I called multiple times to see what was up with the phone ringing and then completely going to voicemail indicating she closed her phone. Maya did not inform Mrs. Ken of any possible circumstances that may have arisen to postpone my appointment. Moreover, I had to call Mrs. Ken to find out what was happening since Maya refused to call me back or send me a message. It was through Mrs. Ken that I found out that Maya: 1. She already spoke to me; 2. Already did my service; 3. Had confirmed all my information; and 4. Was being professional. If I had already done my service, why would I be there and waste over 30 minutes waiting for a response? It speaks volumes on Maya's professionalism that she deemed a client unworthy of the simple courtesy of corresponding with them and then lie to her employer. Emergencies happen and had I been informed I would completely understand but the fact that lying and making a client be left in the dark is incredibly disgusting behavior that is not appropriate. The upseting part is the fact that if someone can lie like that to their clients and employer, who can speak on the quality of the services offered? Perhaps I dodged a nail infection and I won't thankfully ever know. Mrs. Ken is very kind and nice. I felt bad interrupting her weekend due to this. My eyebrows grow really fast, so they require that I go in every week. Every week I went into the salon, I was met with more and more anger and unkindness. It seemed like the more I went, the less the lady liked me. AND, on top of that, the more and more I went, the WORSE my eyebrows came out. She never checked for evenness and when I did point it out once, it wasn't fixed. My upper lip was also never fully threaded. She went very quickly. I always have had nice, thick brows but she made mine thinner and thinner. One time, she made my skin start bleeding because of how fast she was going and how much she was not paying attention. The only good thing about this place was the price. I paid $17 for eyebrow, lip and chin-- but it wasn't worth the bad eyebrows and mediocre threading. I now pay $26 for all three at a place in Ardmore. The time it takes for my hair to grow back now is much longer and my eyebrows have finally begun look normal again. I decided to treat her to get her nails done with me. My nails didn't really need to be redone, but I figured we're here. We want to spend quality time together. I wanna get rid of my New Year's eve nails, and do something cute for the end of January before I make an appointment at my usual place in Los Angeles For Valentine's Day nails She used to be a frequent goer at Eagleville while we had initially attempted to go somewhere else closer to where she lived we decided to go and try this place out when we walked in. She informed me her usual nail lady wasn't there so we just went with whoever was first available We ended up, leaving not loving our nails, but because I had to catch a flight, we settled on what we got They have one lady named Heather doing the nail design although she's really sweet and she could do hearts pretty well. It seems that replicating even the simplest designs didn't produce quality work. My friend and I had an initial text who prepped the nails for Heather I can't speak for my friend, but I know that while she received a full set, the nails didn't fit her nail bed, and that caused an issue when it came to her designs The girl who initially worked on my nails, filed my old gel polish off so much so that I could see she caused rings of fire on my nail beds and then drilled a hole in my right ring finger, causing me to have to lose significant length because I would need to Trim all my nails to match My shape although I was on her to make them round are still often lumpy and skewed on some sides after the fourth time of correcting her I just gave up and figured I'm only paying $35 for these nails. I can get them fixed in Los Angeles when the time comes Usually I pay in LA the price I paid for my gel manicure with design and my friends full set gel manicure with design. Additionally, aside from my nails, not being shaped properly and application of polish being applied lumpy the color is completely off I initially wanted her to give me OPI's put it in neutral as my base, but I don't think she understood that nor do I think they had that color in stock so she suggested bubble bath which I have gotten in multiple times before as a French base However, when she put the first application on, I knew it wasn't the correct color we all know bubble bath is a sheer pink that's a perfect nude for a base French however, this one's really opaque and it turns my normal French tips into pink and whites which isn't really a vibe I want as I'm not stuck in the 90s But again after correcting her multiple times, I gave up because I had a flight to catch, and the overall cost wasn't worth the fight nor the quality I was getting My friend had a very similar experience with respect to polish application and design where she had to correct Heather and show her the reference photo multiple times but after correcting the application she just gave up given. We were on a time constraint I needed to catch a flight. I keep learning this lesson to never cheat on my nail ladies, especially when I'm out of town but again I want to do something nice for my friend. I'll live with the poor design. I'll live with the color. I'll live with the lumps. I'll live with the crookedness, and ill live with the unevenness. Just kinda bummed this was meant to be a fun girls bonding experience especially with it being my last day in Philly and it turned out to be a waste of money and disappointment
