We were a little concerned because the container seemed small but they fill that styrofoam container to the brim. The fact that it comes full of rice, veggies and 3 pieces of chicken is fantastic value. The rice and beans is great but yes, take their recommendation and put either jerk or curry gravy over the rice! The jerk chicken was spicy and flavourful but the fried chicken was just okay. I preferred the jerk chicken because there are better places for fried chicken. Got a side order of plantains that was nice and sweet. There are so many jerk places in the area, but this place is a great option.

The person behind the counter was polite and she took my order and prepped the food (she also washed her hands between taking the cash and starting the food, so I really appreciated the cleanliness. I ordered a simple boneless curry chicken roti with a little spice. The roti is perfectly cooked, not at all chewy and has the right kind of crumble to it. I really enjoyed that part. The curry inside was ok. It was very watery, so it's not the type that you can eat with your hands. You NEED a fork/spoon. The chicken and potatoes were cooked, the curry seasoning was somewhat bland. It tasted ok, but could have used more seasoning. The pricing was ok, but I would probably only go back if I was in a pinch.

I had the jerk lunch combo- and the flavours were okay but it didn't hit you like true jerk chicken does. It felt muted and missed the open grill taste of true jerk. Boy, was this place pretty disappointing. The oxtail was cooked decently but the seasoning was extremely off. The rice and peas were decent at best. I also grabbed a goat soup which was okay. The large oxtail portion was enough for me to keep for two days, which is a plus. I just wish it tasted better. However the service wasn't bad and I am open to trying new dishes at Mama D's.

May be more crowded if there are more people, or if you have a party larger than 6. Food quality: Ordered the large jerk chicken and large oxtail dinners with rice & peas, totalling $40. The oxtail was very delicious, with the meat falling off the bone, the cartilage ready to be scraped, and nice amount of gravy for the rice. The jerk chicken was a little lacking in terms of flavour and spice, but I appreciate the softness of the mean and lack of bone shards. Service: Standard quick and courteous. Please be mindful that they only accept cash/debit. Final thoughts: I would visit again to try the roti, jerk chicken wrap, and coleslaw.

I am glad that I finally came here today! This time I got out of my comfort zone "Jerk Chicken" and excitedly tried "Jerk Pork" for the first time, which was backed up by a high reputation among trusted foodies. My order was Jerk Pork Poutine only but it was a hit! The pork had all the qualities of good roasted pork - Crispiness outside, chunkiness, juiciness & tenderness inside full of jerk flavor!!!!! The outside crispiness keeps the juice and flavor of the meat. The fries, gravy, and cheese were there to complement the meat. I am glad that I tried this today. In the past at other places, I have had many poutines that had meat items on top of poutines, but they are usually using stringy dry overcooked meat in place of gravy. But Jus Jerk Stop's poutine let the meat play the leading role of the show. I appreciated this! I wanted to try Oxtail (recommended in the radio show) but it is available only on Thursday and Friday. Must come back for this. The size of the poutine was smaller than I expected ($14.15 before tip). But I looked for quality over quantity, so I was very happy. Nice to have this place in my area.

Option to add 1 chicken leg or 4 chicken wings or 3 chicken balls for $3.25. Extra Bbq sauce, honey garlic sauce, and sweet and sour sauce $1.25. The owner told me she's been open for 8 months now. I love supporting local businesses especially when they work hard to provide quality food at very reasonable prices. I ordered the chili chicken on steamed rice and sweet and sour chicken. The chili chicken is deep fried and then stir fried in their chili sauce and onions. The heat level was tolerable and the seasoning was just right. The sweet and sour chicken also had deep fried boneless chicken thigh meat and covered in the ultra red sweet and sour sauce. I was so hungry and wasnt able to take pictures of the food. Portion wise, I would say it's fair for the price you pay however I would have liked just a little more chicken in each lunch special. The restaurant is fully licensed and serves beer and alcohol. The dining area has a nice warm caribbean decor. I will try to come next time and dine in because the food is more enjoyable when consumed right away. Overall, I recommend this place if you're looking for some caribbean, Hakka, and Guyanese flavours. Will try other items on the menu like the Lo-mein, Special chicken (fried chicken on top) chowmein, Pepper shrimp chowmein.
