There's plenty to do, from arcade games to ice skating, and if you're looking to burn a couple of hours, you should give this place a try. There are also spots on both the first and second floors where you can grab a bite to eat or have a drink. My only complaint is that the staff in the arcade area can be a bit meat times, but other than that, no complaints. If you haven't already, I'd recommend checking it out next time you're in the area.

Hot as hell during summer and leaky ceilings during rain, no thanks. I'd rather go to a clean planet fitness.

There is literally a class for everyone! There is cardio equipment, a large weight room, many racquetball courts, a pool, indoor track, and basketball courts. They also have a smoothie bar / beverage station. I wish I lived closer, but because they are so awesome, it is not going to deter me getting a membership. They also offer swim lessons for all levels at discounted member rates. The class I attended today was taught by Corey. She was great, enthusiastic, and the class was perfect for me!!! In cycle, you adjust the tension to your fitness level. The instructor will encourage you to increase your resistance also. It will keep you from slacking! I strongly urge everyone to give this place a shot. It is so fun and I can't wait to start spending my boring winter evenings there! They also have a sauna and whirlpool, I have not seen/used these yet, so I can't comment. I read one review that said it "smells upstairs" but I did not experience that. Mary, at the front desk was so friendly and accommodating, I was thrilled she showed me around. Another bonus is free use of locks! You just check your keys in and they give you a lock to use. The womens locker room is newly renovated, and they also offer towel service. I'm still giving them 5 stars, though, as other yelpers have discussed, the cardio room/equipment could use some updates. However, the machines work and I haven't noticed anyone waiting around for anything. Besides, I go there for the classes and will be using the pool, and tend not to spend a lot of time in the cardio area. They offer free childcare and tons of other programs/leagues. They even offer golf swing lessons, and massage therapy!!! I think they have done significant updates since other people have reviewed this place, so if you're thinking of checking it out, do it. This gym is more interested in selling classes in addition to the membership. You don't have to…read morejoin the classes, but the problem is when the classes take up all the usable space and members are left with little to none. For example, youth swim lessons and water aerobics take up the entire pool area on Saturdays, making it impossible if you would like to swim laps. "Alpha" fitness classes have two areas that take up a significant portion of the upstairs gym, and they run classes constantly. On top of all this, the equipment that is left for members to use (i.e. benches and machines) are old and falling apart. I personally had a pin slip from an adjustable bench when I had it set to incline for bench press. I fell back with it and chipped my tooth. For the money you pay and for the money they add for extra classes and "events", they should really have better stuff for the general membership. It presents as though little regard is given to the overall members.

The second time I was in and out pretty quickly for a yoga class and ordered some dinner to go from the cafe. Aside from some construction happening in the parking lot, and the food selection not being as amazing as I was hoping, my experience was super positive. I see they offer tons of classes as well as pickleball and the facility is huge with pretty much any kind of workout equipment you could possibly want. If I lived in the area, I'd likely want to be a member here, but since I don't, I'll settle for being a guest when I visit. Thanks Life Time!

Life Time Fitness is HUGE and I mean they literally have whatever you desire (Fleur-de-Lis for all of you L.A. Confidential lovers). Located in a very strategic and safe location, near a major intersection and the freeway, traffic and parking will never be an issue. But if you have to park far away, isn't that part of the workout!? Anyways I find the facility to be very clean, friendly and safe environment without to many "weirdo's" (take that how you want). First off, the showers are plentiful and well stocked with towels and they have a nice pathway to the indoor pool. I've never had to wait on a shower, typically between 5-7am. As for swimming laps in the winter, one might need to tailer their swim routine as people like me who can swim roughly 100 laps and then there's the elderly swim classes. The point is there are limitations. When spring-fall happens it's a bit easier b/c the outdoor pool offers more lanes. Next, I've never eaten at the café so I can't speak on prices, options or anything. As far as BB courts I workout really early in the morning so I can usually shoot alone but afternoons, you'll be waiting to get on the floor. I've never been to a class for things like aerobics, yoga or anything but I have had a trainer. I honestly think I was bamboozled a bit. In my ignorance I was expecting 3 or 4 sessions a week, a meal plan and several different workout options based on my desired goals. What I got was a body fat measurement via a tape measure and scale along with a musclebound dude to spot me for 3 months. No meal plan, no spreadsheet with workouts that fit me. I mean he fulfilled the spirit of the contract besides not giving me a meal plan other than "eat some berries and tuna", but not what we initially discussed. Now, I will say the greatest thing I learned was foam rolling my muscles. I will admit, I wrestled in high school and college and I've always been fit therefore I know how to workout and diet. So for many others, they may need a little more education so be sure to emphasize that in the contract. As for workout equipment, they have plenty of stair masters, nautilus machines, free weights, treadmills and so forth to accommodate a lot of people. I think out of my 4 years there I only had an issue with someone reading a newspaper on a butterfly machine and I was doing cardio line training so I didn't want my heart rate to slow down while he was reading. Other than that, it's been very good. Oh, I will mention one time I was on the treadmill and a certain Albert Pujols was on the machine next to me. He had his cap on, his gold chain was bigger than my arm, and hit leg was as big as my torso. He saw me catching a glimpse and we had a small conversation and I mentioned I didn't want to bug him. He laughed and said "I approached you, so we're good!" Class act even though I'm a Cleveland fan! In summary, I never used all the amenities offered but there are a lot. I only wanted to reference what I've taken advantage of at Life Time. I was happy with my stay there and encourage anyone who wants to improve their health to drop on by and get a free trial membership. Two thumbs up!

Well now 2/4 are broken and it's nearly impossible to get a turn at all during the evenings. It's really disappointing because that is the main machine that I use, as do a lot of other people. I would love to see these be fixed at some point and not just left untouched. It's unfortunate you have to wait sometimes hours for these machines and sometimes don't even get the chance to use it at all:(

They could be cleaner, but they're not gross by any means. I especially like the fact that free WiFi is available. Fields 5-12 could use some improvement. There is a pretty significant lip around the edge of the infields. That makes it tricky for outfielders to handle ground balls sometimes. Nice place overall.

The Blue Valley Recreation Complex is, in my opinion, one of the best softball/baseball complexes…read morein southern Kansas City. All of the fields are in great condition and they are easily accessible. The main walk in offers a view of some of the fields and the main clubhouse. The main clubhouse offers the standard concession stand, while boasting a 21 and older bar on the second floor. If you continue through the park, you will walk past the batting cages and a children's playground to keep the rug rats busy during your competitive game of corporate slow-pitch. At the end of the complex you come to another concession stand that sells food, drinks and beer, and has male and female bathrooms. The location is a little on the southern side, but it is worth the drive to enjoy a game of softball or baseball at clean and well kept complex.
