If you know me, you know I'm a serious plant collector with a collection full of rare tropicals, so…read morewhenever I check out a plant shop, I'm looking for two things: knowledge and selection. Bloomers in Elgin delivered on both. The staff was super friendly, welcoming, and actually knowledgeable about their plants (which makes a huge difference when you're hunting for anything uncommon). They were willing to answer questions and you can tell they genuinely love what they do. Their rare plant selection is dope. There were so many unique plants to choose from, and even what they consider their "regular houseplant section" had plants you honestly won't find at most other shops in Central Texas. I found myself doing multiple laps because I kept spotting things I missed the first time. The greenhouse setup was beautiful and well organized, and you can tell they take pride in the health of their inventory. If you're new to plants, a seasoned collector, or somewhere in between, this place is absolutely worth the trip. 10/10 recommend. Will definitely be back.

I was hopeful that this would be a nice afternoon trip for my husband and I. The website advertised…read morea labyrinth, tearoom, and garden. When we arrived, there were a couple of people there buying plants, so we walked over to the labyrinth - it was overgrown with weeds. I looked for the tearoom and found a patio area with old slightly rusted chairs and a table or two. We gave up on this and walked around to look at some of the plants. We stayed about 10 minutes and left. Not worth the time.

She met me when I arrived, told me the beautiful story of the labyrinth, and then left me in privacy to walk the labyrinth in peace. I felt right at home and felt no need to rush which is essential for such a personal and meditative experience. Just a note: labyrinths are patterns that have been used in different cultural and spiritual settings around the world for thousands of years. You don't have to practice any particular religion to enjoy and benefit from this introspective experience. Dina has created this as a place of peace and healing for the community and has made the experience strictly donation based. I highly recommend this experience for anyone looking for a little respite from life's chaos!

Is it weird that I'm suddenly obsessed with soil? If it is, I don't wanna be right…read more I recently became interested in planting stuff, but everything would grow like those wretched lil' mer-people in Ursala's cave (Little Mermaid reference). Through various conversations, I realized that my soil was as devoid of nutrients as Kim K is of charisma and talent. I decided to seek out help at Far South Wholesale nursery (I'll write a review on them later 'cuz they rock too). Unfortunately, they didn't have what I needed. They suggested I check out Garden-ville and I'm so glad they did! Any soil you need, they have. They are informative, helpful, kind, efficient, and will even tell you some hilarious puns if you let them. They take the time to explain and educate that you wish your primary physician would. I learned, in detail and with orderly steps, what I needed to do to make my lawn and garden beds healthy again. Did I mention they have two beautiful cats??? And the soil....I'm considering buying a truck just so I can purchase their stuff in bulk. It's beautiful. It's alive. It smells like nature. The prices are shockingly good too. I used to purchase crap soil off amazon or from Home depot at 2-3x the cost and half the quality. NO MORE MY FRIENDS. I'm ride or die for Garden-ville.

Their mulch is made on-site, so there is no middle man. In fact, I believe that everything is packaged on- site. They have a complex of over a thousand acres, so it's deceiving when you see the small shop. Plus, this place has been in business since the 1970's, and is family owned.
