I guess these people truly are horrible, because I am not the only one who would say so. I only have terrible things to say about Dayana S., Nulka M., and this business overall- but it looks like anyone can just take one look and see all these previously written 1 star reviews from everyone and steer clear. My father unexpectedly passed and we trusted Dayana to assist with funeral arrangements. She was kind at first, but out of nowhere flipped a switch as soon as you catch her in her lies and even has the nerve to blame you (the customer) on top of the already difficult time one goes through when a loved one passes. She took our money and ran. The refund she eventually returned wasn't even the full amount and we are currently still going through a case with her. The support/office staff is garbage. They try to give you hard time when asking for legal documents or other important documents pertaining to your deceased family member. This funeral home is evil!! No one knows what he is doing nor do they care! They give the lowest prices to attract people, but they do it because they are garbage how they treat people and the corpse! When it comes to Auxiliadora and the national funeral home, in those two locations that they have, paying cheap is the biggest mistake! Do not go with them you will regret it! My daughter's father passed away. And when his body areived ar the funeral for the viewing, he was so hideously! They made he look like a 70 year old man. And he passed away at the age of 39. The makeup looked so poorly done and very cheap quality. So bad that his makeup was peeling off her face. His lips were awkwardly glued together, with a very sad expression, and his eyes were sunken. They put too much formaldehyde in him! He was excessively stiff. They wrapped him in plastic like he was a mummy. It was such a horrible site to stare at, that I told my daughter not to look at him and that she was better off staying away because she was going to be traumatized by seeing her father in those conditions. It gave us such an awful impression. They do not care about the family or their feelings in such a difficult and horrible time that we are going through. What they want is to collect money from everyone. They are scammers! They said they were going to put pastries from the bakery. And what they bought was 2-3 tiny boxes of cookies and nothing else. We had to bring our fruits, ham and cheese trays from Publix. They also charged us for bringing flowers from a florist. From the beginning they gave us wrong instructions when it came to signing documents! After two weeks, they call you to rectify everything after they failed. They told us that the ashes would be ready in 7 to 10 days. The corpse was decomposing for a whole month in their refrigerator. all because they continue making huge mistakes with documents for the cremation approval. They kept failing one after the other. They don't know what they are doing! they are incompetent! There is an article that you can search for at miaminewtimes.com "funeral homes of horror." it's all about their funeral home. They had a huge lawsuit against them back in 2006. They sent the wrong corpse to a father in Cuba and instead they sent him a Haitian and not his son. And the body of the son was wrongfully cremated and the ashes were given to the Haitian family. The Haitian family did not know that it was not their deceased loved one and they went ahead and threw the ashes into the sea. The poor father in Cuba was never able to see his son, not even in ashes! this was brought to my attention when we were in the middle of this crisis with them. seeing that they were a disaster, I begged them to let me identify the corpse one more time before they put it in for cremation and they wanted to charge me $300 just for that because it's supposedly a "service"! I told them I didn't want to spend time with the corpse, I just wanted to confirm it was the right corpse before they cremate him and they don't give me the wrong ashes. To at least have the courtesy with us, after all that we have gone through with them. Since we already lost our trust and hope in them. Unfortunately, they didn't want to grant us that last request. The only person that treated us with decency was an American man by the name of Paul. And the worst person there that is the most repulsive, ghetto, rude, and evil one was the owner Dyana Sosa. Let's start by saying I should have an option of (0) stars for this funeral home but since I don't I have to choose a (1) star rating. Our family went to this location over the weekend. Personally, picked up the pamphlets they have with all the packages and services being rendered. I called and spoke directly with Dayana the owner on Sunday who quoted me a price on a funeral service with burial but no viewing. She advised she would meet me at 1:30pm at Vista Memorial to pick the lot for the burial on Monday. SHE NEVER SHOWED UP it took (7) phone calls to finally get the "funeral director" as Dayana would not take my phone call but to let me know to see a sales agent at Vista. At Vista Memorial obviously was not the price that Dayana Sosa had offered. Dayana took advantage of my vulnerable state. Last week I called to get some information on a death certificate I have to amend on the incorrect details that were provided on the death certificate. After the phone ringing several times, a young women by the name of "ARIANA" answered the phone she sounded as if this was her part time job, while still attending high-school. She answered the phone with an extremely rude tone to her voice and answered