02/12 This is Nathan's Famous Hotdogs, how on earth can they score 2 stars. My party of 4 decided to eat at Nathan's. It was a unanimous decision. But what else should be expected from a well-known establishment. Reading the reviews, yelpers are angry because they don't offer restrooms or combo's just A La Carte. This is Tanger Outlet and the restrooms are located in certain areas and there is one located near Nathan's. Market balance plays a big roll with the A La Carte. It's the way the market is going nowadays. OUR VISIT** The vibe was Coney Island, Brooklyn all the way, the conversation was the cyclone, the thoughts were, boardwalks, crowds of people, the beach, and of course not to be forgotten, hotdog eating contests. The customer service was exceptional, providing napkins, condiments and a clean environment. We ordered Nathan's chili dogs, chili with cheese dogs, regular dogs and fries. Arthur Treacher's fish sandwich and hushpuppies. The fish sandwich was expectedly deceptive because the picture ads never match the real food. 0/5 star. It seems like the Alaskan Pollock succulent texture and flavor failed. The hushpuppies were just all right. I grew up on homemade hushpuppies, and I will say these hushpuppies are no comparison to my dad's NATHAN'S FAMOUS HOTDOGS** My chili dogs were cooked to perfection with a snap when you bite into it. The fries were cooked well, plump Kinkle Cut hot fries without holding any grease. Mastered. PRO TIP- For best results and a satisfactory meal. Stick with what they are famous for, ordering anything other than hotdogs or fries, you are bound to be dissatisfied. IMPROVEMENTS- Don't over-cook-other foods on the menu. Really sad that both Nathan's in NHP & Westbury closed. My childhood favorite fast-food chain & still is. Even the OG location in Coney Island brings back memories. One of the the reasons why we named our son Nathan. When I saw this at Tanger, I was ecstatic & knew I had to come here for lunch. I LOVE & ALWAYS get the Arthur Treacher's Fish & Chips platter, which consists of 2 crispy battered fish fillets, tartar sauce, crinkle-cut fries, hush puppies & coleslaw. So freaking good! My daughter got the cheese fries & corn dog nuggets- I like that too. I thought the service was great- staff were friendly, the food came out quick & everything was piping hot & delicious :p The restaurant was very clean & nostalgic, dk why it got such low rating- bc the bathroom is located outside? Pricey? No à la carte opts? That's wild SMH. read more

NEVER AGAIN!!!! Seeing as yesterday was the hot dog eating contest at Coney Island, we were jonesing for some hot dogs. Our local Nathan's recently closed and the Arches is now our closest location. There was a handwritten sign reading something along the lines of NO COMBINATIONS ONLY A LA CARTE. I did take a photo of the menu and it's INSANE!! Enlarge the photo! We ordered 2 2-hot dogs, 2 large fries and a small drink. Our total was OVER $41!!! All condiments are put on the hot dogs in the kitchen. So disappointed, the hot dogs had no snap and the fries were soggy. The famous Coney Island scene is portrayed on the wall, laughing at us with their .05 hot dogs, when we just paid over 12,000% more on just hot dogs alone! Me & my wife were so planning a trek to Nathan's hotdogs,from lake Ronkonkoma as so much wanting my hotdog fix! I mapped it out where the closest parking area to Nathan's! Very disappointed. Two hot dogs and a small soda for almost $18.00?? And only YELLOW mustard available? When serving New York hot dogs in New York the ONLY choice is brown deli mustard, which is what they serve at the original location in Brooklyn. I rarely eat at Nathan's. Last time I did it was really good. However this Nathan's does not live up to its name. It's located within the Deer park Tánger outlet. So we decided to eat here after shopping. I ordered the fish and chips platter and my daughter ordered the New York attitude burger. The table we sat at looked like it was never wiped. I had to wipe it down. The food was over cooked to a crisp. Fries, fish, hush puppies was over cooked and dried. My daughters hamburger bun was hard and seemed like old bread. She couldn't finish it. Wings taste old and sauce isn't that well at all, i had mango habanero and it tasted too sweet and artificial, the normal crinkle cut fries are burnt and have no seasoning. Overall the food was horrible and not worth the money at all, not sure how it's still in business. read more

