Francisco answered the first call I made to request a quote. I was told to send photos of the trees I wanted trimmed, which I did promptly. He told me I would receive a call right back when he received the photos and provide a quote. He never called back. I messaged him the following day asking if he was still interested and he promptly called me, giving me a quote. He offered two different times he would be available for my work and our appointment was scheduled. The day of our appointment, Francisco was a No-Call/No-Show. I messaged him and asked if he was on his way, and according to his Read Receipts he read the message and ignored it. I messaged him again and he ignored it. I called his phone and he sent it to voicemail. All this to say, Francisco wasted my time. I understand he may have a lot of other work that takes a lot of his time, but so do I and I don't have time to waste for someone who won't even give me the courtesy of a phone call to explain why they may be late to a job. I had a weird request and they were able to handle it without any issues. I wanted paperwork documenting the type of trees in my yard so I could protect them and possibly attach a monetary value to them for a pending lawsuit (neighbor keeps trespassing and damaging my trees). They were able to identify the types of trees I had, the health and secure location of them, and provide me with the documentation needed to protect my yard. The tech informed me that he usually does reports stating when a tree is diseased and needs to be removed so it was nice & different doing a report for healthy trees. I would recommend D and N for removing any large tree. They removed a giant stone pine that was growing too close to the house. The workers worked very hard and got it done in two days. Francisco made a "table and chairs" arrangement with the giant stump that we really like.(see pictures) There were some communication problems with Francisco, which is why I am giving 4 and not 5 stars. Also, they overtrimmed some trees and took down a fence which they didn't put back up. But the price for removal of the giant tree was extremely fair. read more

I needed to have my flower bed (3'x55') stripped of weeds, leveled, add weed barrier, mulch, and add a couple new trees. I contacted Francisco and he got in touch with me right away. Did an excellent job topping my 10 Italian cypress in the front yard and a great job topping two very tall and large eucalyptus trees and pruning back a lemon tree that had gotten a little too thick. They removed all limbs and cuttings raked up all the fallen eucalyptus branches and deposited the mulch along the tree line to help keep the weeds at bay. I'm something of a tree enthusiast myself (and perhaps a bit of a perfectionist). I know a thing or two about trees, and that's what I like about D&N Tree Care. They also are very well-informed about trees. When Francisco, the owner, first came to give me an estimate three years ago, I was impressed with the way he knew the names of all my trees: Carrotwood, Podocarpus, African Sumac, etc. Then once he and his crew started trimming the trees, I was impressed with the way they took the trimming of the trees very seriously. Unlike other companies that I had hired in the past that tended to rush through the job, often resulting in lopsided or otherwise unattractive trees, Francisco and his team were very concerned with making sure each tree looked "balanced" and aesthetically pleasing. Rather than just chopping branches gratuitously like the other companies did, D&N Tree Care operated more like sculptors, cutting the branches that would protect the tree from the wind while, at the same time, preserving and enhancing the tree's beauty. This is how the team (which included Jairo, Jose, and Pedro) approached the job yesterday as well. Needless to say, I'm very pleased with their work once again. We hired D&N to remove some trees on our property. They did a really good job, so we requested that they give us a quote on additional work on our yard. We heard back once that they were really swamped and that they'd get back to us. We never heard from them again, even though we inquired a few times when they'd be getting back to us.