by saying "HELLO!!!" as if I was calling her house. I simply asked her whether National Funeral Homes was formally known as Miami Funeral Services " due to this name being on the death certificate. This girl named "Ariana" responded ,so unprofessional, unethical, uncustomary , with an attitude rudely disregarding my question and asking me "WHO AM I"? You can only imagine what I was thinking, this was unreal to me I am contacting a Funeral Home in which you expect the outmost professional behavior, ethical, consideration and understanding to those people who call requiring services that potentially could be customers in need which maybe going through dark times in their lives. I told Ms. Ariana am I a customer and I simply would like to know whether this business was formally known as Miami Funeral Services? After denying the name two times , she finally answered by saying "YES IT IS!". Once I finally went over the first hurtle with her, I ask if I can speak to the funeral director? She then put me on hold for a few minutes, when she returned she told me Mrs. Martinez is there on Thursday! I asked her if I could go today Monday? She responded: "NO THURSDAY"! After taking so much abuse and disrespect, I asked: "Is she there another day?" This girl Ariana went berserk , and shouted on the phone " WHAT ARE YOU ASKING ME TO GIVE YOU HER SCHEDULE?". As you can see at this time I was dumfounded with this behavior. It is when I asked to speak to the manager or a funeral director. She raised her voice at me and said: "I AM THE MANAGER!!!" before I can continue to say anything else, this girl hung up the phone on me and before she did she shouted: "NOW YOU ARE GOING TO NOTARIZE YOUR DOCUMENTS YOURSELF"!. I called , not once but several times, she picked up the phone again as this was her home and hung up on me many times. In one of those times I said to her " You seem to have an attitude, I would like to speak to the Funeral director at this time". This girl "Ariana" acted out of control and projected everything she was doing on to me. Finally around the 5th call Mrs. Martinez got the phone and I explained the situation and how I have never in my life had to call a business, most especially this kind of business, that you would think it is a reputable one and get this type of treatment and abuse. Mrs. Martinez's tone sounded as she too was mocking what I was telling her and this was also a joke to her. She definitely did not take action or did not take into heart anything I said to her. I think in the end this girl Ariana is related to this Mrs. Martinez, the way she sounded on the phone, with my concerns , I was able to tell this was unimportant to her. I want people to be aware of how this place is running. Think twice in giving your business to these crooks, you may be in this same situation tomorrow and the last thing you want yourself or any loved one is experience this disrespect and unprofessional behavior when undergoing through those dark times in our lives. I sent flowers to my grandma Maria, they gave them to the wrong person. I called the flower shop and they sent me the signature of the funeral home associate who received the flowers. The funeral home says the flowers were addressed to the other person but the receipt clearly states my grandma's name. I understand they made a mistake. When I first called the funeral home the person who answered admitted they made a mistake. But then, the owner called me to tell me they didn't make any mistake and it was the flower shop's fault and the flowers were gone. My father-in-law passed away last week, and we required immediate assistance for his funeral services. National Funeral Homes was available for us, since the minute we walked in with amazing customer support, prices, showing care for our family. During our service this past weekend the facility was completely clean, organized all the details in order as we had requested them. During the services hours there was a person assisting with the serving of freshly made Cuban coffee and assuring all of attendees were taken care of. Saying our goodbyes during last minutes we extended the time a bit and no one came to tell us to leave or interrupted it was a beautiful gesture from their part! The team at national funeral homes not only gave me the best price for both funeral and burial (literally half of what the other places were charging) but they were able to accommodate our requests and needs in a timely manner. We were able to do the funeral and burial within the same week due to our combined efforts. My mom unexpectedly died. Like most people, she did not have the funeral home paid in advance. So I looked around. Sometimes it's hard to do things well when you're dealing with grief and so many other things. But I was motivated by the desire to have an appropriately dignified ceremony for my mom. I didn't want to have something substandard or get ripped off. One of the funeral homes I called restricted viewings to only three hours, but was not any less expensive. Great for their profits, not so much for me and family. I actually found out that some "family owned" funeral homes are actually part of big corporations, and it shows. So in my search I found Auxiliadora Funeraria National. I had never heard of them before, even though I must have passed by their location a thousand times. I called and their president, Dayana Sosa, quickly answered. She and her husband own and manage the funeral home. Turns out that they have been around since 1993. When we met in person, she and the staff did not rush the meeting or push me to