On a project of this scale, finding a contractor you can genuinely trust to deliver top-tier build quality without cutting corners is rare, but Edgar and his team delivered on every front. They managed to execute the job efficiently and move fast without ever making the work feel rushed. Edgar approaches every aspect of the build with a true "measure twice, cut once" mentality, ensuring every detail was carefully thought out well before the concrete was poured. What truly sets Edgar apart from other contractors is his transparency and client-first mindset. Rather than making unilateral calls or pushing options that benefit his own bottom line, he presented every decision with clear options and thoughtful pros and cons. He never nickel-and-dimed small adjustments or weaponized formal change orders just to inflate the bill. Additionally, his crew was exceptionally professional, courteous, and respectful. As a landlord managing a property with tenants on-site, this was invaluable. While many contractors disregard tenants because they aren't the paying client, Edgar's crew treated everyone on the property with complete respect and care. Platinum Paving offers remarkably competitive pricing, but more importantly, the value and quality of their craftsmanship far exceed the rate they charge. If you have a large-scale project, especially on a rental or multi-unit property, do yourself a favor and get a quote from Platinum Paving before making a final decision. I highly recommend them!

This was a big investment for us, and he took the time to answer questions, work within our budget, offer alternatives, and give thoughtful recommendations when we were unsure about certain decisions. His communication and customer service were excellent from start to finish. His crew was also wonderful to work with, respectful, hardworking, professional, and genuinely nice people. The quality of his workmanship was excellent, and he paid close attention to detail throughout the entire project. What really impressed me was his commitment to customer service. As an added bonus, he even installed my Ring security camera at no additional charge. It's rare to find a contractor who goes above and beyond like that. Jonathan and team completely transformed our backyard in under a month. They installed a new lawn, TimberTech deck, native plants, irrigation and drainage, lighting, and tied our existing front-yard irrigation into the new system. The design process was easy and affordable, and Jonathan was on site every day. He was communicative, thoughtful, and paid attention to the little details throughout the project. The whole crew was great to have around and kept everything clean at the end of each day. They even did a thorough final cleanup of the windows and doors around the yard. What we appreciated most was that their care didn't stop once the project was finished. They came back to fix a faulty sprinkler head and later trenched along the grass by the deck when we realized skunks were trying to get underneath. We love how the backyard turned out and how much more we actually use the space now. We'd absolutely recommend Herencia and happily work with Jonathan and team again.

What stood out most was his communication and transparency. He provided daily updates, either by text or in person, walking me through the progress and explaining what was coming next, which gave me a lot of confidence throughout the project. The finished project exceeded our expectations, and we couldn't be happier with the results. The entire project took about nine months, with roughly half that time spent navigating Los Angeles County's permitting and approval process. Picture Build's permit coordinator did an excellent job keeping everything moving and minimizing delays. The demolition phase was exceptional. Luis and his crew removed our old pool in a neighborhood where heavy equipment wasn't an option, so most of the work had to be done by hand. Their skill, professionalism, and attention to detail were impressive. Once demolition was complete, a talented team of craftsmen brought our vision to life. They poured new concrete, built a beautiful stacked-stone retaining wall, and installed stunning travertine pavers throughout the patio. The quality of their workmanship is outstanding. Our project manager, Jorge, kept both the demolition and construction phases running smoothly. Like any major project, we encountered a few minor challenges, but every issue was resolved quickly and professionally by Jorge or John Durso, the company's general manager. Special thanks as well to Max, our electrician, and Brian, the quality control supervisor and all-around problem solver, for their dedication and attention to detail. The final transformation is incredible. What was once an aging pool is now a beautiful, inviting outdoor living space where our family loves spending time together. Our project consisted of pouring 2 concrete slabs (1 along the side of the house and a second in the backyard), planting a boarder trim, and installing sprinkler systems in our back and front yard. Joel and crew completed all parts of this project with attention to detail and communicated effectively throughout. First and foremost, I have to give a huge shout out to the team lead managing the concrete part of our project. His attention to detail in recommending ideal drain setups in the sections where water had pooled in the past are exactly why we went Joel - we want to do things right the first time. After chatting with Joel, we installed the recommended drains, preventing a potentially expensive fix down the road. The rest of the project was completed with professionalism and Joel was great in communicating and working with our needs. Our one constructive feedback is that we did not receive a mock-up of the project before work was underway. We had a few last minute changes (the width of the trim around the backyard and the size of the mulch area in the front yard), but Joel & team communicated effectively and worked with us to make sure our needs were taken care of. All in all, we are so happy with our completed project. For years, our outside drains were clogged, and I found myself setting up pumps during the storms to get the pools of water away from our home. Every year, I would tell myself that I would get the drains cleared. Before the rains came this past winter, I hired a company to hydro jet the pipes. They tried to clear the drains, but because they were so clogged, their equipment failed. Again, I was setting up the pumps during the rain storm. So, I researched and found Joel and Sons. I met Joel and he examined our front/back yards. He gave an excellent and fair estimate that would fix the drainage problems. Throughought the entire project, Joel sent videos of the work being performed. He and the crew went above and beyond to make sure we wouldn't have any future issues. I am so impressed by Joel and Sons, and I will call them again for future projects. More importantly, I will make referrals to my family and friends.
