Renting with Native Campervans was a great experience! My fiancé and I rented a "Smalls" campervan for ten days from the Salt Lake City location and headed up to spend the week in Yellowstone & Grand Teton National Parks. The rental process was super easy & in the age of Covid, the no-contact pick-up and drop off process was very appreciated! I received a call about a week before our rental to go through the contract and to answer any questions. A couple days before we left, I got an email with a van orientation and pick-up instructions - although the van is set up so intuitively that you don't even need the video! The van is super well equipped with everything you'll need (cooler, water tank, cooking equipment, etc). The van (our was named Stevie Ray Van) was well maintained and very easy to drive, even when we stopped in towns and cities. Some considerations for other renters: - The "smalls" is pretty tight inside. The fiancé is 6'3" and if he had been any taller, he would not have been able to lay down flat. It's also impossible to sit up in the bed area, so if you want to be able to lounge inside, so would recommend that you book the larger vans. - Next time we book with Native (and we'll definitely do so!), we'll likely book the "biggie" as it looks like you have a bit more space to move around. It rained a couple of times during our trip and the tightness of the space made hard to move around with rain jackets and wet clothes. - Our trip was at the end of September so it was getting pretty chilly at night. I was definitely cold under the provided bedding on a couple of the nights but I'm also cold all the time. Fiancé felt totally fine. - Our van was supposed to have cabinets on the kitchen storage side, but the doors had been removed. What we didn't realize was that small things that we put in the door-less cabinets rolled out and got stuck behind the storage bins when we were driving the van, which then made it impossible to close the bins. We spent an hour searching for long sticks to try and reach small jars and boxes that had falled out and gotten stuck behind the storage areas! We ended up having to shuffle a lot of stuff around and couldn't fully utilize these areas for smaller loose items. (Minus one star for the inconvenience). This was honestly the only negative experience that we had throughout the trip, which is pretty amazing. Overall would highly recommend booking with Native Campervans. We had a great experience and got to see some really cool sites and wildlife (at one campsite, we had some baby bears wander right behind our van). The van also gave us a lot more flexibility - we ended up adding an extra day in Grand Teton because it rained and we wanted to spend another night at Jenny Lake. Everyone at the company that I interacted with was extremely friendly and helpful and we're already looking forward to our next rental!

It is not a quite or comfortable ride. June is a beast. June's heat did not work the first night and we froze. As much as Titus was me to believe it was operator error, it was not. Also, emptying the cassette toilet is not as straight forward as they make it. I did exactly as instructed, even shook it and was still was informed is was not cleared out. There must a trade secret here that was not shared with us. Also beware of the rule of no smoking. My partner does smoke but did not smoke in the van or anywhere near the van but we will still be charged a cleaning fee because my partners clothes absorb that odor and the company states that that odor in in the van. Mind you we brought our own bedding and mattress protector too. Finally. mother nature took her turn at June and at Badlands swiped the passenger door clean open. It happens, repair her and send her to amother adventure. All said and done I would have rather put June through the adventure than my vehicle.

We got the 4Runner (Hank!) and it was immaculate inside and out. Travis and team make sure that everything is thoroughly cleaned, so it felt like we were driving a brand new car. The over-the-roof tent is one of the best in class and held up very well in windy 30-40 degree nights. Everything we needed and more was included as part of the equipment/gear, which helped us avoid a stressful preplanning and the usual 'crap, we should've brought that'. This was also our first time in Colorado, and the personalized recommendations from Travis turned out to be the highlights of our entire trip. What has been evident from the beginning are the heart and passion that Travis brings to every aspect of the rental experience -- pre-rental survey, local tips and recommendations, thoughtful gears and equipment (and day-of add on's), and a genuine commitment to the best customer experience. I'll let the pictures do the rest of the speaking - but yourself a favor and book that car you've been eyeing with TAC, it really doesn't get any better than this!

You will get charged for their missteps, corruption, and neglected maintenance. They will pocket that money but not repair problems. We paid the extra $500+ for roadside assistance and premium insurance. When we found the almost blown out tire, the roadside assistance bot referred me to a human agent who I didn't hear from at all for an hour and fifteen minutes and who didn't respond with any guidance or recommendation until over 5 hours later...the guidance was for us to contact a local towing company. It was 103 degrees out, in the desert in July and we had our four children with us. Literally life threatening...both the heat and the high likelihood that the tire would have blown out. And that's just the life endangering part. In addition, this is the list of things we quickly found to be wrong and which the staff did NOT point out in our walk through...we found later that many of these things were already listed in the vehicle's record but buried in their dozens and dozens of pages long document you sign and are encouraged not to read so you can "get on the road" : Smoke detector fell off day 1, Table fell off/screws fell out while driving, Table latch not functional so table doesn't stay up, Drawer crooked and opens while driving, Ladder unusable: totally bent and doesn't stay in hooks, cabinet above dinette rattles and doesn't suction closed while driving, Shower handle falls off, TP holder completely loose/falls off, Fridge does not stay closed while driving and smells terrible, Charging port in bedroom falls out/wires exposed, Plywood under bed mattress is completely loose and slides off bed frame, Exterior bumper/light smashed, gray and black tanks both leak, hot water heater doesn't work. Webpage says kitchen kits are $40, they are "actually $45;" webpage says one kitchen kit included with our model, check out staff said that was "a recent change and no longer true." Kitchen kit is a joke...we bought pots, a knife, a coffee maker, cups, and mugs. Got home hopeful for reimbursement of premium plus roadside assistance based on what checkout staff said...instead got billed for the tire - the tire they sent us with, didn't fix, didn't respond to with pricey roadside assistance, and that very literally could have killed us.