purchase. In fact, they gave me some coffee and Dayana told me to take as much time as I needed and answered my questions calmly in a relaxed environment, even though I could tell that, as business woman and entrepreneur, not just a manager, she was receiving texts and calls. The funeral home had a good, classical look about it. We had the kind of conversation that is only possible in an independent business, as businesses go. They are a business, but they are not just business. There is personality and just plain human care and interaction, too. Not every word was geared to closing the deal. We actually talked about other things, as real conversations tend to go. And this humanity I appreciated. Not only did they not have the same restrictions as other funeral homes, but they had all-night viewing as an option, which is what I wanted. Several other funeral homes cap the viewing to 12 midnight. They also had coffee and sweets available and a TV to put a picture slideshow on. And, unlike any other funeral home I called, they reserve the entire place just for you that night. So you don't have to share it with other families. This made it more personal. And the kicker? They are less expensive than almost every other funeral home. Dayana and the employees at the funeral home were very kind with me. I asked many questions, and they answered each one. The prayer cards were the best I've seen. They come printed with quality holy images on one side and a prayer on the other, as well as the name and birth/death date of the deceased, and they come laminated. I asked Dayana for more after the funeral to send to out-of-state family members and she was nice enough to print me some more without charging me extra. These are people who will work with you and won't nickel-and-dime (if it were only nickels and dimes!) you, as long as you work with them. Want to get a grave marker, scroll or tombstone a fourth off what the cemetery is asking? Dayana can probably help you. She definitely helped me. I got my mom's marker restored (since the cemetery plot was a double and the marker had been there since my grandma died almost 20 years ago) and her scroll installed for less money than what the cemetery was asking just for the scroll. These are decent business people, not money worshipers. They do charge $10 more for each flower sent from another flower shop. I asked Dayana about that and she told me that flower shops would previously just drop off the flowers without arranging them, so they started charging them for it. That's understandable. Even with the additional cost for the all-night vigil and church service it was less expensive than other funeral homes without those. And, though I didn't ask for additional proof (which I'm sure they'd be glad to provide), they certify that their caskets are made in the U.S.A., and not inferior Chinese knock-offs. I was happy with the casket model and price. I am not one to write reviews often. But this is not just some consumer product. I amgrateful how well they handled everything, for the personal service, and the relatively low cost, since there are so many costs associated with death already. For many products and services, the value is close to what you pay for. But here the value is certainly greater than the cost, especially when compared to the other options available. Don't discount Auxiliadora because they are not a "big name", or the ones you know. Exactly what more are these "big names" offering? I hope I will not need to arrange a funeral again for a very, very long time. But if I do and Auxiliadora is still there and still giving great prices and service, I will be going with them again, especially if Dayana is still at the helm. And I'd recommend them to all my friends and family. As always, do your research. They get a much deserved "5 stars" from me. read more

This funeral home is very disorganized and unprofessional. They are filled with scams and try to hustle every amount they could. My best friend mother died on Tuesday and we use this funeral home because it was nearby. But I should've looked on yelp and realized what everyone says is absolutely true. I just so happen to be in the office of the owner the day of the viewing, a staff member screamed at me to translate what the owner was saying in Spanish. And while I addressed tHe situation this was a very low point for myself as it was the first time seeing my bEst friends mom in her casket. This was so insensitive. On the day of the burial, we paid for escorts at 9:30. And the auxiliador left at 9 with only 2 cars following. They didn't even wait for the children of the deceased. Everyone was left at the funeral home waiting. This was very tough for my best friends family. They will tell you anything you want to hear just to get your business. The service they give is subpar. When I looked into the company they have been sued multiple times. They cremated the wrong person who should have been buried and his ashes went to the wrong family and the poor guy was to be buried. When the family asked for the ashes back they were told the family who received them during the accidental cremation had scattered the ashes at sea :( How does a funeral home cremate the wrong person and blame the family? I went to four different places for comparison and gave the family the options. We were all very pleased by the way the staff, especially Yenni Aguirre handled all our questions and concerns. Yenni was professional in her dealings yet showed compassion and empathy. We never felt rushed or inconvenienced. We had a small, private viewing due to the nature of the circumstances. National Funeral Home initially told our family that they would obtain the remainder of the cremation costs from the "estate." In our state, it is no secret that it takes about 6-9 months to go through the court process to settle an estate after a death. After 2 months, Russell at National Funeral Home called us to let us know in an incredibly rude manner that we have this week to pay for the remaining costs of the cremation and if not, the remaining balance would be sent to the collections office. I find this to be so unprofessional for a number of reasons: 1. We were clearly told that the balance would be obtained from the "estate" which they should know will take 6-9 months. 