Maple Bar Rating 8.3/10 I do love me a good maple bar-it's my weakness-it's actually the only donut I will eat-if a boss or a co-worker brings in a box of donuts to work and someone beat me to the maple bar that day-guess what?...No donut for me that day.That being said,when I see a donut shop and I have some free time,I will make a quick stop-That happened today when I was out running errands and I saw this donut shop in Natomas was still open. I walked in and saw so many donuts on display but eventually locked in on my maple bar-the employee took a few minutes to come up front,which as a Yelper I didn't mind as it gave me time to snap a few pics of their offerings.Once she took my order of 2 maple bars,she charged me $5.50 for 2 maple bars,which's seems pricey but oh well-in the past I've enjoyed the maple bars here-so whatever. Like I mentioned I do like the maple bars here,they are so light and not overly greasy-they are sweet but they are supposed to be,they are a maple bars-I guess what I like about the maple bars here is I don't feel like crud after eating them here like I do at some other shops,they are delicious,light and sweet-always hit the spot-though a bit pricey. In closing-if u ever find yourself in Natomas and want to have a maple bar or whatever other type of donut that floats your boat that day-I'd recommend stopping here-they are pretty good. PS-I noticed the sign no longer says Natomas Donuts-it now says PGA Donuts-so not 100% sure what's happening at this location-but the maple bars recipe has stayed the same. read more

I last minute decided to pick up donuts here instead of going to another business because of their hours. Luckily, it was on the way to work and it wasn't too crowded. I ordered two dozen and that was $50. Its been a while since I've purchased those many donuts, so not sure if that seems pricey. But I did like the variety of donuts they offered. I brought my granddaughter here last night. I was off work at midnight and it was so nice to be able to see my granddaughter after she had school all week and I worked all week. There has not been a 24 hour donut place since Yum Yum donuts and this being here in NATOMAS is so nice. Although it was late, there was a good selection and when I went home, my donut was delicious and my husband ate the croissant and he said it was so good.. you'll be able to tell by the photos that I upload they are huge and such a good price Yeah, it's nice and bright inside which is good for night time so that way you feel safer . The young man that works here is super nice . Very attentive and very helpful if you have questions, it doesn't seem bothered at all . The donuts were so good last night that we decided to drive over today my husband and I . Last night, my order was chocolate donuts, maple donuts, and two croissants Tonight's donuts are the bear claw and two cinnamon rolls with some puff donuts that look amazing. We tried giving them the benefit of the doubt since months had past after their failed County Food Inspection. Smh But never again. They got greedy and super shady. Was greeted upon entering and saw they had some un-traditional crullers appearance-wise. So, I ordered a couple. The place was clean and there were small tables. The crullers had minimal icing which was a bit thin in texture as well as presence. Not much of a chocolate flavor, either. I've gone a couple times to Natomas donuts and every time is very hit or miss. My first time going they were out of glazed donuts, which to be fair it was 3 AM, but all of the other donuts they had displayed were pretty great! I had the cinnamon roll, creme brulee, maple, chocolate, and some other speciality items they had (I can't remember too much because they aren't too memorable). But after the next 3 times I've gone each time the donuts have gotten worse somehow. Each time I've gone was different times of the day (my wife is pregnant and craving so being open 24/7 is cool). The last two time I've gone back to chase the crème brûlée donut high, and have been let down a crazy amount. One time the sugar was burnt with paper stuck to it, and the next time I was barely brûlée'd but the cream inside tasted as if it had gone bad! I did eventually get a chance to try their glazed donuts, which was a let down compared to the fancier donuts. I ended up just choosing to go to Jack's Donuts wheel instead as we don't care for fancy donuts anyways. read more

Hmmm decided to try something new today and was thoroughly dissatisfied here. Ordered a matcha latte as the photo from the owner was gorgeous. Unfortunately it tastes like black liquorice-gag. Ordered 3 donuts a beautiful strawberry shortcake, a creme brulee custard filled and a maple buttermilk bar. My bill came to $17.90 before tip. I tried the buttermilk bar and it was overwhelming sweet. Way too much sugar in the frosting. I think the lady who helped me was new but that shouldn't affect the donuts. Something is very suspicious, I did an updated review a month or two ago and it's no longer here. The last time I updated the review I spoke about how they had to close down due to mice dropping infestations and just overall being dirty. I have stopped in here a lot and I have always noticed now all the donuts were just out sitting on a rack or very close to the floor. I really enjoyed the tastes of the donuts, but unfortunately I can no longer eat here due to knowing the uncleanliness of the business. The prices are wayyyyyy over priced. Natomas Donuts is one of the few donut shops in Natomas and the only stand alone shop that I know of in North Natomas. Although I have been to Natomas Donuts a few times since they have opened, my most recent experience this past week was just mediocre. There was a small, but decent selection of donuts. I ordered the chocolate glazed donut and it was okay. Good, but not exceptional. The chocolate tasted more like a milk chocolate than dark chocolate. I also tried the maple old fashioned and it was not bad if you like maple. In Sac, I usually get donuts at Marie's and in comparison, the prices at Natomas Donuts are almost double Marie's Donuts and ND's donuts don't taste as good as Marie's. Sorry. That's my opinion. In addition to the donuts, this past week, the store was lacking some elements of comfort. I actually hung out and had my donut in store. There was no A/C in the hot summer month of August and we were hot and using the paper bag the donut came in as a fan to cool down. Furthermore, there were two bathrooms in store and BOTH were not working or not available for use. Also, there are no plugs for laptops available. I guess those were 3 signs that were saying "get your donut and go." Customer service was not bad. The young workers were polite and helpful. Overall, Natomas Donuts is a good donut shop in North Natomas. Donut selection varies, prices are okay, facilities need a few improvements (bathroom). read more
