I had been searching high and low for a Native American flute with a certain bass sound that was pleasing to my ear. I spent a week perusing shops in Arizona, many had low inventory and some vendors did not provide insight in to the flutes they were selling. A famous flute player & musician in Scottsdale recommended that I check out Native American World, a beautiful shop in the heart of Venice Beaches famed Boardwalk! I was incredibly pleased at their selection and pleasantly surprised by the customer service and attention I was provided in order to pick out the flute that was right for me. Mike, the owner, took me through each flute explaining in detail and even demonstrating the sounds of each one. This is true customer service and he did it with a passion and a smile! I'm so happy with my flute! I found a rare piece at an incredible price which is unheard of in Los Angeles! Thanks Mike!

I was looking for some loose buttons for a craft project and wanted a location that had a selection…read moreof individual loose buttons and this place had exactly what I was looking for, right as you walk in. The store itself had everything you could possibly be looking for, for a sewing project or anything related. Their selection of trims was incredible and they also had patches and other items, yarn as well. They also had many many rolls of different types of fabrics, and they also offer clothing modifications. The best part, in my opinion, was their shop dog, who was so incredibly friendly I spent more time petting him than I did browsing around the store. He was standing right outside of the store, so if you're wary of dogs , even though he's so friendly, it is good to note. The store is right on Lincoln Blvd and the parking situation might be difficult if the front areas of the store already have cars there. There is a small lot next to the store but it might be reserved for the restaurant next door. I parked in the residential area right next to the store, so I did not notice if the lot was specific to the restaurant only. The staff was very helpful and friendly as well. Was fun to just browse all of their items and it was nice to have a dog to pet!

The man working…read moreat the register, who may have been the owner, screamed at a woman and forced her to leave after overhearing her speaking about being Israeli with another person . His behavior was enraged, hostile, threatening.and very scary . The most horrifying part was when the woman asked him, "Are you kicking me out because I am Jewish and Israeli?" and he answered, "Yes, you are proving my point." That was not a misunderstanding. That was blatant antisemitism and discrimination. He was so aggressive that I genuinely feared he might physically attack her. I did not step in because the situation felt dangerous. What I witnessed was open antisemitic harassment against a Jewish Israeli woman. It was disgusting, frightening, and completely unacceptable. No one should ever be screamed at, humiliated, and thrown out of a business because they are of a certain race or religion. A couple minutes following this incident, the woman returned and politely asked to pick up her belongings which she left at the store probably due to her fear of being attacked . When the worker saw her - he became enraged and screamed at her to leave - refusing to give her - her staff. She said she will call the police and the man replied "i don't care - call whomever you want" She once again said she is calling the police and complaining about his business to the city and he finally gave her what she forgot when he kicked her out of the store . I am still shocked and shaking thinking about it, and I will never return. I hope this lady file a police report because this was clearly a hate crime and the store worker is also violating

ARTime BARRO is part pottery studio, part community space, and is a relaxing, chill place where you can unleash the creativity you thought was dead, where your artistic spirit gets to come out to play, if only for just a little bit of time in this crazy world. On a recent weekend, I had the opportunity to take the One-Time Class, which is a one-hour course designed for complete beginners. You get to make two pieces, one by hand at the table and one on the pottery wheel. The class size was small (just 5 people) and we got great 1:1 instruction and guidance from our knowledgeable instructor Max. I've always wanted to try the wheel and was surprised how hard it was to use it but it was such a great experience that I think everyone should try at least once. After you sculpt your pieces, you are invited to come back to hand paint (glaze) your work at no additional cost. You can also have them do a one-color glaze for you, but after I saw all the multi-colored pieces of other folks previous to me, it was no contest to decide that I wanted to color my pieces myself. You have up to 3 months to come back to glaze so it's very doable in anyone's busy LA (corporate) lifestyle. Pricing was very reasonable for such a cool bespoke experience. There are a lot of pottery painting studios (e.g. Color Me Mine) but this is awesome bc you get to make the pottery AND color it later! I've already recommended this place to countless people!

My friends and I were looking for a beginner pottery class and found this place through Groupon. We…read moreattended the one-time class, which was a nice introduction to pottery. Our instructor was friendly and gave clear directions on how to mold our pieces. We each made 2 pieces, so the one hour really flew by. We had the option to come back to glaze our pieces or have the studio glaze them for us, and opted for the latter. There's a small lot behind the building, but it was full when I went. It wasn't difficult to find free street parking on a Sunday evening in this area. The pottery pieces could use a bit of extra care in handling (my wheel-thrown piece had rough edges and a random piece stuck on that wasn't there initially, and the glazing didn't look thorough on my other piece), but overall I was happy with my pieces. This was a fun experience, and worth the value!