2. Their assumption is that we would not pay and therefore, it would need to go to collections -- very insulting. We can pay for the estate, but would obviously prefer that it be paid through the estate which we were told was where they intended it be paid from too. Wow! I don't have enough words to express the gratitude I have for the staff of this wonderful funeral home. I had a relative pass away on labor day just as we were under hurricane Dorian scare. I was calling around to different funeral homes to try and make arrangements and they are the only ones that answered the phone and offered to take care of every detail for my aunts transfer from New York where she died to providing the cemetery plot at the very specific cemetery I insisted I wanted to my aunt buried at because her mother and daughter were buried there. They took care of ordering the death certificate for me as well. I'm telling you, they really helped me by taking on all of the details so that I could mourn and grieve my aunt without worry. From the moment I spoke with Dayana the owner to meeting in person with her and the funeral director, Raphael as well as Marie the person who prepares the corpse I knew I was In the right place. They were all there when I went down to the funeral home the same day to Contract them and explained all of the steps and assured me that all will be ok. I left there confident that I had made the right choice. The funeral service took place with out a glitch just as they had promised and the burial was also done with dignity, love and respect. Our attendant, Maritza was very attentive and friendly during the funeral service and made sure we had coffee, water and snacks throughout the service. Constantly checking in on us throughout. I remembered National from the signs the have for cremation services on Bird Road, so he found them and called for pickup of my father, and to handle the cremation. It was an AWFUL experience. Awful. Just to give you an idea, I had specified that his father had died upstairs on a second floor. Though National charged $500 for pickup, they sent ONE frail older man to pickup the deceased - someone who could NEVER have managed the task on his own - even on a first floor, not to mention he arrived 3-4 hours late, which will be relevant later in the story. So myself, my brother and uncle all had to maneuver his corpse down the flight of stairs because the older man could not manage this alone. Later, when I went to the location to manage the details of the cremation, they told me 1) they were charging an EXTRA $100 (on top of $500) for the pickup, because it was "after hours" - even though they had called well within regular hours, but the pickup arrived late, and 2) that it would take 2 weeks (!) to cremate the body! These are careless, unprofessional people and NO ONE should entrust their loved ones to them. We have actually paid extra to transfer the remains to another location who are treating them with the respect, professionalism and empathy that he deserves. read more

This is the worst funeral home ever they let my mother sit in a freezer for 20 days before they cremated her because they wouldn't get someone to sign the death certificate do not go here if you really loved your person. Also when booking the cremation one of the ladies who set ups the bodies for display at the funeral was complaint and cursing about putting jewelry a family member had brought for the deceased to wear. read more

My friend's mother's funeral was strange, only because it wasn't the funeral that the family had actually wanted for their mother. It ended up being the funeral Rafael (who works at National) thought they should have for her. What?! Rafael is very proud of his Spanish-speaking skills, and he wanted everything to be in Spanish, EVEN THOUGH THE FAMILY REQUESTED IT IN ENGLISH. But, he knew better, and he managed to get himself hired to conduct the service despite the family requesting an English-speaking priest. Weird. read more

When you are grieving a loss, one seeks refuge at a funeral home. The last thing I expected was to be treated so rude. I contacted National funeral Home on Saturday and I was explained the price for cremation was $595 and what it included (although when you google it says starting $395). When I arrived I sat with an African american male who took the paper I was given with prices, and began to explain it was $680.00. Which met I had to pick up the death certificate myself (otherwise an extra $120 for courier service). They do NOT do cremations on site. I then stated I'm going to contact Shaw and Allen ....this man has made a statement how they are a wharehouse......that National was in Coral Gables ....taxes are higher...I was so disgusted with this place...but I do what to give them a news flash....You establishment is not in Coral Gables...you are in front of the Casino...City