We stopped in here on a Friday afternoon looking for old-fashioned donuts which the nice woman said they didn't have yet. We picked up a few items to try which tasted like any other donuts; a croissant, an apple fritter, a glazed, a chocolate glazed, and a coffee-style donut which they call cinnamon roll. There's drink in a refrigerator case, no seating, storage behind the counter. Shared parking with other businesses but it was pretty open. Convenient location since I live in West Sac. read more

I work early and love that City Donuts opens at 4. I was able to get 2 dozen donuts on my way to work for my crew. The man helping me even stopped to grab the donuts that had just been made to throw in some fresh ones. They were all delicious and disappeared quickly at work. Found another Cambodian-owned donut shop here in West Sac, what a gem. The lady that helped me was nice. Was a bit disappointed that they only had pre-made sandwiches such as the ham and cheese croissant and a turkey and cheese croissant. I was hoping for a bacon, egg, and cheese croissant, but their ham and cheese was surprisingly good! I appreciated the cheese to ham ratio although the ham does get salty as you get to the middle. I can't be upset about that though since they're not stingy with the ham like other donut shops I've been to. I also ordered a frosted donut (the brown one with peanuts on top, dunno the flavor) and that was surprisingly tasty too. As locals, this is the go to donut spot! It always has been. The family owned small shop is located inside a small strip just before the freeway. There isn't any seating inside, but that should not deter you at all from getting some donuts from here! The staff are always really friendly and very fast. There's always a line but it's worth the wait! Most of the time as long as you're there in the morning the donuts you get are still warm and fluffy and delicious! They also have delicious croissant sandwiches. We take the kids here at least once a week and they always beg for it! We've gotten donuts other places and they never compare. read more

Donut shop is located in a little plaza. Never had any parking issues. However, few times I've been here, there were a few homeless people sitting and sleeping right outside. After going to about 9 different shops in the Natomas area , I accidentally ran into this spot- and they are hands down the best donuts in the area. Their old fashioned donuts are perfect. Crispy edges, the maple frosting has a buttery sweet flavor that isn't too harsh, and the standard donuts are incredibly good. The dough is airy and fluffy but dense enough to be satisfying. This place is about 15 min away (we have 5 shops within a 5 min radius), and they are worth the drive. Compare them like we did...you'll soon be making the drive too read more

This place is busy and chaotic. They are pushing customers through and today there was definitely a language barrier. The donuts are sooo good! Light and fluffy they melt in your mouth. If you see a line out of the door, don't get discouraged...they are quick and always have the donuts coming out fresh. My favorite thing about this shop (other Than the obvious donuts) is the extended hours. Unlike other shops that close early, this shop is open well into the afternoon! Grocery stores are the worst. I am not into the fancy or outragious. I just like your traditional glaze donut. That is what they have here. What makes them different is the freshness. The inside is light and airy. The glaze completely covers the entire donut in just the right amount. The shell has a shine. And I just got the biggest glaze twist I had ever seen today! Their selection is incredibly large, store is not a spectacular viewing, and favorites get sold out quickly but my goodness, each donut I ever tasted from here get the stamp of approval!!! Soft donuts with great texture and taste. I can easily eat this daily. For the filled donut they let you pick the filling and do it on the spot. Donuts are priced well. This establishment is a typical donut shop. I decided to give this establishment a try due to the good reviews. I was quite disappointed when the taste of the donuts did not reflect the good reviews. I ordered a chocolate bar, chocolate donut, sugar donuts, pink sprinkle donut, raspberry filled donut, crumple donut, and a dozen donut holes. The donuts were okay, but were not great. I drive by it every day and have been pining after that pink box! The line was out the door, but it went fast and the employees were kind, despite the continual rush of the last day of school families, National Donut Day celebrators, and those who just wanted their Friday donut goodness! Everyone at work loved the donuts, so I don't have any complaints. I thought my maple bar tasted a little oily, but I attribute this to how busy they were for the silly made-up food holiday! Delicious donuts, friendly staff, and lots of choices. They have been handling covid-19 issues great too, limiting the number of people inside, and putting up barriers at the cash register. I have not had a bad donut here and when I bring them to work and friends, everyone loves them. Their pièce de résistance is the APPLE FRITTER (it rivals Apple Hill treats). It is huge, fried, and has a ton of apple bits. You can share it with a friend if that makes you feel better.