I just was here and ordered a patty melt. Less than halfway through I bit into my sandwich and chewed something with odd consistency. Thinking it was onion skin I pulled it out of my mouth and it was paper. I'm with my kids so I didn't want to make a big deal out of something. Blaming myself I starting checking the paper wrapper around my sandwich thinking I had to have bitten it. Put the wrapper was brown and the paper that came out of my mouth was yellow. I went to the person at the counter he says to me it's lettuce. I know what chewing lettuce feels like. Nothing beats eating Nathan's at Coney Island site, however Nathan's hot dogs are delicious & I was truly pleased with the freshness of all the items that we ordered. The deal of 2 for $4 hot dogs was good (must purchase fried or drink to get deal). The one thing that was a downer is that they should have the sign about the prices shown are for cash prices. By the time I realized what the sticker said about surcharge for paying with a card, I had already handed my card & it had already been charged. This should be posted on the actual menu next to the items. There were some other items on the menu that looked really appealing. If the signs about payment are not clear, then maybe a heads up from employees would be nice & appreciated. I would have paid cash, had I known there was a difference in price. read more

I love Nathan's and and basically they're all the same. This one is a lot bigger and a lot cleaner than the other ones I've been to that are usually in the malls. There is usually a long line on the weekends but it moves pretty fast and there's plenty of tables to sit at once you get your order read more

Went into Nathans in Deer Park Tanger Outlet Mall. Maybe 2 1.2 stars here. There were noted specials of 2 hot dogs and a soda. I asked for them to be grilled well and they were. I added chili which changed the price, but ok, no special and then I added a lemonade which was to be a large cup and 60 cents more than a soda. Fine. The young man direct me through the order. A receipt with the number and step to the side until the order is filled. (Like many fast food places these days) I got the order with their fresh made French Fries. I had to ask for the little forks- no big deal. As we were sitting outside at a near by table I realized they had not given me the Lemonade. I went back and another worker asked for my receipt. Seems I was charged for a soda and given change of a $20.00. The worker called the Manager out. Like- this is a big deal? All I wanted was the drink. Which easily could have taken a minute and sent me on my way. The cup was not a large but a medium size which for us was fine. I gave him the 50 cents change that I had been given. Seems I owed give or take, 10 cents more. Guess they needed to take it out of the petty cash or tip bottle. read more

Ordered 3 different burgers and the price is the same. When questioned the price, was told you pay the price and it's your choice whether you want toppings or not. Good thing I double checked the receipt, because they left off one of the burgers. Hot dogs are the cheapest meat by product so why over $11.00 for Two dogs, sm fries and a small soda (and thats factoring in their 2 for $4.00 Hot Dog Special). I understand that the Rent at Tanger is astronimical but that is the responsibility of the Lesee. Not my problem, negotiate a better lease. The hot dogs themselves are Nathan's Famous and rightfully so. They are delicious. But Uh Oh heres another blunder on their part. My buns were cold and not toasted (over the dogs) on the grill as Nathans usually does. I also question if these were not supermarket bought or aftermarket buns and not Nathan's own. I went to Nathan's on a busy shopping day because they appeared to have the shortest line. I got on line, asked the people in front of me if they were on line and they said yes, so I followed them. They were not behind the ropes that usually denotes the formation of a line, but there was no one there anyway. After they ordered, the cashier yelled next and I took a step up, but I was called out because now there were people lined up at the ropes. I explained to the cashier what happened and the people at the ropes let me go ahead of them realizing I was just doing what I thought I was right. Okay. So that's one thing. The next thing is after I ordered the cashier said I could go and get a drink at the fountain and she would call me when my meal was ready. So I went and did that. When I got to the register she pushed the bag in my face and complained she had called me. The fountains are set back several feet from the registers. There was a line of people in front of them and the restaurant was completely crowded. Of course I wouldn't have heard her. Personally I think they need a new system for that because I did feel bad she was waiting and thought I walked out on my order, but there was no way I would have heard her.
