Pamphlets being handed out in funeral home.

Let's start by saying I should have an option of (0) stars for this funeral home but since I don't I have to choose a (1) star rating. Our family went to this location over the weekend. Personally, picked up the pamphlets they have with all the packages and services being rendered. I called and spoke directly with Dayana the owner on Sunday who quoted me a price on a funeral service with burial but no viewing. She advised she would meet me at 1:30pm at Vista Memorial to pick the lot for the burial on Monday. SHE NEVER SHOWED UP it took (7) phone calls to finally get the "funeral director" as Dayana would not take my phone call but to let me know to see a sales agent at Vista. At Vista Memorial obviously was not the price that Dayana Sosa had offered. Dayana took advantage of my vulnerable state. PLEASE STAY AWAY there are so many other ways to go about burying your loved ones. Go directly to Vista Memorial and work out a deal and CHOOSE ANOTHER FUNERAL HOME. It sad to know that DAYANA SOSA is taking advantage of people in her own community.

    Receipt

I sent flowers to my grandma Maria, they gave them to the wrong person. I called the flower shop and they sent me the signature of the funeral home associate who received the flowers. The funeral home says the flowers were addressed to the other person but the receipt clearly states my grandma's name. I understand they made a mistake. When I first called the funeral home the person who answered admitted they made a mistake. But then, the owner called me to tell me they didn't make any mistake and it was the flower shop's fault and the flowers were gone. She treated me horribly and 0 compassionate with me being so far and unable to say goodbye to my grandma. To think I was the one who directed my uncle to this funeral home. SHE MADE ME FEEL AWFUL and refused to send me a copy of her receipt, because if she did it would clearly say my grandma's name. I attach the receipt from flower shop

    All is a bad business.

There are many things to consider when dying. Do you want to be buried underground or placed on a wall? Would you prefer to be cremated? Donated to science? Do you want to have burial plots for yourself and your loved ones? Believe me there is much to consider. Assuming you're practical, this place is a reliable option. The office staff is pleasant and completely sympathetic to this difficult subject. I personally spoke to Sergio and Gladys and they were beyond helpful. While I may not have funeral expenses on my current to-do list, I did get a rundown when I went in for other matters. As far as burials go, I have several family members at this cemetery and have never had any issues. The graves are well kept and there is plenty of space. There are also nearby flower shops, so visiting your loved ones and bringing a token of your affection is a breeze. Oh, and a final tidbit - they don't remove bodies. From my conversation with staff, the oldest grave around is from the early 1900s. I know that in comparison to other cemeteries that doesn't seem like much, but Miami is a relatively new city. Visit HistoryMiami to get a better idea. Anyway, point is they truly respect the dead.

I am extremely disappointed and saddened with the treatment I received yesterday at this location…read more My aunt paid for a lot over 50 years ago in full. When my father passed away in 2011 everything was great. They ended up convincing me to turn the lot into 2 so of course I signed the contract in 2011 for about $3500 dollars paid on it religiously for 5 years about $2300 dollars. Unfortunately I lost my job and was unable to continue paying for it. Fast forward to this year my mother health is declining so I went there seeking help and was told that pretty much my original contract was cancelled the lot is no longer valued at 3500 but $9995 they would do me the favor of reducing this to a 50 percent off but the original money I paid on this of the $2300 is pretty much up in the air no guarantee this money could be applied to my balance. Mind you this is a lot originally paid in full and my father is already buried in it. I understand this is a business because honestly it's all it is No compassion what so ever now a days. All about money. I understand I am at fault for unfortunately breaking the contract however at no point did my action cause the company to loose any money the lot was already paid for my father is buried there and it was not like you would just bury another random body on top of my father. You are a place that is dealing with many families going through very hard times and some grieving. I definitely think you need to have people with more compassion. Everything is about money with them! So now I'm pretty much stuck with a new contract lost who gave a million or billion dollar company $2300 dollars for free when I basically live check to check. Extremely disappointed and if I had another choice I definitely would have went some where else. But I want to bury my mother together with my father so basically it is what it is. If I could give a zero I definitely would.

In 1926, McDonald Lovell was commissioned to design a mausoleum for the cemetery. The cemetery holds 60,000 people. This cemetery contains many notable people. Buried here is Desiderio Armas II, the youngest mayor of Santiago Cubo and father of Desi Arnaz from I Love Lucy. This is the final resting place of an Olympic swimmer, hall of fame baseball player, and an actress. Here you will find the pioneers like George Merrick, founder of Coral Gables and William Brickell, one of the founders of Miami. Other pioneer names you will see here include Munroe and Colllins. Former Nicaraguan And Cuban Presidents are interred here along with Manuel Artime, one of the leaders of the Bay of Pigs Invasion and Cuban exile leader Jorge Mas Canosa. Woodlawn Park contains the oldest Jewish cemetery in Miami as well as the oldest Greek, Chinese, Cuban, Roman Catholic, and Masonic burial plots in South Florida. One of my favorite parts of the cemetery is the monuments built to honor the soldiers buried here. Some were American soldiers who lost their lives in the Labor Day Hurricane of 1935. There are also 13 graves of Common Wealth War soldiers from WWII that include one Brit, two New Zealand airmen, and 10 personnel from the Royal Navy. I love the history contained in this cemetery. It's park like setting makes it a peaceful final respite. The lovely landscaping attracts feathered friends and in addition to being a cemetery it is also a bird sanctuary. HistoryMiami sometimes schedules historical walkIng tours through here which I would love to take someday. As long as you visit respectfully, this is a great place to explore the history of Miami.

Everything went fine up until cremation. My husband and I arrived around 7:45 AM to ID the body. My mother chose a photo urn from the company. I told Tony that morning that I purchased something to hold some ashes also, and I wanted them to put a small amount aside for me. I told him to write it down so it would be done. He said he would tell the person doing the cremation. Today I was told his name is Lazaro. This past Saturday my mother went to pick up the ashes and she was only given the photo urn. My request for ashes for my necklace was not completed. I am deeply saddened by this issue because I thought I was going to have a piece of him to keep with me forever. My dad died in a span of five days. So far the only solution offered was bringing my mom's urn back. They mentioned it wasn't written in the contract. I bought the necklace after I decided to use the company. Also whether I bought the necklace before or after is irrelevant as the cremation had not taken place yet. I even inquired about a necklace purchase from Maspons. Maybe my request was not completed because I didn't buy it from them. Again, I asked Tony to notate it at 7:45 AM. How is the family supposed to move forward by making me come back to the funeral home and dealing with an past hurdle? I am a teacher and finally decided to come back to work because I thought I was past the next difficult thing and could remain composed for my students. Apparently not, because although my father died on October 11th, still is still no peace, not even for him. This is unacceptable.
