Fifteen minutes into the service Sales Staff member, Damarys Moreno rudely interrupted the pastor and addressed the entire funeral party to ask "How much longer is THIS going to last?" I was shocked and enraged by the lack of humanity, decency and common respect anyone would show to a grieving family. Other staff members assured the family that management would be in contact to correct this egregious wrong and NO ONE from this establishment has called to offer an apology. As someone who works in the Mortuary business this was a new LOW in service I have ever seen. Use this business at your OWN PERIL!! They have no respect for the grieving or the dead. I can tell you from too much experience that Gateway Monuments, and its principal owner, Mr. James Kamercia, are indeed the best in the business. They care so much to get the job right, they certainly do "cross their T's and dot their I's". Not long ago I lost my Grandmother, my father-in-law and my Dad, all within a 9 month period. Mr. Kamercia worked with my family and me to design, engrave and install my Grandmothers marker, consulted us on the dealings we had with the company designated to engrave at a mausoleum for my Father, and researched and suggested casket and urn choices for my father-in-law's arrangements. The wealth of knowledge that this individual provides (I believe that he has taught mortuary science at The University of Miami and has worked in many aspects of the funeral services business) is emotionally invaluable and financially quite fair. This guy Kamercia is the best of the best, the go to guy if you ever need to know anything about the funeral business or need a true work of art in a memorial......but personally, I hope not to need to order another monument again..........As I said, its a tough business. However, my family knows who to call when my time is up.

In terms of pricing that's something that would have to be looked at on a case by case basis as that varies greatly. They decided on a 2 hour viewing so everyone could say their proper goodbyes. They have a screen available to play video or pictures if you have a USB. They can also play your loved ones favorite music if you provide a playlist or a CD etc. It was nice hearing some of the music that brought us back sweet memories. The facility was clean and the staff only came out to greet everyone in the beginning and at the end to give their last condolences. Giving us our privacy. Everyone appreciated that. R.I.P.
