picture, they try to copy it, but it's not quite the same. place is a little worn down but doesn't look dirty. i think if i were to get just a regular manicure, this place would be great. nail designs? maybe i should choose an easier design. i didn't know the chanel logo (2 c's) was so difficult to draw. ridic. OH. and if they fk it up, they won't RE-DO the nail for you. they just paint over it. if they mess up a part of your nail, they also just wipe a portion of the nail and re-paint. it doesn't make sense why you wouldn't just erase the whole nail. tsk. read more

Less than a star!! Terrible experience/place. I purchased last year a facial and a full body massage. This year my friend came to do my facial and months later I went for the massage (that I already had paid 50$)!! Was so excited and ready for it...so the lady that works there apparently sign my friend's card saying that she had done both facial and massage (not true) and when I went all the way from Manhattan they couldn't prove who was telling the truth because their appointments and notes were all mixed up. This never happened to me before. A mistake that the employee makes and THE COSTUMER has to pay for it??? After an hour of trying to get a solution they weren't even bothered with it and they didn't even make the minimum effort to leave a costumer happy. That's why I came to leave this review which I normally never do. The only thing they care about is money/tip/fee you'll hear them saying at least 10 times that the tip is not included.