of Miami...I would never recommend this place to NO ONE!!! I was in charge of coordinating the services for my father in law and this is where the family has always gone to for funeral services. I was a little concerned by the reviews but when all was said and done they were VERY professional and accommodating. They arranged to pick up the body of deceased and then explained the various options to choose from (all reasonably priced). I was able to handle all of the paperwork including payment via phone so that was very helpful. The service was exactly as described. Overall I was very pleased with their service. Mrs. Dayana, My name is Veronica Torres and the reason for this email because I have left various messages with your employees to have you contact me in regards to the bad service that my family and I received during the arrangement process, funeral service and delivering the deceased to the cemetary. The loss of my grandmother was a very hard blow for my family and I, especially me because I above everyone else took care of her. When we sat down as a family to discuss what are arrangements were going to be; your funeral home "National" was considered and later picked because someone mentioned that it was one of the best in Miami in respects to working with the family and the compassion that your funeral home displays towards the family of the deceased. Let me remind you that I am no expert in funeral arrangements, although I have attended many, this was the first one in which I had the privilege to plan on my own which is why it was important to me to make sure this funeral would be nothing less than perfect and beautiful.... but it wasn't. On Tuesday the 27th of October, I picked out my grandmothers casket and I was guaranteed a white casket with pink fabric on the inside. Now they weren't to sure if this could happen but the gentleman working in the warehouse happened to pass by the office at the time and he guaranteed my family and I that it would not be a problem.... oh but it was, because 2 hours before the services were to set to start on Friday October 30 I received a phone call that those colors together can not be done. I was given two options; pink on pink or white on white. Because I didn't want my grandmothers body to be viewed on the floor because I couldn't get the casket that I was guaranteed to get, I had to "Settle" for pink on pink which is what I didn't want. I picked that color because I had already bought her a white 3 piece dress and could not put her in an all white casket with white fabric because then all you would see would be her head and not her clothing. 4 hours prior to getting that phone call about the colors to the fabric and casket I received another call from someone in your office asking when we were going to bring her clothes. That was Friday her clothes were left on Wednesday. Did they get lost? No, but for a moment I was wondering if I was going to have to bury my grandmother naked. Luckily it was found, yes misplaced but found but that was besides the point. I paid for 2 priest, one for the viewing the other for the burial. I dont know what happened but that priest canceled last minute and they sent me the owner of the funeral home which I was told was your husband who is not a priest. He carried a half broken Bible and spoke words that was a little hard to understand. He never addressed anything about my grandmother during the sermon except to say that she looked tired and peaceful. All words before that and after that was about eating to much sugar and getting diabetes. I didn't know we were in a comedy club nor did I know that I was getting a lesson on how and what to eat. He ended his sermon with a joke. Mrs. Dayana a funeral home is not were people make jokes. I paid and it was written down for an American priest for both days and I got your husband and a Columbian who became an American citizen but had a horrible English accent. Can you notice my frustration? Last but not least the women who worked that Saturday morning the 31st who drove the hearse to the cemetary was going 55mph on a 40mph zone. Everybody got lost and couldn't enjoy the ride because some of us were trying to catch up. Yes granted, I did not pay for a police escort but none the less she didn't have to be reckless because the deceased body in that hearse was my grandmother and if she had to brake instantly my grandmother could've flown out. I addressed that issue at the time of the exchange from hearse to horse and carriage and her only response was "that's what you get for not paying for escort" she was right but that was uncalled for. She reminded me that she couldn't be late but we were still late because we had to wait for the pallbearers to arrive because they got lost in transit. Now going back to the casket issue, because I was guaranteed a white casket and pink fabric I went ahead and rented a horse and carriage with instructions of the color so they can coordinate their horse attire to my liking and because the casket was pink and not white it looked ugly inside the carriage because I imagined everything to be white. I was in charge of something that I was going to remember as not only a sad day but something so beautiful like sending her off like the queen she was. You guys robbed me of that which is why I deserve some type of reimbursement for the failures that occured on this sad and horrible day. I said goodbye and buried my grandmother not the way I wanted to but the way you made me do it cuz I had to "Settle" with what you had and not with what I paid for. This is so unfair. read more
