If I could give zero stars I would... We have bought 2 ADA conversion vans from United Access. The…read morefirst was at the Redmond location and was a decent experience. The second was at the Sumner location and has been the worst... We will be taking future purchases to other vendors. Please do your research. These vehicles aren't something that anyone buys because they want to... it's absolutely a need. For my family, it's because of my son who is in a power wheelchair. This happens to be the only vehicle that all of my children are in at the same time. Safety is a massive priority for us but particularly for this vehicle. We bought a Toyota Sienna and by the time the first oil change was due... within 4 months and around 4000 miles, the brakes were metal on metal... the heat from this actually started to discolor and warp the rotors... For safety reasons, I had to replace both. I contacted United Access in hopes that they would acknowledge that this should not have happened and possibly make it right... they did not, I was met with invoices showing their third party had deemed everything "green". Maybe I don't know enough about brakes but it seems like a reach that the brakes and rotors went from "green" to needing both brakes and rotors replaced, pretty quickly... This was an expensive repair after just buying an expensive vehicle. It doesn't stop there though... I also made a service appointment because there was a crunching/grinding noise as the conversion ramp deployed and retracted... and the majority of the time, it wouldn't fully retract at all. Nothing like trying to either yank that in floor ramp out or push it back in while it's freezing or raining outside. I was concerned that something was stuck in the tracks and noted that to the service department. At the appointment, they started with their typical troubleshooting at the battery... fine, apparently that was from 2017. They were surprised to find the battery was so old... yet we had just bought this vehicle from them... I guess it was far enough in the "green" when they sold it to us that they also didn't think it warranted a replacement. I paid the $500 to replace that as well and was sent on my way. I had a feeling that wouldn't resolve the issue of the grinding/crunching. I was advised to come back if I continued to have the ramp issues... surprise surprise the ramp still had issues. I called to discuss again and was advised that there would potentially be a discount since it was a return visit for the same issue I had brought it in for the week before... We decided to take the floor off the van to find the noise ourselves... just to potentially save time for a tech troubleshooting... sure enough, the majority of the links that secure the cable for the ramp was crushed and the cable was beginning to be severed. I felt relieved to have found the sound. I took photos and sent them to the service department and put the floor back on. We did not repair it ourselves at the time because we were hopeful that the company would take care of us. Again, I was met with an explanation that they did in fact "fix" the issue and then sent me an invoice with an estimate for $1000ish... zero discount... zero accountability for not looking further into the issue while I was there the first time. Mind you, the first appointment was entire day off of work for me, an hour plus drive each way and the cost of gas. I know that used car dealerships have a bad rap and I should have expected this... but it feels so disheartening to be dealing with, especially when this particular dealership deals in vehicles that are meant for our elderly and/or disabled... they are our most vulnerable and it's clear that this company only cares about the dollar signs. Although they seem to be the biggest/most widely known in our area... there are other dealerships that deal in conversion vans... I would recommend going anywhere else... I know we will in the future.

Tried it before I left, it worked, got home would only randomly work. Called and was told "well it worked when you left".. Great thanks for nothing. Went to a custom audio shop in my local area, they found the problem in less than 5 min. Ended up being the back door relay switch, a $30 part.

When Scootaround was notified, they did absolutely nothing. They were sorry for this "unfortunate incident "! My husband was essentially trapped on the ship and couldn't enjoy this very expensive vacation. Scootaround offered no replacement scooter and no compensation for their inadequacy. DO NOT BUY OR RENT FROM THEM! They may be fine if all goes well, but they are untrustworthy if there's a problem.

Picked up speed at an alarming rate as we headed down the hill, even when I threw it in reverse, cranked down to lowest turtle speed, even turned the power completely OFF. I've never had an ecv keep moving with power totally off, unless the lever is thrown in the back for manual movement. But if the lever is thrown that way, you get no power and can't move at all. I moved fine on my own, until I terrifyingly didn't. Did serpentine S turns for 2 blocks, narrowly missing people, until my husband could catch up and slow/ stop me. Ran right through an intersection. Miracle i wasn't killed. My adrenaline was way up, heart pounding and I was in tears. I called scootaround at 1:26pm, right from the sidewalk. Got put on hold and disconnected twice. Was finally told to get it back to the hotel- which was 4 blocks ALL UPHILL. The scooter is rated for 325#. I am 275#, husband is 225#. The scooter withhold not behave for either of us. Now that we were headed uphill, it Wouldn't even go up the 5" incline from street to sidewalk- you could feel it whirring and whirring under you, but absolutely zero forward motion uphill, even from street to sidewalk. It's the craziest, scariest experience I've ever had with an ECV and it's rental company. As far as I am concerned, scootaround violated the contract by failing to deliver a working scooter on the agreed upon date and then failed to replace the broken one in anything representing a timely manner. That means I'm entitled to a full and complete refund of every penny I have paid you. I don't want so much as one thin dime in credit. I want the entire amount on my visa in 4 days. I told this to Betty on the phone on the 3rd, who said "we'll pick it up tomorrow (meaning the 4th)" and hung up. I left it with bell services at the hotel at approx 2pm 9/3/23. It was not picked up the 4th. I emailed/ called scootaround Again. It was not picked up the 5th. Now we're a day past when scootaround had agreed to pick it up, another Contractual violation. I called and emailed yet AGAIN. Today was the Morning of the 6th, the ecv is STILL HERE in the hotel lobby, now 2 days past pick up date. Now I'm totally pissed. I'm in screaming pain from walking for 3 days, and that hunk of junk just sits there at the bell stand mocking me. I was unable to rent ecv equipment at this late date from anyone else. So I wasted thousands of dollars on car services, plane tickets, hotel rates, event ticket costs, as well as now adding Uber, because your company failed to live up to its one simple contractual obligation, to 1. deliever a safe, working ecv on 9/2/23, and 2. If something was wrong, to swap it out in the timely manner i was assured would be the case however unlikely as that was to be necessary. It. Wasn't. Instead, scootaround Seattle left me an ecv that literally almost killed me, and couldn't have given a rats rear as that left me, a double surgical knee replacement patient, stranded on the sidewalks of Seattle after nearly running thru traffic on an out of control scooter that would not stop for anything, to the point they never even bothered to pick up the ecv for an additional 3 days. Do I sound upset? Because I am. I've written the same email and made the same calls 4 days in a row and only today did I even get so much as a "we're sorry". Scootaround completely ruined a trip months in the making for my autistic twins, and it took FOUR DAYS to get even a simple "i'm sorry". I've rented ecvs for fifteen+ years and this is the single WORST experience i've ever had with any ECV company ever, in any town in any month in any year. I'm no longer interested in apologies. I want an immediate full refund of $330.76 (see attached screenshot) to my Visa ending in xxxx. After that is complete, I never want to hear the name of your company again. Marilyn Brownjohn

These folks have a HUGE selection of gently-used manual wheelchairs, motorized wheelchairs (I…read morethink!), wheelchair cushions, hospital beds, toilet chairs, bedpans, portable urinals, laptop tables on wheels (to use with a hospital bed), recliners, etc. I needed a wheelchair because my back problems are getting worse and I kept falling, even with using my rollerator. I didn't want to wait for Medicare/Medicaid to approve a wheelchair purchase b/c they take too long and they usually spend the least amount of money for a person's medical needs. Instead, I paid out of pocket for a nice wheelchair that was originally $300. I paid $85! And the service was great, too. There's a guy named Bob who fixes wheelchairs and other mobility devices. He was friendly and thorough! He made sure that my wheelchair had everything it needed. He swapped out some parts for better parts and fixed the two footrests about two weeks later because one of them kept falling off. All of their profits from sales go back into the Multiple Sclerosis community to help people pay rent, get jobs, etc. I am glad I could help out by buying one of the wheelchairs. I plan on returning in a month or so to buy some more used accessories for my wheelchair. There WAS a weird woman who kept pestering me about things I was looking to buy. At first, I thought she worked there but she was just an obnoxious customer. She kept trying to touch my hair! My caregiver had to tell her to back off! Thankfully, she wasn't there the second time my caregiver and I went there. Anyway... ;-)
